Hannah’s Luck is a pretty typical, formulaic story by Lora Leigh...with a cold, gruff, horny alpha cop frustrated by his rampant lust for a sweet kindergarten teacher, so he treats her like crap and pushes her away. But then of course, when burglars break in and vandalize her home, he comes charging to the rescue and after one explosive kiss demands her total submission. In Lora Leigh's Hannah’s Luck sheriff Rick Grayson has desired kindergarten teacher for four years, watching her longingly from afar, keeping his distance because of a brutal betrayal in his past. Now, someone is targeting Hannah and Rick suspects it’s all about him. And he’s determined to do anything to protect her, claim her, and make those threatening her pay.

Four story anthology of moderately erotic romantic suspense stories, more about romance than suspense. Which should be a given because the stories are all 80-100 pages.
Hannah's Luck by Lora Leigh
Series Note:
Leigh's website says this is the 2nd book in her "Wounded Warriors" series, connected in theme, I think, to a novella she released last year. But it has a greater connection to her "Tempting SEALs/Elite Ops" series. This novella has a pretty direct connection to Wild Card (Elite Ops #1). It...more

Wow. I'm really glad I didn't buy this book, it was one I happened to pick up at the library. The stories are short. Like, real short. Four in this book. Which means the authors were not only cramped in their style, they really had to work fast and it didn't make for good reading. I ended up skimming most of the stories. I'm not going to count any of these authors out by I'm also not going to look for them on purpose.

This was a great book. I would rate it a 4 1/2 stars but that's not on the scale so I'll move it up to a 5 stars. I would recommend this book if you like action, sex, suspense, sex, mystery, and more sex. It contained four stories in all. First story "Hannah's Luck" by Lora Leigh was excellent! A 5 star story, it's #4.5 in the Elite Ops series. It was emotionally and sexually charged from the beginning. Leigh did a great job in playing the story out in about 83 pages and wrapping it up nicely. I...more

This is my second special ops-ish Non-PNR short story collection this week, Men of Danger was a really mixed collection as far as enjoyment went for me, but I must say that the stories were all a decent length.
I Grant's case this was not a plus, she spent a great deal of time at the start of the story with the singing diva leading lady's leechy siblings and with the leading man's friends family. I had a hard time wading though the muddle of all of this side business in the story and gave up befo...more

It's been too long since I finished this book to leave a decent review. I'm just jotting some notes that might trigger my memory later. I do recall all the stories involving a good bit of steam and a fair bit of mystery.

This was an ok anthology. A little hit or miss. It felt like parts of the story were missing for some of them.
Lora Leigh did her usual. I'm not familiar with the characters so I may not have read the books they previously appeared in. Of all the suspenseful elements, hers was the out of left field one for me. Strange culprit I guess. I think I prefer her Breed stories over any of her other series.

The only story that didn't belong in the action packed page burner set of wonderfully written quickies, was "Tempt Me".

This was OK. I got it primarily for the Lora Leigh book. She obviously didn't keep track of what she had written in this story. On page Hannah, the main character, says she's 30. She's a kindergarden teacher. On one page Hannah says she had had all 3 of Mae's kids in her class. Then on another page Mae only had 1 kid and he had died in Irag several years ago. If her kid was 18 when he died, lets say 5 yrs ago, that would mean Hannah would have to have been a Kingergarden teacher at age 12. Error...more
I loved this anthology from the first novella to the last. Lora Leigh's Elite Ops, once again, phenomenal. The characters had undeniable chemistry and the story was good.
Red Garnier’s Reckless and Yours had me near tears the whole way through. The story itself had a great mystery but the real page-turner is the couple. Emotionally gripping beyond reasoning, I just couldn’t put it down. I think this may have been my favorite of the four.

This rating is only for the first two stories in this anthology:
1. Hannah's Luck by Lora Leigh (Wounded Warriors, #2) was a neat short story centering on Sheriff Rick Grayson (originally in Wild Card (Elite Ops, #1) as a supporting character. Rick's wife, Sienna, was involved in the Black Collar Militia (BCM) and was killed. I can't remember if Hannah was first introduced in an earlier book, but she was the Kindergarten teacher of Rick and Sienna's son, Kent.

Four pretty hot romantic suspense stories, with varying degrees of heat, but all featuring alpha protectors...
Hannah's Luck by Lora Leigh is an offshoot of the book Wild Card and features 37-year-old widower Sheriff Rick Grayson. In "Wild Card", his faithless wife Sienna was involved with the Black Collar Militia--a white supremicist group that targeted Mexican illegal aliens. Rick feels all kinds of guilt that she played him and used info from his office to keep her group and its activities ali...more

My favorite story of the four was Reckless and Yours by Red Garnier...Wow I really fell for these two characters. The girl has amnesia and doesn't remember her love affair as a teenager with the guy. He has waited for her and the passion and love he feels for her just drips off the pages. I loved this story and wished it would have lasted longer. Its still one of those stories I keep thinking about. This one I would rate a 5 stars! But the overall book a 4 stars...worth the read.
I really didn't like any of these novellas. I was intrigued by the title and cover back in the spring when it came out but didn't buy it because I really don't follow any of the authors. I just picked it up at a library book sale and I'm glad I didn't pay full price. I found some of the language offensive, I thought the dialogue was stilted, and I really didn't find some of the plot lines plausible. I liked the Lora Leigh story the best, but still only give that 3 stars.
I read 3 of the 4 stories in this book. I really liked the Lora Leigh story. Hot sex scenes and a decent story, considering it was a novella. 4.5 stars

In Reckless & Yours, Red Grainger needs to learn the meaning of the adjectives she uses and apply them properly. Jerky writing.
Alexis Grant's Tempt Me was nicely done.
Lora Leigh's Hannah's Luck is sorta, kinda Elite Ops-ish (seems to take place after the surprise attack on the group in the cave). Sweet story.
Lori O'Clare's Love Me 'Til Death was sweet.

Lori O'Clare's Love Me 'Til Death was sweet.
got this book to finish up on lora leigh but enjoyed most of it. I was a little put off.with how alexis grant portrayed Anita brown. she was sassy and smart with zach but when she was with her brothers she talked like she never left her old.neighborhood. seemed a little cliche. otherwise I did enjoy that story. I really enjoyed Lori o'Clare's book. ashley and Chase had great chemistry.
The first story Hannah's Luck by Lora Leigh and the last story by Lorie O'Clare 'Love me till death' were good. Reckless and yours by Red Garnier was ok but I didn't really like the third one Tempt me by Alexis Grant I got bored reading it and skipped some of it.
Elite Ops - I was wondering what would happen to poor Rick after what he found out about his coke whore of a wife Sienna. I am so happy for him! He made for a great sub character in the first book of the series, and he also made a great character in his own novella! Very good read! Great closure for Rick's character!

Four short stories in this collection. I pretty much thought the first story was meh. The second story was not bad. The third story started well but had such a total crap ending. The last story starts badly and doesn't get any better.

Lora Leigh lives in the rolling hills of Kentucky, often found absorbing the ambience of this peaceful setting. She dreams in bright, vivid images of the characters intent on taking over her writing life, and fights a constant battle to put them on the hard drive of her computer before they can disappear as fast as they appeared.
