This story has some of the things I love most in an erotic romance and it also has the one thing I most hate in erotic romance, but I’ll get to the “hate” part later in the spoiler section.

Lorelei James is the queen of hot, cowboy sexin’ whether it be singular lovin’ or ménage. She knows how to write the scenes so that they’re burning up hot, but can also be very romantic. Corralled is pretty similar to her Rough Riders series in that these cowboys are also rodeo junkies, and since this is the f...more

Opening Line: "Screwing two guys doesn't make you a slut."

I was pretty excited to hear that Lorelei James’ was starting a new series because I’m seriously addicted to her Roughriders books and IMO you can‘t ever have enough sexy cowboys. I also have a small addiction to the PBR and CORRALLED is all about the bullriding and its fearless bullfighters. Throw in a ménage storyline (yes girls, two swaggering, ultra sexy cowboys) and in theory this book should have had all my guns a blazin’. Unfortuna...more

Hank and Kyle, close friends from childhood, have been working in separate rodeo circuits as adults. It comes as a shock to each to learn that they've been "dating" the same woman. She didn't know they were acquainted.

Lainie's father was a champion bullrider who died in the ring. She has a career as a medical sports therapist, patching up those injured on the circuits. She determines to give both men up so as not to come between their friendship. Rather than lose her, they ask her to be shared.

Ugggg...I read Wrangled and Tangled and then Strattled and Spurred and both I really enjoyed...this one....not so much. I would say I am a 3.5 on the stars. I just do not get how Kyle can ever be with Celia now??? In the other two books the sharing was mentioned, but I did not research the series before reading Bran and then Abe /Renners stories. I just thought, oh a one off with the best buddy to give his gals something different!

Yikes, this was anything but! The whole dating Kyle while having...more

The very first line of this book (see above) drew me in immediately. Okay, I admit that the ménage trope lover in me interpreted the sentence in a different way than it was meant to be but I’m willing to bet I am not alone in that. Truthfully in the beginning of the book Lainie isn’t screwing both guys at the very same time. She is kind of dating them at the same time. But as the blurb indicates it soon went the course of my initial thought.

Lainie Capshaw works as a med tech for the...more

This book was a first for me on many levels.....my first Lorelei James, my first audio book, my first ménage ..... I have read many reviews and agree with several opinions but still have a real need to share my own. Lots of my GR friends love Lorelei and I had not read her...that being said, I was very sick about a month ago and was unable to read. This happened to be available as an audio book from the library and I decided to give it a try. I have absolutely no regrets. I never imagined I woul...more

GREAT Start to The Blacktop Cowboys series.

DO NOT READ Corralled expecting it to be like the Rough Rider series, comparing the two series is like comparing apples to oranges, you can't.

I have to admit, I put off reading Corralled because of a review that said Corralled didn't measure up to the Rough Riders series. I absolutely LOVE all of the Rough Rider books and I am now adding the Blacktop Cowboy series to my list of favorites, Corralled is the first book of the series. You can't compare the...more

Ok first off I have to say, I was going between 3 and 4 stars with this one. The characters were okay, the story line was okay, it did get quite steamy at times which was a bonus! But I didn't fall in love with these people and their story wasn't enough to enthrall me. With that being said, I'm still a huge fan of LJ! Her RR series is one of my favorites!

Not one of my favorite Lorelei James books, but a pretty good start to a new series about cowboys. I think my problem with this one was that I didn't really fall in love with any of the characters, and at times the background info (about rodeos) surrounding the plot got a bit...boring. I'm sure that anyone interested in all the behind the scenes info about rodeos would love this book, it just isn't a subject that I'm too interested in. I realize that LJ had to fill the reader in on what competin...more

First in the Blacktop Cowboy erotic western series. Corralled revolves between a ranch in Wyoming and traveling around to various rodeos.

The Story
Despite her best intentions, Lainie has succumbed to the blandishments of two cowboys: a bullfighter and a bull rider. Fortunately they're each on a different circuit so neither knows about the other. Until that night in Bucky's Tavern. When they not only find out about each other, Lainie finds out about them.

Lainie decides to take the boys up on their...more

Corralled by Lorelei James

Yee-Haw! (couldn’t resist!) a category I know I like and like well. I have been hearing about the books by Lorelei James for so long that I used this as an opportunity to check her out, starting with the beginning of her Blacktop Cowboys series.

Overall I though the book was ok. (would be a 2.5 if I could do halves) I love westerns and the rodeo circuit setting of the book was very new to me and intere...more

This book addresses one of my big questions with all the MFM books I read where there is no jealousy, no competition, no hard feelings.

Lainie has been seeing both Hank amd Kyle and when she's caught, the guys suggest they embark on a threesome, a new concept for all of them. While they put it to Lainie that they don't want her to have to choose, and neither one is ready to give her up, in reality both men are vying for her affection amd to be the one she chooses in the end. That was where I felt...more

4 1/2 stars - loved it!
Confession: I've been on kind of a "cowboy kick". I'd heard good things about Corralled and thought I'd check it out.

Two words: Yea Haw!!

This was a super sexy read with a great storyline to boot (<---cowboy humor, tee hee) I liked Lainey, she was a smart heroine who was at a crossroads in her life, although she didn't know it at first. She's a rodeo med tech, working two different circuits, and she's dating someone on each circuit, Hank and Kyle. What she doesn't realiz...more

Contemporary Western-August 3 2010
4 ½ stars

This is one hot and sexy contemporary western! Usually I don’t care for western romances as much because many times they don’t seem authentic but this book surprised me. It really felt like the untamed, rough and tumble world of the rodeo cowboy. This author knows what she writes about!

In Corralled, Lainie Capshaw has a problem. A problem most women would love to have. She has been seeing 2 sexy cowboys. And although neither h...more

Lorelei James weaves an evocative tale about a woman who is force to choose between two men who want her. Fans of the Rough Riders series gear up for another wild and erotic cowboy story in a new series.

Laine Capshaw is a med tech for Lariat Sports Medicine traveling the rodeo circuits helping the injured cowboys. She has a no-dating cowboy rule but when she met two men on two different circuits she finds herself drawn to them both. Hank Lawson and Kyle Gilchrist is every woman’s dream and the o...more

my rating: I hate it and I want to return it
This book was a surprisingly bad book from this author. Why did you write the heroine like this, she had no depth except for the repeated vague unsettled feeling she had about her father. It was almost like the author was trying to hard to give her an issue to grapple with to the end of thickening the plot like someone would add too much cornstarch to thicken a gravy, bleck, was my response. Granted the job of the author is a big one, in that all the...more

Ahh Lorelei James never lets me down! Handsome cowboys, steamy sex, and a great story..just what I look for in a Cowboy Romance!

Description:

First in a new series about some hard-riding rodeo cowboys...and the women who can rein them in.

Sports therapist Lainie Capshaw has been rehabilitating injured cowboys long enough to know that a charming western drawl combined with a fine physical form doesn't mean you fall for the man.

So no one is more surprised than Lainie when she finds herself involved...more

Hank, a bullfighter within the rodeo world, and Kyle, a bullrider, are old frineds. They compete on different rodeo circuits so it's a shock to find out they are both seeing the same medical tech, Lainie, when they end up on the same circuit. Lainie is attracted to them both and won't choose between them. The men come up with what they consider the perfect solution. They will share her and become a threesome. The sex is hot and plentiful. I liked the way Lorelei James moves the story between the...more

Sexy cowboys!

I recommend that you not have read her previous
cowboy books published with Samhain.
Why did I read it?
I read this because I really enjoyed her Samhain cowboys
(The Rough Rider series)

My Rambles:
I was hugely disappointed with this book. It definitely did not meet my expectations. I have read Ms. James' Rough Rider series available through Samhain and ultimately didn't see the difference. I really expected more.

Lainie Capshaw had it really great for a little while. For six months she had CRA cowboy Hank Lawson in her bed. . . and then for three months she also had EBS bull-rider hunk Kyle Gilchrist between her sheets. Then it all went wrong. Hank found out about Kyle, and Lainie discovered that the two men she was two-timing were old friends from Muddy Gap. What are the chances? Lainie is quite happy to tuck tail and run from her slutty mistake. . . but both Hank and Kyle don’t like the idea of giving...more

This book started out really slow for me. It took me forever to get through the first 65%. After that, I couldn't stop reading it. So, this is more like a 3.5 rating. I can't wait to read the next installment.

Man, what a disappointment! I love me some Lorelei James and her Sexy Wyoming Up-for-Anything Cowboys AND their ropes but this one just fell short!

I read this book because I want to read Saddled and Spurred. I know, I can just read Saddled and Spurred but I have a OCD problem where I HAVE to read to the books in order. I read the Black Dagger Brotherhood books out of order and was confused as all get up. I read the Rough Riders series out of order and was beyond confused as to who was married to...more

2 ½ stars. Not as good as some of her other books. Story could have been better. I wasn’t emotionally pulled in enough.

STORY BRIEF:
Lainie is a medical technician who travels the rodeo circuit to treat injuries of contestants. She begins a relationship with Hank, a bullfighter. Later she meets Kyle, a bull rider, and starts seeing him as well. The two men have always been in different locations until one event where all three are together. The guys find out Lainie has been dating the other, and L...more

Corralled is the first book in Lorelei James’s new Blacktop Cowboy series. This was one of my most anticipated reads this year because I am completely and utterly devoted and in love with her Rough Riders series. I’ve come to expect an emotional and compelling read that goes well beyond what you might expect from an erotic romance. Yes, these books are hot, hot, hot, but it’s the emotion and the characters that drive the story which make her love scenes beyond compare. She’s my favorite contempo...more

Cowboys are yummy. At least that is the consensus among my friends who have read Lorelei James’ books. When I saw that Lorelei wrote a new series and that the first book had just arrived in stores, I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to find out for myself if cowboys are indeed yumminess incarnate. I actually received advice before starting this book. I was told to expect lots of hotness and lots of lube. Oh boy…

That advice was bang on the mark. I didn’t read the back of the book caref...more

I have heard so many good things about this author, so I decided to try this first book in the newest series. I almost put it down after the first half. The writing is good and I really liked Lainie and Hank, but I couldn't stand Kyle. The other thing that bothered me was the competitive nature of the men's relationship with Lainie. I'm glad that I didn't stop reading, because in the end I enjoyed the book. The premise is different take on the menage romance and didn't really work for me. Both m...more

A bit about me: When I'm not squirreled away behind my laptop writing fun, sexy, contemporary erotic romances set in the modern day Wild West, I can be found reading everything under the sun, practicing yoga until I’m a pretzel, shootin' my .22, watching the Professional Bull Riders tour on Versus, and running a kid's taxi service, all in the guise of avoiding housework and rustlin' up vittles.
