Have you ever heard of those age old stories where a doll is a ghost? Many times right? That’s exactly what the base of this story is. But such a refreshing take of an age old haunting story.
In the opening chapter Alexis is taking pictures of her old, huge house at 3 in the night. While she is going in after taking the pictures she notices a strange yellow light at one of the windows of her house. This is the first occurrence of something unusual that Alexis notices. When I look at this book I think creepy. I'm glad a goodread friend recommended it to me because I probably wouldn't have picked it up on my own because I'm a wuss when it comes to anything remotely deemed as scary. This book is different because though it has that creepy feel to it, I didn't feel overwhelmed by it. Alender kept the balance just right for a reader like me.

Oh. My. Jeebus. Only way to explain this book is UH-MAZING! I would give it 10 stars if I could. I loved it!! Finished it in about 3 hours. I could really relate to Alexis, her dad gives her the same puppy-dog be my friend look that my dad does. My mom works 24/7 too. Except I don't have a sister possessed by a creepy dead girl doll ghost thing. My house also doesn't have doors that close all by themselves or water that boils on an unlit stove. This book was alright. It wasn't nearly the best book about paranormal activity, but for a book intended for younger teens it was okay.
Lexi is a girl that doesn't like cheerleaders or preps, yet she also doesn't fit in with the "Doom Squad" which are a group of kids she currently hangs out with who also hate cheerleaders or preps. I liked Lexi.

this book is terrible AND i loved it. so there, world!
let's start with the obvious: the title.
it's dumb. like stupid-dumb. and the girl on the cover, veiled mysteriously in a curtain, making her look like a demented bride or elaborate victorian doily, isn't doing the book any favors. other than this: when you see it, you need to pick it up and say, "what's this about then?" and then you read it. because it looks awful.
does that make any sense at all?

Capital P-E-R-F-E-C-T. This book is PERFECT. Katie Alender is a genius. I love how it's written. Every part of it. It's paranormal that never gives a sad vibe. The energy is drawn on its first word to the last. And not boring, not even an incy wincy tiny little part of lameness in it.
Pink haired, no friends. What a looser, I thought at first. But her straightforward rudeness, her toughness. Alexis is definitely one of the coolest kick-ass fictional character I'll ever consider.

The best definition of this book is Creepy. It's definitely a chilling read. Ghosts; strange happenings that made my hair stand on ends; it was off to a great start. However, I found it so full of clichés that it never developed into anything very intense or much interesting. The lack of originality is easily the biggest downfall of the novel and makes it extremely predictable. I've watched a lot of thriller/horror movies of this kind though, maybe I just have seen it all?

I really enjoyed this first novel from Katie Alender. She is a wonderful writer and I loved the plot she came up with and the direction she went with it. I didn't want to put the book down once I started it. I look forward to reading more by this author. Bad Girls Don't Die tells the story of Alexis, a high school misfit. Her mom is too involved in work to pay attention to her and her younger sister Kasey. Her Dad is too involved in his own things, and Alexis doesn't want to be involved with any

I'm usually not one to read ghost stories, but this one was the perfect amount of suspense, without being too freaky. I loved how it kept me turning pages with the suspense, the budding romance between Alexis and Carter, and the sarcasm from Alexis that was defiantly relatable, and seemed very similar to the way my friends and I talk.
I would recommend this as a story for someone who likes page turning books, and with a liking for pretty big reads, considering the book being 346 pages.

I chose "Bad Girls Don't Die" after the constant remarks of its greatness from my friend. Lexi is an average high school reject whose life changes forever after battling the spirit who has taken over her sister. “ That's the pathetic thing about high school. Everyone tries so hard to be something they aren't. It's gotten so I don't know who I am, so how can I even try to be who I am, much less who I'm not? My problem is that I don't even fit in with the misfits. I don't fit anywhere.”

Strange things are happening at Lexi’s house. Her 13-year old sister Kasey is completely obsessed with dolls and when Kasey’s friend Mimi breaks her arm at their house, rumor is that it wasn’t an accident but that Kasey broke Mimi’s arm for messing with the dolls. Of course, Lexi doesn’t believe this rumor. Sure, Kasey’s a bit crazy about her dolls, but she’s not violent, right?
Suddenly, things begin to change. Kasey is acting stranger and stranger, talking about a decision that More...

This book Bad Girls Don't Die was full of mystery and evil. I chose this book, beacuse I was taken away by the title I really wanted to know what Bad Girls Don't Die really meant. The two main characters were Alexis and Kasey. Alexis goes to high school and loves to take photos of everything. She also likes a boy named Carter but she doesn't want to admit it. Kasey is obsessed with dolls even though she is a thirteen year old girl. The doll she loves is evil and is making her do things that ar

I love ghosts. I love revengeful ghosts. I hate dolls, especially haunted ones, but I love books about haunted dolls. Stories about possession are pretty cool too and Bad Girls Don't Die starts out with the scare factor and doesn't stop until the end. Once I picked it up, I didn't put it down. A ghostly light that runs after you and climbs trees, a ghost that breaks your air conditioner and boils your water for you, this all makes for some creepy crap. It's not the scariest book I've ever read,

I thought this was the perfect YA thriller/creepy novel. I loved everything about it. It was haunting, it had hints of romance and it had the one thing I loathe most in the world: creepy dolls. I've been scared of dolls ever since watching the movie Chucky. It probably doesn't help that my sister had LOADS of stuffed toys in her room. Luckily most of them are Pokemon stuffed toys, so phew! She once had this lifesize Teletubbies doll in her room.

Bad Girls Don't Die is a classic story with a twist. Two sisters move into a house with a dark past and one of them gets possessed. Sounds familiar right? Lexi's 13 year-old sister, Kasey is always preoccupied with her immense collection of antique dolls. One day Kasey's friend Mimi mysteriously breaks her arm while at Kasey's house. Mimi then starts a rumor making everyone believe that Kasey broke her arm after she touched one of her precious dolls. Lexi is positive Kasey would never do such a

Bad Girls Don't Die by Katie Alender is an amazing read, especially if you are looking for a creepy thrill. The main character of the book is a teenage girl named Alexis. She is a social outcast; she hates all of the cheerleaders, has bright pink hair, and hangs out with the clique called "The Doom Squad". At first, I did not like this book because I couldn't relate to Alexis. Her character was trying to hard to be different. But as the story progresses and Alexis's little sister Kasey

I picked up this book completely on recommendation. So I really didn't know what to expect. Besides my friend's review "don't read this book at night." It was good. It was almost like Poltergeist meets child's play. It was a little scary...but there was TONS of creepyness in this book. It's about a sixteen year old outcast named Alexis. She doesn't fit in with many people from her school. Her mom is a workaholics and her dad is a sportsaholic and they never there for her or her 12 year

So, there’s nothing wrong with Katie Alender’s novel Bad Girls Don’t Die. It’s the story of Alexis, a high school student who takes photos, thinks her doll-loving twelve year old sister, Kasey, is kind of annoying and goes out of her way to distance herself from just about everyone at her school. Alexis is smart and Alender does a terrific job of capturing her voice from the very beginning of the novel. Although like many teens, Alexis takes herself a tad too seriously sometimes, she’s also self

Bad Girls Don't Die has this totally creepy cover, I love it! From the first time I saw it, I was intruiged then I was send the second (From Bad to Cursed) novel in the series and knew I need to read BGDD.
I think I had high expectation for this book. I wanted it to be creepy and super scary. I mean, antique dolls? - I was expecting doll heads twisting around, dolls walking and talking but I didn't get any of that. I didn't even get the creepy feeling I look forward to when reading these boo More...

Bad Girls Don't Die is a very well written book. I gave this book 4 stars. It is very addicting and can get very scary. The first day, I read over 200 pages. I really enjoyed reading this book. I made a lot of connections with this book. One of the main characters in possessed. It was sort of like me when I was going through a rough time last year. My mind was telling me something that I shouldn't do. I ended up loosing a lot through out that year. If you like scary books and a little

After watching the book trailer for Bad Girls Don’t Die, I was skeptical of the plot line Alender’s book had to offer. However, after giving the story a chance, I am pleased to say that I enjoyed this novel. I found Lexi’s character entertaining in her bad-girl antics at school, but I more so was drawn to the growth she establishes throughout the book, both in accepting people into her life – like the seemingly loathsome Megan who turns out to be somewhat of a savior, and the lust-worthy Carter

Scary. As. Hell. I had heard great things about this book, and wasn't disappointed. And now there's a follow-up coming out? Count me in, after I turn on all the lights in the room. From the front cover of this book, to the last chapter, Alender had me hooked.

This was an amazing book. The author, Katie Alender, did a great job of keeping the level off suspense high throughout the story. I never wanted to put the book down. She was creative with the plot and linking the characters together. There was always a new surprise and it was exciting to try to solve the mysteries that were hidden along with the characters. It made me as a reader feel like I was actually in the book living alongside the characters. I think Alender’s technique in revealing the m

Wow. I think this was my first real horror story... or at least my first creepy doll who possesses people one. It.was.absolutely.amazing.
Unfortunately for me, I have an old american girl doll with broken green eyes in my closet. (They got water in them and turned all bright and glassy... shiver.) So even though I couldn't fall asleep all night (after reading way past midnight), I must deem this book worthy of 2 hours of sleep.
