Other than Catherine Anderson, I think I have found a new favorite author. Diana Palmer outdid herself when she wrote this book. The hero is amazing and he kept my interest throughout the book as a former desperado turned lawman who is surprisingly unconventional for the time he lives in. He isn't exactly a charmer and he has a dangerous edge to him which makes him especially appealing. He is an Alpha male posing as a Beta male. Had the house to myself so I read this in one evening. It is a reprint but I'm 90% sure I hadn't read the first edition. It is one of Diana Palmer's better books. I haven't liked a lot of her recent ones. I love the banter between the two characters. There always seems to be banter in her books but sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. Another good read from Diana Palmer - set in 1902 shortly after the floods that devastated Galveston, TX... typical wimpy heroine, uncertain hero - the formula never changes, but her writing remains irresistible to me. And the cover is pretty... :-)
I can't get enough of her books when i read them in a few days each book. Time to find more books of hers because i am hooked. Plus she uses character from other books and it brings a sense of connections. I cannot wait to read more.

Noelle was such an idiot in the beginning, but she more than redeemed herself at the end. I loved loved loved this book, it was beautiful <3

this is probably one of my favorite DP books because its an older classic, because she got into her more formulatic writing style!
...sigh...another wonderful story from Diana Palmer.... It was romantic, sexy, great story line with witty parts. Love the hero & heroine...
A much better Palmer book than the last I read. Still formulaic and predictable, but at its core an enjoyable mindless read.

Written Beautifully. Plus it's a Diana Palmer, need I say more!
Started out hard to get into but then I couldn't put it down.
Excellent book to read, about old days of the cowboys.
Enjoyable read. Loved the characters and the story.
Enjoyed this one. Diana Palmer tells an excellent tale.
One of the better Diana Palmer works.
Nice story, quick read.

I have promised myself to write a review for each book I finish from now on...starting with this one. I will, of course, have to comment on the preceding storylines in this series (I could have smacked both of the previous heroes...Cal and King). I am GLAD this book was not about Alan. I just can't get into Beta heroes. [shudder]

As always I love what Diana Palmer writes. I loved reading about Jared and Noelle the ancestors of Judd Dunn for Lawless.

Loved this book. I would recommend this read to other readers. Well worth it.
I totally thought this was a great read...and I didn't realize it wasn't new!
