Easily the most detailed and fascinating book yet written about Bowie's early life and career. The timeline is 1947 to 1974, covering Bowie's life in England, up to and including Ziggy Stardust, Aladdin Sane and Diamond Dogs. It includes all the tours David did up until 1974, including the US tours and visits, often in great detail. i thought it was going to be a photobook and that it wasn't disappointed me; tbh, my days of wanting to know every single fact about bowie, even about his 60s period, are over. i remember when i was younger thinking it was a crime that bowie wasn't famous in the 60s. now.... now it seems somewhat excessive that someone has actually gone through the bother of plotting bowie's exact chronology... but good on the author, i guess!
