Feinstein has captured the beauty and brilliance of these ornate insects and reproduced it in a oversized format, allowing us to appreciate the details. The photos of butterflies from around the world are mesmerizing, the vivid colors shown off to perfection by the black background. Harold Feinstein whose previous works include The Infinite Rose, The Infinite Tulip, One Hundred Flowers, One Hundred Seashells, Foliage and Orchidelirium recently released another beautiful collection of photographs in One Hundred Butterflies.

"Who among us has not at one time or another gazed at a butterfly with a sense of awe? In the journey of completing the photographs for this book, it was not unusual for me to cry out in astonishment while looking at these creatures. I had been transported

I love the photographic work of Harold Feinstein. I use his books with my preschool students, who pour over the photographs, making observations and asking questions that might not arise if they couldn't view Feinstein's specimens in isolation of their natural contexts. This text is a fantastic addition to my classroom library and I love that each image includes information on each image's common and scientific names, as well as their region of origin.

This is such a gorgeous books. My mom is obsessed with butterflies so I knew that she would show great appreciation for this book. Once I gave it to her, we both sat down and flipped through the pages. This is one of the most gorgeous books I've ever flipped through.
