Confessions of a Video Vixen
Part tell-all, part cautionary tale, this emotionally charged memoir from a former video vixen nicknamed 'Superhead' goes beyond the glamour of celebrity to reveal the inner workings of the hip-hop dancer industry—from the physical and emotional abuse that's rampant in the industry, and which marked her own life—to the excessive use of drugs, sex and bling.

The "author", best known as that chick who sued Bill Maher for palimony,' recounts in detail all the famous rappers and sports figures she's fellated. . . and that's the entire book. So if you want to hear a detailed acc ...more

In this no holds barred memoir, Karrine Steffans shares with readers the intimate moments of her life. If you are looking for a deeply emotional look into her life, life-altering revelations, secrets of success and lessons learned, this is not the book for you. Steffans gives a glimpse behind the scenes in the world of hip hop. She tells of her "love affairs" (and I use the term very lightly) with several celebs, music artists, rappers and actors. In an effort to gain acceptance, she dro ...more
The book is basically Carrine's autobiography, and it's a *cautionary tale.* Carrine was raped when she was a teenager, then fell into drugs and the hip hop crowd. She had a lot of screwed up relationships and drug problems while she tried to raise her son. The point of the book is she came to realize she can't live like that, and she ...more

Highly disturbing. Horribly entertaining.
This book wowed me in so many ways. Video Vixen is a true book, a book about a lady’s life and her relations with other famous people. That is the first thing that made me want to read this book, because I love the truth, and is book had lots of it.
There was one area of the book that really got my attention. It was when the main character Yizette or also known as Super Head, at the age of 13 he and her friend went to the mall. And on that same night they left the mall ...more
This is far and away the worst of them. First of all, Steffans tries to identify herself as a "video vixen" but then reveals in the book that most women in music videos are actually professional models and have little to do with the hip hop social scene.
I would almost never call a woman a slut. I think it endorses a really sexist idea of women's sexuality. This book really stretched my beliefs though. Steffans tries ...more
Her need for acceptance was both understandable and annoying. Each time she spoke of or met anyone with a status or a famous story behind their name, she slaughtered her self-respect and her worth. She always wanted to prove to them (with her mouth or hot pocket) how much she belonged there; or prove to them her appreciatio ...more
In this tell-all, laden with juicy sensory details, Karrine details poverty of her youth, an absent father, sisters of different paternity than she, a hellcat strumpet of a mama, a ...more
What a selfish floozie. How she treated her son, I felt so bad for that little one , her family helped her out and when they stopped she was talking how everybody never helped her.
I thought it was an interesting read the first half of the book was okay, but after a while it became a who ,did I sleep with, is who.
