There is no hurt so great that love cannot heal it

Nathan Hurst hated Christmas. For the rest of the world it was a day of joy and celebration; for Nathan it was simply a reminder of the event that destroyed his childhood until a snowstorm, a cancelled flight, and an unexpected meeting with a young mother and her very special son would show him that Christmas is indeed

The Gift is a truly beautiful Christmas story, but readers have to kind of suspend disbelief while going through it to really enjoy it and get the gist of its message.

As you can see, I am on fire with this author. I went to the library and found two more that I haven't read. I think there are a couple more yet.
This is about a boy who died, came back to life, but had a power to heal. It really takes off and you can't leave it alone. Every story Richard puts a piece of himself into it in some way. In this one, the main character has some "tics" from that disease which causes that...and is healed from it. Richard has that disease also, and he explains about it i

This was a typical Richard Paul Evans book. I have to say I love The Christmas Box, so I am not necessarily anti Richard Paul Evans. The problem with this book is that it was very predictable and unbelievable. From the first chapter, I had some parts of the story figured out. The good guys were unbelievably very good, the bad guys were unbelievably very bad. Could they get any worse than the ex-husband or the sick millionaire? I don't think so. The gift in the story wasn't believable. Some of th ...more

I don't know where to begin on a review for this book. This book was $15 more then I usually pay for an e book, unless it's from an author I really love and just really want the book. I read the synopsis of this book and then stuck it on my wish list to read later but I could not stop thinking about it, there was just something drawing me to this book so I bought it. I'm so happy I did!
This is unlike any "Christmas story" I have ever read, no not because it's heart breaking, a lot of them are. I

This story is a Hymn to life's capacity for compassion and transformation. Little boy Collin is a "Christ - like" character, who can love so deeply that he gives his life for others, withering out as he uses his healing gift... The books characters find much needed peace, when they face their past with the courage to forgive others and, most importantly, themselves!!!!
A wonderfully inspiring book, absolutely a Good Read!

Typically I don't like stories where a child dies, but this story was very thought-provoking and heartwarming.

I really really liked this book. I gave it a four out of five in the rating because it was so captivating and I felt like I was actually living the whole story. I would strongly recommend this book to all teenage kids to read. I think it would make a person a little more sensitive to the world around them. That is important, specially in junior high.

I enjoyed this book because it was exciting and just a good book but it was pretty sad too. I sometimes wondered what it would be like to have the p

The Gift was just that, a gift to read. I was moved by the story, the power of physical and emotional healing and a reminder of the impact we can leave on those we come in contact with throughout our lives. We all have a gift to give to those we love, in one form or another. The greatest gift we could ever give doesn't cost us money or come wrapped in a package. This book left me wondering what my loved ones would say about the imprint I might leave on their lives when I am called home. Will my ...more

Have recently discovered Richard Paul Evans. Have enjoyed all of his books that I have read. Like the others this one was well-written, easy to read, kept my interest throughout, had interesting characters who I connected with and most of all the book had a good message and inspirational standards/ideas to live by. I cannot imagine anyone not enjoying this book. A very big plus!!

If you're looking for a (relatively) light-hearted, easy read, pick up this book. There wasn't a whole lot of "meat" to the plot, but it was enjoyable to read and it held my interest. You could probably power through this in a few days.

A very simple story. Did not appeal to me. Written for women. Author is like many Christians I know who only want the "Right" kinds of people to experience God's blessings. I will not read this author again.

The Gift is really heartwarming! The Christmas Spirit is all throughout this novel. An emotional story that comes from the heart in the only way that Richard Paul Evans seems capable of doing. A must read for the Holidays!
