Having read and LOVED The Madness of Lord Ian Mackenzie, I thought I’d go crazy waiting for this book to come out, and at times I nearly did. But let me just say, it was well worth the wait!
Lady Isabella’s Scandalous Marriage is, of course, Roland “Mac” and Isabella Mackenzie’s story. From the first book in the Highland Pleasures series, we learned that they had married under unconventional, AKA scandalous, circumstances, then separated a few years later. It was clear that the More...

After reading Jennifer Ashley’s classic debut book “The Madness of Lord Ian Mackenzie,” I just had to read the second book in the “Highland Pleasures” series to satisfy my tastes for “highlander romance!” The second book “Lady Isabella’s Scandalous Marriage” definitely did not disappoint me in the least and it stars Mac Mackenzie, Ian’s older brother and his estranged yet strong willed wife, Isabella Scranton! Just like its predecessor, “Lady Isabella’s Scandalous Marriage” has the trappings of

I'm just in love with this series. I mean, seriously in love. Like, get married, buy a house together and have 2.5 kids in love.
This follow-up to the remarkable "The Madness of Lord Ian MacKenzie" has just as much angst, romance, spark, sensuality and suspense as its predecessor. "Mac" MacKenzie is a wonderful tortured hero and Isabella is a complex, brave heroine. They are both deeply in love and readily admit it, but so much has happened and they both still More...

Another great read! I really love Mac Mackenzie's sense of humor and his easy going lovable manner. He's such a sweetie. But what I enjoyed most of all is seeing glimpses of Ian and Beth's life and how happy she makes him. Ian is so special to me *sigh*
What can I say but I've fallen in love with the Mackenzie brothers, peculiarities and all. Love this series!

I just absolutely loved Lord Ian, so I was doubly looking forward to this one. Once again, I was not disappointed. It was great, a different take on a relationship in an Historical Romance.
Mac Mackenzie was dared to crash a debutante's coming out ball, steal a kiss from her, and bail. Oooh, boy did Mac get more than he bargained for. He got his sweet kiss from Lady Isabella and knew that he needed more, so off they went to get married! And for three years, they had some very passi More...

After the incredible first book of this serie
I was certain that Jennifer Ashley would be incapable of create another great hero (I love Ian Mackenzie from the first book). I was soooooooo wrong! The Highland Pleasures 2 is wonderful!
Again the write create a wonderful historical romance, with a lot of suspense and hot scenes!

I used to hare the idea of men in kilts. "Their bloody skirts" I would say.

Ill have to start by saying that after studying the cover, I cannot fault any missing hands :(

First let me note how much I love the Mackenzie brothers! They are all eccentric and each one has such a rich, bold personality and sensuality that draws you in like a magnet! I mean any woman would be crazy to not like a Scotsman commando in a kilt! While I wanted to perch Ian on my lap and do naughty things to him, I wanted to slam Mac on the chase lounge and well, you know the rest! Before I get into the review I would like to say for those of you that loves PNR and has never tried a historical this would be an excellent series to try. You still get adventure and the great hot sex thats in PNR of course, you’d miss the paranormal part, but with all the fun that’s in this series I don’t think you’d miss it much.

Isabella & Mac are a great couple who lost themselves for a little while. I really enjoyed the passion between the two and Mac's paintings are filled with love. The house fire was a blessing in disguise, and we get to see a stalker of old. The entire family and their caring and protecting of each other is very touching. I can't wait for the next book about Cameron. Great series, great read!

Lady Isabella's Scandalous Marriage - 4.5 stars!
*sigh* I really enjoyed Mac and Isabella's story! The second book in the series and it does not disappoint! And after reading the chapter one teaser for Cam's book, I'm counting the days for it's release now!

What did Jennifer Ashley teach me?
Finally I could quote somebody on that! :)

Huh.
The narrative was repetitive. The story bored me.
There was no tension in the relationship. Mac and Isabella went from not speaking at all for 3.5 years and Isabella leaving a room Mac entered to not only having conversations but getting physical with each other within the first few chapters. At the halfway point, there seemed nothing left to the story.
Mac was emasculated to turn him into a proper hero.

Lady Isabella's Scandalous Marriage, Jennifer Ashley. Lady Isabella MacKenzie is in love with her husband. And Lord Roland "Mac" MacKenzie is in love with his wife. And yet, they've been estranged for three years. You see, Mac is an artist, and frankly, a drunk. He rolls in and out of Isabella's life making tempestuous love to her, and then aggravating her to death. The two love and fight passionately. Mac stays until things get tense, and then leaves Isabella a note telling her not to

When I read the "teaser" chapter at the end of Book #1 "The Madness of Lord Ian Mackenzie", I was afraid... very, very afraid. Mac and Isabella are introduced to us in Book #1, but I wasn't at all sure I liked either of them. And I had a hard time imagining an entire book about the two of them.
Boy, was I WRONG! When I had the chance to see and hear Isabella and Mac on their own, I realized that they are far from boring.

Lady Isabella’s marriage to Mac Mackezie has been the talk of the town since the day they said ‘I do.’ They married the night of her debut announcing her into society and the very next morning graced the pages of London’s gossip column. Their marriage hit the society pages again when Isabelle left Mac a few years into their marriage. Fast forward three years later and circumstances bring Isabella and Mac together again. Someone is selling paintings around town claiming they are works completed b

This is the second book in Jennifer Ashley’s ‘Highland Pleasures’/’Mackenzies’ series about the Mackenzie brothers. The first book, ‘The Madness of Lord Ian Mackenzie’ was an instant-favourite of mine, and told the story of youngest Mackenzie brother, Ian. This second book is about the second-youngest brother, Mac, and his efforts to win back his wife, Isabella, who left him three years ago.
I went into this book with no expectations, which is unusual for me. I loved ‘The Madness of Lor More...

I think everyone who read last year’s The Madness of Lord Ian Mackenzie has awaited its sequel. I know I have. I, of course, had no idea what to expect, but I knew I wanted certain things, one of which is the interaction between the four Mackenzie brothers. Though Ian is the heart of this family, I like them all as they’ve been characterized so far, and Ms. Ashley did not let me down amid her story of a second chance at love.
I’m probably like a lot of you, I like Ian’s story over Mac’s More...

Lady Isabella Scranton scandalized London twice - big time. First in 1875 when she ran off with notorious artist, Lord Mac Mackenzie at her debut ball; second when she left her husband after three tumultuous years of marriage. It’s been another three years since Isabella left Mac and when she discovered that someone was forging and selling his work Isabella felt compelled to warn him. What Isabella didn’t know was that since leaving him, Mac would do just about anything to get Isabella back,

I had been waiting to read LADY ISABELLA since I finished THE MADNESS OF LORD IAN MACKENZIE. I wasn’t disappointed. It took me a while to get into the story, since I couldn’t remember exactly what had happened between Bella and Mac, but once I was acquainted with the story I was completely drawn into the story and couldn’t put the book down. Mac is such a great character. He has an artist’s mentality and jumps into things before he has thought it through. One of the major problem’s that Isabella

This is the second book in Jennifer Ashley's Highland Pleasures series, but I read this book first. Since this is the first book I'd ever read by Ashley, I wasn't sure what to expect. The buzz about The Madness of Lord Ian Mackenzie made me think I wouldn't be disappointed, however, and I was right.
This novel is refreshing because it explores the adage that "sometimes love isn't enough". There's no doubt that Isabella and Mac love each other. But early in their marriage, th More...

Lady Isabella met and married Roland Mackenzie on the night of her debutante ball. He crashed the party on a dare but the moment he saw her, he had to have her and so he swept her out onto the terrace and convinced her to elope with him.
Her father, Earl of Scranton, disowned her for eloping with Mac, a debauched artist with a dissolute reputation. Mac, however, loved Isabella from the moment that he saw her but Mac was debauched. He was addicted to alcohol and his personality blaz More...

I just finished reading The Madness Of Lord Ian Mackenzie and I thought that book was okay and was looking forward to this insallment since the couple captivated me in the prior book. I'm sad to say that the hero and heroine are not as captivating in their own book. From the start, I realized that they were not as interesting as they were before. Something was missing from each of them. The heroine's personality didn't seem so unique and wild anymore, and the hero lost his sex appeal because he

I got this book as a result of a Secret Santa recommendation from KarenH. I thoroughly enjoyed the book- it dealt with a marriage that had broken up 3 years ago and the development of the characters following the marriage. Very likeable characters and I am planning on reading the rest of the series- I hav pre-ordered the next book. I felt I'd missed out slightly on the beginning of the romance as an elopement from her debutante's ball sounded pretty dramatic! The only part of the plot that w

Generally, I like to read about broken marriages that end happily, and this book definitely rings the bell on that point. Still, there was something about this book that kept me from putting an extra star on my rating to match the general opinion.
Part of it might be because unlike many other readers, this was my first read of Ashley's Highland series. Coming in on a sequel could be a little jarring, especially since this book references her previous book quite a lot.

I never thought I would love a man named Mac. But I have fallen absolutely head over heels in love with the sexy, charming, and seductive Lord Mac Mackenzie.
Mac is a famed artist who met and married Isabella Scranton on the night of her coming out debut six years earlier. After three years of troubled marriage and tragic events, Isabella leaves Mac.(yup) After being legally separated for three years, life events bring Isabella and Mac face to face. Isabella still loves her husband, but More...

After reading the first book in the Highland Pleasures Series I was extremely excited to start more of these books, but sadly LADY ISABELLA'S SCANDALOUS MARRIAGE was quite dull in comparison to The Madness of Lord Ian Mackenzie.
The story and the plot isn't so bad, but what really got me was the romance in this book. I felt like this was not the same Isabella from the previous book which was a utter disappointment. Mac and Isabella were separated for three and a half years and they are More...
