I picked this up as my first book on my new Nook ereader because I somehow got my hands on book 12 in this series and wanted to at least read the first one before reading number twelve. I found it for waaaay to much money online or 2.99 in electronic format...so electronic it was!

Twilight Phantasies is the story of a very special woman named Tamara. Tamara works for a top secret government agency that tracks and studies people with "unusual" abilities. He guardian also works for this agency trac...more

I have picked up a book called FORSAKEN by Maggie Shatne but it is a compliation of two stories Twilight Phantasies and Twilight Illusions.
Book 1
In this world, there are scientists (whose acts are evil), and the Chosen who are protected by vampires), and then there are vampires.

Also in this world there is the DPI Department of Paranormal investigation ... also bad guys but they are convinced they benefit mankind.

The main character is a Chosen and her protector is Eric and one day when she is qui...more

Through the first few chapters I wasn't enjoying this book but by the end I was wrapped up in the storyline. The plot beyond the romance really held my attention despite some predictable moments. At the beginning I felt lost but as the story unfolded I am glad the author held out on details upfront to bring more of a mystery/suspense feel. I also enjoyed the author's take on vampires -- some aspects I had heard before but there were still some original twists. The only negative for me - Lack of...more

This was a great story, so sweet! I really wish I had found this series before now. I love her take on vampires, I love that it's an ordinary romance but the man is a vampire, I love that she's not some weak woman always running fromhim. She had her doubts but she got over them. I can't stand it when the woman in a book spends the WHOLE book conflicted about the same thing. She had conflicts but they were always evolving. I really liked this book and I recommend this to all vampire lovers but be...more

In the first half of the book, I thought it was very interesting and intense. But after that it became very predictable and a bit boring actually. And I thought there were too many sex scenes. It isn’t because I don’t like reading about it, but there is a limit to how many times you want to read about that intensity between Tamara and Eric before you just want to say: Yes, I know that know, when will we get to the part were she is supposed to be in danger? And in the end, it comes, and it isn’t...more

I was given this book by a friend to read (who has impeccable taste) yet I couldn't get into it. It is probably best described as a Mills & Book where the dashing Italian executive is replaced by a dashing vampire. I am all for a good romance book with a happy ending, but I need my leading couple to fight a little, resist a little or maybe even hate each other a bit (aka Darcy & Elizabeth). I also prefer my female leads to be the strong (physical and mental) not the whi...more

Yes this was a sweet story, BUT I think for me I like my PNR to have a little edge or bite lol.

I mean really why would vampires in this day and age sleep in coffins?? When you have can panic rooms etc. I think I've been spoiled because I'm a lover of Midnight breed and BDB with a more modern twist to vampires.

So for me this story was a little to old fashioned for me.

I've finally gotten a chance to start this series. I've heard so much about it. A decent start. Standard paranormal romance. While the characters were likable, they weren't unique. A lot of great detail. What intrigued me the most is the over-arcing storyline.

If you like Christine Feehan's Dark series, you'll like this one.

This book is about Tamara Dey (a Chosen- i.e. special blood type that contains a Belladonna antigen- they die early because of it and are the only humans that can be changed into vampires) and Eric Marquand - a vampire scientist of sorts. Jameson Bryant is a boy in this book- he will have his story in Born in Twilight.

This was good, it has all the makings of a great vamp romance but I just wanted a little bit... more. I'm not sure where or what is lacking. It just seemed there wasn't a pinnacle or point when everything culminated smoothly. Maybe I'm being over critical. I totally enjoyed it, and I'm planning on reading the next of the series.

Very good series. Alike to Feehan or Kenyon. Should be read in order if you enjoy following the characters as they are introduced and evolve into their own stories. The first four (without anthologies) are very closely related. Available as ebook bundle at Barnes & Noble very reasonably priced.

Maggie Shayne is a new author for me. I was given a couple books in this series (and being the way that I am), I had to get the earlier books to read before I read the two given to me - that is after I had read a lot of good reviews about her books. I enjoyed reading the book. I am also glad that the three main characters are in the second book.

komen :

ceritanya agak cepat dan kurang seksi dibanding twilight hunger.klo ga baca twilight hunger, kurang ngeh ama DPI.menurutku, biasa saja. kecuali saat proses Tamara berubah jd vampir (uhuk...)

berharap seri ini diterbitkan semua ama penerbit violet.

It was a decent read will absolutly pick up the other ones in the series here and there. They are very inexpensive on the kindle. This book has a little domestic type violence so watch out if that kind of thing makes you woosie. This is the kind of book I label as brain candy.
Genevive Russet
Not her best work. Still it sets things up for later in the series. I don't recommend it, but it won't make your brain bleed.
Also, I cringed every time she used the word "denims" instead of jeans or pants.

"jangan meminta maaf karena telah menciumku, karena telah menyentuhku, Tamara. Belaianmu adalah hadiah yang berharga bagi raja mana pun... Yang akan selalu ku syukuri setiap kali kau memilih untuk menganugerahkannya. " -Eric Marquand -
Bella Swan
I enjoyed it even though it was very cheeseball. It was predictable and the end was rushed and totally ridiculous. I was having a difficult time reading the end. But overall the writing was good.

This is my first Maggie Shayne book. I was pleasantly surprised. I really liked the story line and explanations as well as creativity. I love a good vampire romance story!

I actually chose this book because I read it was pretty good...So I have great expectations.. I can say that it is sensual and although it has the "typical" chicles about vampires, the love story between Erik and Tamara is priceless! Can´t wait to start the next book!

It was really good, it cut to the chase really fast, but then there's a problem. it was really really good *thumbs up* :D

Really good!!!
Nice, nice, nice!!
I feel this book was written in '90s, for reference to clothing, for tiny details, the atmosphere...however good!

Fernanda Jacopucci
It's a nice story... but I'm not entirely convinced ... I'm hopping the series gets better

I read these in the bundle but wanted to rate each individually too. This book was a great beginning to the series. True characters and believeable situations.

This book is amazing. I got sucked in (no pun intended LOL) from page 1. Maggie Shayne is an amazing author. The storyline is excellent, and the passion and love scenes just set you on fire.

I live in the teeny, tiny town of Taylor, NY, (Alliteration Alert!) though my mailing address is Cincinnatus, my telephone exchange is Truxton and I pay taxes and vote in Cuyler. All of these are at least in the same rural county in the southern hills of New York State; Cortland County. There are more cattle than people here. The nearest “big” cities are Syracuse and Binghamton and they are an hou...more
