But he changes his mind and then stumbles across an acquaintance, Vivienne, from the past who offers him an opportunity to get his Hollywood career back on track. All he has to do is straighten up and fulfill her contract. Noah feels it is no sweat and agrees to her terms. Then he shows up in a small town in Missouri and is greeted by a junior version of the wicked witch that proposed the contract to him, Jolene. Jolene, Vivi...more
Normally I don't care for Romances in which one or more of the leads are Hollywood Stars. But it works in this book since both are has-beens. One by choice and one because of the bad choices he made years before. And since the setting is Small Town America, the story works for me. The leads work even better, especiallly the Hero. I like how he worked to get his life back on track without thinking he was owed anything. The trash needs taking out? He's the man for the job. He might not like it, bu...more
Return Engagement was the story of the reuniting on stage two child TV stars in a small town in Missouri. When Noah last saw Lindsey, he left her in a world of hurt and it follows the pair 15 years later as they try to sort out their feelings for one another.
I found Return Engagement to be a very cute, heartwarming story. I definitely enjoyed the antics of the two main characters as well as most of Lindsey's family. The only part I found a little "off" was the two villai...more
I'm really wishing I could give 3.5 stars. I don't read a lot of romance books, so I'm not very familiar with how they are usually plotted out. I really liked the first 3/4's of the book. I liked the story, I liked the charaters, but then the whole book seemed to change gears. It went from a nice little story to torid love scenes. I didn't feel that there was enough transition from flirty to bodice ripping, and it jarred me. The ending was, for me, a little to neat. The villians were a li...more
I thought the story started off a little slow and there were many characters introduced quite quickly. It definitely picked up but I think the story stalled out some in the middle with all of the love scenes between Lindsey and Noah. I know that was an important part of the story, but I would have been happier hearing about the lives of the other characters in the book as well reading more about the conflicts between Jolie, Vivienne, Lindsey, Noah, and the other family members. It was a cute ...more
I tried to start this book on two seperate ocassions. The farthest I ever made it was page 20. I don't think it was the book or the author. I just couldn't get characters out of my head from a book I had finished that was part of a series.
Like with all books, I will pick it up again and give it another shot. I only gave up this time so it could get moved onto the next reader.

I just finished this book a few minutes ago and am still smiling! I loved it!! I fell in love with Lindsay and Noah and their day to day adventures! If two people never should have met again, it would have been these two!! But Noah doesn't give up!! He is very persistent and Lyndsay can not resist him!! The ending was awesome, Lynn wrapped it up very nicely. All in all, I loved this book and would highly recommend it to anyone who likes a good old fashioned romantic comedy!!!
LOVE Lynn Michaels' quirky characters. Laughed out loud several times in this story.
Good story I wish it was better written.
Only problem is, I've now read virtually everything she's written and have to track down the titles under Harlequin or the like.
Not quite as good as the others, but that still puts it pretty high on the list. I enjoyed seeing Linday and Noah's story at the beginning to coincide with their already-married story in Honeymoon Suite. Also like seeing Cydney and Gus again. I really enjoy the continuity of these stories in the Kansas City, MO area.

Really enjoyed the 2 main characters, especially their bantering quips and antics. Nice to see that Noah worked to get himself back on track and wasn't someone who thought he was "owed" something. I could have done without so much of the colorful language, and the bodice-ripper sex ... not really what I like to read... but overall was a pretty good story.
A very light, sweet, and fluffy romance. Not my usual genre, but a somewhat enjoyable read. I enjoyed the different characters and what they brought to the story, however, I had a hard time with the love-hate-back-and-forth relationship between Noah and Lindsay. Just thought the book was ok.
This is a sweet story from being outside my normal genre likes. I am happy I expanded it for this author.

My first book was published in 1984 when I was 12. Why are you laughing? Since then I've published 16 books and 2 novellas: two Regencies originally written as Jane Lynson, one paranormal romantic suspense as Paula Christopher and everything else as Lynn Michaels. My husband Michael warned me never to dedicate a book to him, so instead I stole his name for my pseudonym.
