BBC full cast dramatization of 4 Sherlock Holmes stories from The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes: The Five Orange pips, The man with the twisted lip, The adventure of the blue carbuncle and the adventure of the speckled band. Clive Merrison and Michael Williams voice Holmes and Watson here in some of my favourite stories.

Excellent audio version. The Blue Carbuncle is particularly well done.

Highly recommended.

If you have enjoyed the acting talents of Edward Hardwicke as Dr. Watson in the BBC television series with Jeremy Brett as Sherlock Holmes, you will undoubtedly also enjoy these stories from The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes, narrated by Hardwicke. These six unabridged mysteries are as well performed as they are written.

The stories on this playaway are delightful. Of course, "The Adventure of the Speckled Band" has always been a personal favorite of mine. I also quite enjoyed "The Adventure of the Sussex Vampire." I love Sherlock Holmes in all his superior skills and smug demeanor. I kept getting distracted on one or two of the stories but other than that I found this a very pleasant listening experience.

After almost 5 or 6 months, discontinuing more than once so as to finish other books, done with Sherlock Holmes.

An epitome of mystery of all time. Valley of Fear is a gripping thriller and the case study has the most singular and interesting short cases.

Loved it and the adventures of Sherlock Holmes never requires any recommendation.

Again, love listening to these stories! About 1 hour long, and intriguing. I love the narrator, too.

Arthur Conan Doyle was born the third of ten siblings on 22 May 1859 in Edinburgh, Scotland. His father, Charles Altamont Doyle, was born in England of Irish descent, and his mother, born Mary Foley, was Irish. They were married in 1855.

Although he is now referred to as "Conan Doyle", the origin of this compound surname (if that is how he meant it to be understood) is uncertain. His baptism record
