The first in a series about Josie Pigeon, a carpenter, who inherits a construction company. The twist is that it is an all female crew!

Things are going well on the house they are remodeling until Josie finds a dead body underneath a tarp and tries to hide it. The problem actually comes when the body disappears and Josie has to figure out who did it. She does it with the help of Sam, a newcomer on the island and owner of the liquor store. 1st in Josie Pigeon mystery series set on an island near Manhattan. Thirty something Jodie is a carpenter who inherited Island Contracting. She had her small all woman contracting team are in the midst of a major remodeling of a large island mansion when she discovers a body in the home which disappears. She and the new owner of a nearby liquor store join forces to solve the murder she doesn't report because she doesn't want to slow down the construction work with a police investigation.

This is the first book in the Josie Pigeon series. I thougth it was a bit hard to understand in some places. It was about a dead body found in a house that Island Contracting was remodeling. The body went missing and Josie and an attorney try to figure out who was the person who did the crime.

The first in the Josie Pigeon Island Construction Company series about an all-women crew. The mystery was good although it was hard to imagine she could get away with hiding the crime so long.

Good start to the Josie Pigeon series. This was a somewhat unusual mystery but I did like the characters.
