4 stars – Romantic Suspense
I’m a sucker for romance stories featuring hot firefighter heroes, and after being somewhat disappointed with Wild Heat, the first book in Andre’s Hot Shots: Men of Fire series, I was hoping for a bit more from this second installment. But unfortunately, Hot as Sin doesn’t quite live up to its full potential either.
On the surface it’s got everything going for it to be a five star read: an extremely sexy cover, a ‘hot-as-sin’ wildland firefighte More...

I very much enjoyed Bella Andre’s first Hot Shots book – it was a nice surprise to find a book in this genre that was more than just hundreds of pages about washboard abs – and this follow-up is just as much fun as the first.
I very much loved the two leads in this story. The premise for the relationship – they were engaged very young when Dianna became pregnant, and then their relationship fell apart when a car accident led to a miscarriage – was emotional and interesting. It was suc More...

Review reposted from my Smitten with Reading blog...
My Review:
Overall, this was a pretty good book. Sam & Dianna have an undeniable connection. The tension between them is palpable- both for the misunderstandings and assumptions from 10 years ago when they were both too young and too stupid, but also for the sexual tensions that are still there now.

Thoroughly enjoyed this second installment in the Hotshots series! It takes place outside of Vail, Colorado and the bulk of the story is in the Rocky Mountains, 2010. It's a rekindled young love tale with a super sexy firefighter that was introduced in Wild Heat.
Sam MacKenzie and Dianna Kelley met when they were 18 and 20 years old, and after a very hot "courtship" they were in love and getting married. Things happened that neither handled well--they were young--and the More...

My summary of the book - After 10 years apart Sam still rushes to Dianna's side after hearing she was in a car accident and soon ends up helping her look for her sister. Soon the past catches up with them and they have to sort out the past to be able to sort out the present and future. The passion still sizzles between the pair and they can't forgot the love they had for each other those 10 years before.
Thoughts on the characters - Dianna seems like she has control of her life but w More...

This book was fair. I'll start off by saying that I don't like books where the hero and heroine were lovers in the past. I like to read about people meeting for the first time and falling in love, not getting back together. I found it improbable that Sam would go running off to the side of his ex-fiance whom he hadn't seen in 10 years even if he did hear she had a car accident. I also think they fell back into each other's arms too quickly. Three days after being apart 10 years was a bit sho

I liked this book. I didn't love it, but what can ya do. Anyway this is about Sam a Hotshot firefighter and Dianna . I enjoyed the flashbacks in book. Brought more depth to the book. I am not quite sure what it was that didn't make me love it. Maybe just the action for me felt a little flat. I did love the way that Sam and Dianna were together. Their love was put to the test 10 years ago and things went bad. There was a lot of misunderstanding and assumptions about each other. When they finally

A plethora of issues and dysfunction worthy of a Jerry Springer episode wasn't to my liking but when the heroine's sister calls saying she just escaped from some guy who kidnapped her and the call gets cut off the heroine doesn't immediately call the police. In fact after a long drawn out conversation with the hero about the phone call and she finally decides it's time to involve the police the hero tells he not to bother.

The second in a series about Hotshot firefighters from Lake Tahoe. Sam MacKenzie was introduced briefly in the previous book, Wild Heat. He's been a hotshot for over 10 years and kept his heart locked up tight since his fiancee left him 10 years ago when he was just a young 20-year-old hotshot and she was recovering from a car accident.

I'll have to admit I was disappointed in this sequel. It was nowhere near as good as the first book in the series.
The author, Bella Andre, did not show much skill in giving us insights into the motives for the secondary characters actions, and she did an all right but not great job drawing the protagonists.
There is an element of the willing suspension of disbelief anytime one enters a fictional world. The plot of this book goes over that line into unbelievable. There i More...

When I saw this book, I was immediately drawn in by the interesting title and the visually appealing cover. When I read that the book was about a firefighter, I just had to buy it, and I do not regret that decision one bit. I have not read the first book in this series, but I have to say, that out of all the books I've read with a firefighter hero/heroine, this is one of my favorites.
From the beginning of the book, I was Sam MacKenzie's shoulder to cry on. I was thoroughly irritated More...

I think Bella Andre is one of those authors whose books I can read and don't really mind, but that don't really hook me. There just seems to be something about the way she writes, the way she tells a story that doesn't entirely appeal to me. Because I didn't mind this book. It was above average, I'd say, but there was something missing from it. Something that didn't pull me in.

This was a very good, passionate, but often sad reunion or 'second chance at romance' story, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Hot As Sin is the second in the author's Men of Fire series about 'Hotshot'(wildfire) firefighters based near Lake Tahoe, but unlike the first book (Wild Heat), I thought this one focused on the relationship between the H/h more so than the firefighter plot, which worked for me. There was a mildly suspenseful plot to go along with the romance, but to me, the romance was fron

I don't know why, but this book didn't do it for me. The plot didn't keep me interested and even when I just finished the book I'm having a hard time remembering the names of the characters.
After reading the Firefighters from station 5 series, I've been looking for more stories about firefighters, but sadly I haven't found a compelling enough book so far.
This wasn't particulary good but it wasn't bad either.

The only sin here is that someone was actually paid to write this novel. In a nutshell: Sam MacKenzie, Hotshot wilderness firefighter, douses all kinds of flames (if you know what I mean) while helping his ex track down her kidnapped sister. I enjoy a good bit of smut, but this wasn't really sexy, romantic, suspenseful or particularily entertaining on any level. The cover is nice, though...

This wasn't as good as Wild Heat but still enjoyable. I found Dianna Kelley to be a bit of a pain in the butt. Sam MacKenzie was amazingly hot and skilled as both a survivalist and fire fighter though there wasn't much fire fighting in this book. Dianna's sister April goes missing and she teams up with ex-fiancee Sam to find her. They hadn't spoken in 10 years and the tension between them was keeping them from working together which they needed to do in order to survive the wilderness of the

The second entry in the Men of Fire series by Bella Andre. I liked it but not as much as the first. You still had to suspend reality quite a bit but I'm mostly okay with that since that's the whole idea with fiction anyway, isn't it?

This cover is super-hot, and the book followed suit. Really steamy-- classic Bella Andre! I also loved the firefighter aspect of this book. Clearly, a lot of research went into the details of Sam's career, as well as the wilderness parts of Sam and Dianna's search for April. I'd have to agree with a few other commenters about the believability factor, but really, I think you have to suspend your disbelief a little when you read fiction, and this didn't go too far over the top for me not to enjoy

Who doesn't like a hot firefighter!?!?!?!? I liked this book because the tension between the two main characters was just funny, and the action, can't get enough of it!

3.5 star for me.
It takes a while for Sam and Dianna to forgive each other, but pretty hot once they do. The reason they split in the first place was pretty sad and I even teared up at one point. However, one must really suspend a bit of reality where Sam is concern and how he manages to survive some the "feats of strength" he faces. But like I've said before, who doesn't love a sexy fireman! Dianna is a bit annoying at times, not enough for me not to like her a little t More...

Not as good as the first one in the series, but still a good read. Hope it doesn't take too long for the third part to come through paperbackswap.com.

I really really enjoyed this, but then again I love me a good firefighter romance lol. The pacing in this was awesome. I gave it a four instead of five stars only because I was able to set down the book about 80% of the way through and read a whole other book before finishing this one. It wasn't that it was bad, just as I got toward the end it didn't hold my attention as much as it did in the first 75% of the book. I still enjoyed it regardless and I will definitely be reading the rest of the ho

This book this not captivate my attention. I finished it because I rarely not finish the book once I start to read it. There were parts that were not meant to be funny but made me laugh.

Afraid I have to put this one down as well. I really like reunited lovers, but I just can't get past the fact that she was injured in a bad car accident that killed someone else, she has absolutely no outdoors experience and yet he is taking her down class 5 rapids and making her rock climb. And the fact she didn't just call the police bothers me. I feel like the conflict is forced and not remotely organic. Many times I can suspend belief, but not in this case.

I found this one to be utterly predictable. The characters were very stereo-typical and one dimensional. Even their fighting about their past issues were just what I figured they would be. The one part that was slightly interesting was The Farm, but we didn't get to spend much time there.
I hope that the next book gets better.

This book gets 3.5 stars it was really good lots of back story. It was good I just keep comparing it to the first in the series it was better in some ways. It is a slower book the book one. Love that to me their seemed to be more story line and less sex sense. Dont get me wrong their there and they are good. I just enjoyed the interaction between the two leads.
