Love can be found in the strangest of places and at the most unlikely of times, but it is at the right time and the right place for love.
“Wild Rain” is one of my absolute favorite books written by Christine Feehan. I loved Rio and felt that he was quite possibly one of the sweetest hero’s I have ever come across. He is so lonely and he deserved much more than what he got from his elders. I was so happy when he found Rachel they are so great together. It took a while for Rio to warm up to ...more

This second book in the series was definitely better than the first. I absolutely adored the interactions between Rio and Rachel. I get so sick of whiny heroines who can't do anything for themselves and need a big, strong man to do everything for them. And on the flip side, I hate the heroines who are so over-the-top feminist that they could turn washing their hands into an argument about the unfair treatment of women, or some bull mess like that. Rachel and Rio both gave as well as they too...more
I've read a couple of Christine Feehan books (Including Burning Wild from the shape-shifter series) and I think this is one of my favourites. There was a really good story line, and the characters were really interesting.
The tortured hero has sort of been getting on my nerves lately (I mean, seriously, it seems like they all have some deep dark secret in their past...maybe that's what makes them so interesting, but I find it a little repetative) but I thought Rio's story was really different an...more

This was my first Christine Feehan book. I was under the impression she was cheezy, because of the common complaint in several reviews, make fun of her always using 'velvet sheath' as her romantic, hot sexy vagina word. They were right, it is overly used. Velvet is dry and somewhat fuzzy, so it bugged me too!! SOooo sorry!! Other authors use better words, descriptions, and don't over use the description. I got to where I skipped those parts entirely.

This book had an intriguing premise. I love the shape-shifting leopard people and the wild jungle setting.
There were two huge problems with this book that kept me from loving the story. First, this author made the common error of thinking that she could create drama by withholding information. This seems to happen in romance more than other genres, the information coming out when one confesses to the other, but in this case, by the time it came out, I was past the point of caring. 4.5 Stars.
Very interesting story this
After the meh first book The Awakening, Wild Rain was a great read. Rachael has come to the Borneo rain forest on the run from her past. Trying to stage her own death and begin a new life in the forest, she ends up in Rio's home, thinking its only a dwelling for travellers
Rio is one of the leopard people and has 2 clouded leopards as his companions. He thinks she’s one of the poachers and in the scuffle that follows his snow leopard hurts ...more

A thrilling ride through the survival of a leopard attack, torturous pain, fever and past life confusion.
Wild Rain is the second book in Christine Feehan’s leopard series. This book is the story of Rio and Rachael.
Rio is a male shape-shifting leopard who has been banished from the village of his people. He works with a team that rescues or assassinates psycho bad dudes.

A 4 1/2 star read. I enjoyed this book a lot, it drug a little in spots but was really good from the time the details about Rachel's brother are known until the end.
Well, well, well. My first wallbanger of the year and its from one of my favorite authors.
In a nutshell, this book sucked.
- no character development. if there's a prequel to this book it would have been nice to have read it. apparently it explains a whole heck of a lot of things.
-heroine is stupid. she is VIOLENTLY attacked by the hero's "pet leopards", nearly has her leg torn off, suffers days and weeks of fever and infection and then one da...more

Rachael Lospostos has had kind of a hard life to this point. Her family is in up to their eyeballs in all kinds of nefarious activities and, while that money has provided Rachael with everything money can buy, it hasn't provided safety, security, protection, or love. So, Rachael seizes on the opportunity to create a new life for herself and runs for it to the jungles of Indonesia. Her family isn't willing to let her go that easily, though, and attempts on her life are made left and right, with a...more
I love a good shifter story. This one had the goods….but something about it rubbed me the wrong way.
The “ Rachel. Rachel. Rachel. Rachel. Rachel.” In every sentence. Yes. We know you are talking to the ONLY other person in the house.
Rachel didn’t seemed bother by the fact that this man could shift, that a huge leopard was walking around in the house rubbing himself up against her naked body. Huh? Wasn’t she just having nightmares about that? All of a sudden she is OK with it? I wo...more

Although it had a little bit of a slow start, Wild Rain turned out to be another winner for me. I can see how Christine Feehan's writing style doesn't work for everyone. She is very wordy. But I like that she really puts a lot of detail into descriptions of the setting and the feelings of the characters. It adds to the atmosphere and the emotional intensity of her stories, which is why she's a favorite of mine.

From an email dated 10/26/2004:
For some reason, I just loved that scene in "Wild Rain". It was before the Rachael realized that Rio really could shapechange. He does this very cat-like stretch against the wall, then she notices the claw marks. She's looking at the little clouded leopards, realizing they couldn't stretch that high.

I really like this series and so far this one is my favorite. Rio lives in the rain forest and everyone living there abides by his rules. Rachel is running away, trying to escape from a horrible situation she was forced into. Their meeting was not the best of circumstance, but they manage to make the best of it. Then their attraction to each other hits and they both feel like they've known each other in a past life. But what Rachel is running from could get them both killed. So the hunt begins...more
For some reason I just could not get into this book. It was a nice book, and I did like that characters in it, but just could not get into the story.
I felt like the story was forced, and could not even finish it.
It might have been because I had so much going on while I was reading it, but I just wish it would have pulled me in more.

I am just about finished and have enjoyed it tremendously. I enjoy the Mystery/Paranormal/fantasy format. Christine Freehan is an imaginative author and knows how to grab the reader within the first few paragraphs of a book. I like her work and have read everything she has written EXCEPT the Carpathian series. Vampires just don't work for me.
This author has plenty of action; my only problem with her writing is that it includes too many passionate sex scenes. While passion and sex are great, too much of it takes away from rather than adds to the rest of the action and excitment of the story line. This is true of all the books I have read by her.
This book was great! Steamy scenes, love, romance, friendship, family and danger. Christine Feehan did a great job with this book. Rachael and Rio belong together, but I was kind of shocked when I read about her past 3 quarters of the book in, made the book even more interesting. Can't wait to read the next one!
Narrated by Renee Raudman
I wasn't able to finish the audio version with my initial try. Renee Raudman has since become one of my favorite narrators so I want to give this one another try in audio.
I'll give the narrator credit for being so realistic with the harsh angry voice for Rio that it had me so tense that I lost my enjoyment in listening. It would have worked if the voice would have mellowed with the character but my first impression after skipping around a lot was tha...more

Book #2 in the Leopard series and it really ticked me off how this book was marketed. It is not NEW, but repackaged.
Warning A,: If you already have the book "Fever" you already have this book! "Fever" includes: "Wild Rain" (book #2) and "The Awakening" (book #1) in the Leopard Series. It's a large-size paperback.
This copy of "Wild Rain" is identical except the print is very small and it's in a mass market paperback....more

This story was ok. A true romance in every sense of the word, maybe a bit too much. Rio and Rachel are soul mates who find each other while Rachel is trying to escape her past. Not much more to say about it.
Note to self: Do not buy this book. You've already read it in Fever.
I liked it, but it was slower paced than I have come to expect from this author. For the first several chapters, it just felt like time was crawling and I wanted to get to the heart of the book.
I'm loving the leopards! They appear to have the same mating instincts as the Carpathians from her other series, but with changing forms. Mating as people and animals. Nice!
A new series from Christine Feehan, Leopards! This book is the first in the series, and its fabulous. If you liked Rachel Vincents series Stray, you may want to try this
This book was great. I enjoyed the characters and the storyline. Another great Feehan novel not to dissapoint. It was different to read something other than Vampires and Witches...
I love Christine Feehan's work, this book follows! Couldn't put it down. Glad I came across this book, I've already read the 2 books after this one, so it was great to read from book 1 =D
A review states (and I agree!): "Suspense often takes a backseat to the protagonists’ romantic feelings…" I thought this panther shape-shifter idea was AWESOME! However, there was waaaaay too much sex (aka romance). It really got in the way of the story. You just want them to get over their hormones so you can get to the more exciting stuff.

I absolutely loved this book. The hero was so cool and awesome. The heroine was neat and definitely not wimpy.
It was a good story but it got very descriptive about the rainforest and to me slowed down the action considerably.
