About a Dragon (The Dragon Kin #2)
by
G.A. Aiken
It's not always easy being a female warrior with a nickname like Annwyl the Bloody. Men tend to either cower in fear-a lot-or else salute. It's true that Annwyl has a knack for decapitating legions of her ruthless brother's soldiers without pausing for breath. But just once it would be nice to be able to really talk to a man, the way she can talk to Fearghus the Destroyer....more

Once again this author has had me laughing so hard I'm practically rolling on the floor. The constant hilarity, the one liners, and the sheer craziness of this family of dragons cracks me up! The over the top zaniness of the dragons and their antics is a nice change of pace from my regular reading. Every once in a while I just want to sit down with a book that is meant to be pure entertainment. I want to howl with laughter and torture my husband by reading scenes to him. This series fits the bil...more

G.A. Aiken's Dragon Kin series is both funny and sexy; two things that are actually very hard to do well together! These first two books are actually reprints of her original Samhain Publishing books. I had read the originals in e-book format, but was thrilled when I found out they were releasing them in mass market paperback so I could add them to my print library! (Cause I obviously don't already have enough books!) Laurenston's humor is sardonic and witty...and rather earthy and gritty too, s...more
Briec the Mighty’s ego knows no bounds. He does whatever he wants , whenever he wants and no one can tell him otherwise. However, Nolwenn witch Talaith is the only one who can put the arrogant dragon in his place.
When she is roused from her sleep and taken to be burned by an angry town determined to kill her for being a witch, Talaith gets a little pissed off. Especially when one of the angry members is her useless husband. But before Talaith gets burned to a crisp, a dragon saves her and sudden...more

Leave it to Shelly Laurenston, or as her other pen name, G.A.Aiken to entertain and boost your mood reading when it comes to her books. I literally laughing on my bed (not in the floor :)) ) when reading about Briec the Mighty and the constantly talking and nagging Talaith. So many one liner that will make you snort, or if you're not laughing.. well, I will not blame you. Really :D *smile sweetly and innocently while planning to kill rant why you're not laughing :)) *

Yet another SL book that I loved! Okay I must admit though it did tend to go on and on and on a bit... but... Still loved the humour I loved the dynamics of the brothers and how they realate to those "piddly pathetic humens"
I also think Im in love with Ebhear the Blue... adorable! Where do I get my own dragon!

I finally finished reading About A Dragon (Dragon Kin, Book 2). It took awhile because I had been writing two books, but this was a great way to end each night. My reviews for Aiken/Laurenston's books are not very original anymore because I have the same thing to say about them at this point. I could really copy/paste my review for Dragon Actually (Dragon Kin), change the names to Briec and Talaith, and voila--Reviewed. That's not a bad thing though. I know what I'm going to get when I pick up o...more
About a Dragon by G.A. Aiken is the second in her “Dragon Kin” series which I will be referring to as the sexy dragon books. There are 6 books in the series and I’ve read the first 4. I actually started reading this series because it was part of the Vaginal Fantasy Hangout on Goodreads.
The first thing you have to understand about the sexy dragon books is that they are basically crackfic. If you read fanfic you’ll know what I’m talking about, but crackfic is basically completely out there bizarre...more

Second in the Dragon Kin hysterically funny, fantasy, paranormal romance series revolving around a family of dragon shifters. The couple focus is on Briec the Mighty and Talaith. There is a minor focus on Morfyd and Brastias.
Originally published as The Distressing Damsel.

Aiken did a good job of teasing us along. Withholding just enough to provide a twist as to Talaith's purpose, another twist as to why these two are attracted to each other---which makes it truly funny, but leaves us in t...more

Kibirli Briec o kadar kibirli ki kardeşleri devreye girene kadar kaçırdığı kızın adını öğrenmeye bile tenezzül etmedi. Zaten şu alıntıdan bile anlaşılır ne kadar kibir dolu olduğu;

Just ok, nothing special. I had problems with plot development.
STORY BRIEF:
Talaith is a Nolwenn Witch. The goddess Arzhela took away most of her powers and forced her to marry an undesirable human and live in a village for sixteen years. The villagers attempt to kill Talaith because she’s a witch. Shape-shifting dragon Briec sees this and rescues her. He wants to keep her as his lover until he tires of her. For much of the book she insults him and argues with him. He enjoys fighting with her. He...more

I think anyone’s natural response to extreme arrogance is to knock the arrogant person down off of the high dragon, opps horse. Briec’s arrogance is of epic proportions. Talaith’s acid tongue is renowned. These two together… it’s a volatile mix. Briec and Talaith argue incessantly. This bickering leads to some very interesting situations for this pair, which leads them to discover arguing for the purpose of sport.

This book was about Beric the Mighty/Arrogant and Talaith. Beric would like to experience some of the happiness his brother Fearghus has found with the human Annwyl and decides to take a human for himself. He is convinced that saving the witch Talaith from being hung in the town square means he owns her…until he’s though with her anyway. Beric can’t seem to understand, however, why the little witch won’t submit to him.

So I dont know what to say, these dragons leave me speechless but I will say this. As much as this book is funny and the main characters are always fighting between each other and family, I love the female characters of this series. I am not one for very strong females, my type of heroines are usually pretty and submissive but hands down these woman are absolutely the stongest and fiercest group of females. At first, during the initial two chapters, I thought "Wow! This is much better than the last one!" and then it just went the same direction. They argued constantly. Only this time it was treated as "positive" because arguing turned them on. Well, I found it to be tedious.
This author has a problem with heroines. They're all maniacs. They have hair-trigger tempers and take their anger out -- violently -- on their mates. That doesn't make them strong female character...more

I flippin' love this series. The humor and timing is out-and-out fabulous. The distinct personalities each of the dragons have, and their oblivious arrogance, is brilliant. This one is of Briec, who, like the rest of his kin, has a long and elaborate title. The titles in themselves are hysterical because they are spouted off throughout the story and long enough that the reader may to think to skim, until the last one catches the eye and the author's subtle humor again reveals itself. Breic has a...more
Briec the Mighty just about had the market cornered on sheer unadulterated arrogance. Even for a royal dragon, he was considered arrogant, and that was saying something. Everything was beneath him and utterly boring, except the beautiful human he found in a small village. She refused to acknowledge his greatness and that intrigued him. Coming back for a second look at the human, Briec discovers his prize about to be hanged for a witch. Well he’s not about to let the human die until he’s convince...more

“This wasn’t what she expected. Never, in her wildest dreams. This... this was the Blood Queen of Garbhán Isle? Scourge of the Madron lands? Destroyer of Villages? Demon Killer of Women and Children? She who had blood pacts with the darkest of gods? This was Annwyl the Bloody?
Talaith watched, fascinated, as Annwyl held onto Morfyd the Witch’s wrists. Morfyd — the Black Witch of Despair, Killer of the Innocent, Annihilator of Souls, and all around Mad Witch of Garbhán Isle or so she was called on the Madron lands — had actually tried to sneak up on Annwyl to put ointment on the nasty wound the queen had across her face. But as soon as the warrior saw her, she squealed and grabbed hold of her. Now Annwyl lay on her back, Morfyd over her, trying her best to get Annwyl to stop being a ten year old.
“If you just let me—”
“No! Get that centaur shit away from me, you demon bitch!”
“Annwyl, I’m not letting you go home to my brother looking like that. You look horrific.”
“He’ll have to love me in spite of it. Now get off!”
...
“Ow!”
“Crybaby.”
No, this isn’t what Talaith expected. Annwyl the Blood Queen was supposed to be a vicious, uncaring warrior bent on revenge and power. She let her elite guard rape and and pillage wherever they went, and she used babies as target practice while their mothers watched in horror. That’s what she was supposed to be and that’s what Talaith expected to find. Instead, she found Annwyl. Just Annwyl. A warrior who spent most of her resting time reading or mooning over her consort. She was silly, charming, very funny, and fiercely protective of everyone. Her elite guard, all handpicked by Annwyl, were sweet, vicious fighters and blindingly loyal to their queen.”
