This story tells about Jesses, the little bear in the early beautiful morning. Someone asking him for what will he wear in this morning. He will wear a red shirt, he will wear his pants for dance. He enjoys doing like wearing a rose between his toes, the sun on his legs, the sand on his arm and his hand in the morning. The little bear stuck in his chair at noon. At noon, he will wear carrots and pears, and a little more of celery crunch, an apple to bite, a moustache of white, juice from a pear

Jesse Bear has a lot of wardrobe changes throughout the day, though it's not what one might think. He may start the day by putting on his simple red shirt, but when he's asked what he wears, he wraps himself up in every moment. From wearing the sun on his legs and sand on his arm in the morning, wearing his carrots and peas at noon, bubbles at bath time, and kisses at bedtime, Jesse Bear certainly has a way with words.

I love it when an artist can capture the beauty in simple moments. Nancy White

This book teaches children on routine. It shows the morning, noon, and night. Also what he wears for each part of the day and how in the morning you mest get dressed and brush your teeth. During lunch he was wearing a bib and he sat down in his chair. And for the night time he needed his bath and pajamas. I like how the book started of his day and how the sun was out and by the night time Jesse described the moon and stars. It has a lot of word play using repition and rhyming. It's a fun book to ...more

I remember reading this book when I was in elementary school. The illustrations are beautiful and fun for any child to enjoy. The repetitive "Jesse Bear what will you wear?" is a great effect to keep to keep the student on track. All of the items that we do not normally think of wearing give so much more depth to the book than the single outfit the bear puts on in the morning. The fact that the verses rhyme is also great for young readers. I would read this book aloud to a kindergarten of maybe ...more

The book gives the example of sequence. Jesse indicates the activities he will engage in during the day up to when he get to bed at night. He will wear a red colored shirt and pant and he will dance with it. He will cut the rose and insert it between his toes and run in the sun He will put sand on arm and hand. Looking at the cover with two cartoon bears, one would think this is a Bernstein bears sequel or part of its series. However, the illustrations vary differently if one were to focus. The picture drawings mostly consist of house related backgrounds since most of the story revolves around a little bear and his life. The author uses poetic verses to describe what the bear will choose to wear during the time of day like morning, evening and night. Filed with colorful details in the illustrations and ...more

"Jesse Bear, What Will You Wear?" by Nancy White Carlstrom is a great book for students ages 2 to 6. There are many lessons for toddlers to learn from this story. The rhyme is upbeat and fun as well as great for young children's brain development. It teaches the basic lessons in time: morning, noon, and night. The lessons that this book teaches can be supported by the illustrations.
The artist did a wonderful job at capturing the beauty of the most basic moments. Nancy White Carlstrom gives us a

This is a really good book. The illustrations were colorful and really helped to bring out the story. I would keep this book in mind when discussing getting ready for bed at night in my class. This is a good book to read to children when they are transitioning into a bigger bed. It also contains a lot of rhyming words, which would keep the child interested in the story.

I love this book. I think that it would be great to read aloud to students around a first or second grade level. The illustrations are so colorful and exciting every student will be drawn to it. I think this book would be great to teach at the beginning of the year to teach the students about procedures during the day. This book will be a great interactive book with my students. Jesse Bear, What Will You Wear is a fun rhyming book for kids. Not only does this book teach children about rhyming but also sequencing throughout the day , morning, afternoon, and evening. This books also teaches children that rhyming can be fun and used through their daily routine. I enjoyed reading this book. It has great rhyming words and it is very engaging. This book is excellent for helping children become aware of time/different times of the day. For example, the teacher can have the children tell what they do for each part of the day. I think it's neat how you can tell what Jesse eat and where he played because it was all on his clothes. I think it would be a fun activity for children to color or design their own article of clothing describing what they do each day.

This book is a conversation between Jesse Bear and his mother. She asks him what he will wear at different parts of the day. The conversation is in rhyme and flows very well. Jesse Bear describes his clothes, and even what he will carry at different times throughout the day. At one point, Jesse Bear says he will wear sand and sunshine, and later, he will wear food! The end of the day results in Jesse Bear wearing pajamas and kisses.
The illustrations are done with watercolor, pen and ink. They a

This was a super cute book! I loved Jesse Bear. He reminded me of Little Bear but different. Jesse Bear got up in the morning and got dressed. He went outside to run around and play, especially in the sand box. He ate some lunch, got it all over himself and went back outside till his dad got home. Then he took his bath, got his pj's on, played some with his dad and then went to sleep. I loved the rhyming scheme of this book like “my shirt of read, pulled over my head.” The two-page spread of whe ...more

Jesse Bear,What Will You Wear? by Nancy Carlstrom is a good book about making choices for yourself as a child. I believe when a child choose for themselves they get a great sense of reward. They appreciate the experience a lot more that if an adult did it. Jesse Bear picked out his shirt of red pulled over his head and pants that dance.Rose between his toes and sun on his legs that run. Also, at noon he said I will wear my chair because I'm stuck there. At night time he has ants in his pants and ...more

I enjoyed reading a book about a fun, loving baby bear and what he loves to do and wear each day. The book is an easy read for young children ages 3 to 5 years old and the story has a catchy rhyme from beginning to end. The story of Jesse bear, shows what the baby bear does each part of the day, morning, noon and night and what kind of clothing is appropriate for certain activities and know when it is time to get washed up and cleaned. This fabulous book teaches your child about the daily routines of morning, afternoon, and night. Your child will have a better understanding of what will happen during the day after reading this book. The book helps a children transition from one activity to the next by preparing them. The book also teaches children about good hygiene skills and healthy nutrition diets. The bear pictures are very cute and adorable to look at; I thought it was a great choice of characters for young children.

This book is great to read to children 3 to 5 years of age if you would like to teach sequence, routine. It tells what Jesse Bear does that morning to noon to night. Also this book shows that Jesse Bear choose his own clothes and knows exactly what to do, even at night. He knows that his clothes been with him outdoor playing so he could not wear the same clothes to bed at night. By brining up that point, I think this book also teaches a child cleanliness.

cute story about about the bear wondering about what he is going to wear. He decides when he wakes up in the morning, lunch time (noon) and bedtime.

L.E. ~ Teach the times of day (breakfast, lunch, dinner, center time, outside time and home time)

Ask the children what is the 1st thing they do in the morning when they wake up. in order

what clothes do you wear when it is hot, cold, rainy, windy, ext.

can the children name the rhyming words.

This charming book can be used to teach children about parts of the body. I would also use it teach children about dressing themselves and specific times of the day along with activities during the day. The art is well done. Children and caregivers can engage in discussing the pictures to add to vocabulary (i.e., bubbles, boat, swing, eat, sleep, and blanket) to name a few words. I enjoyed the author's use of rhyming words.

In full disclosure, Rachel's mom used to read this book to her when she was younger and she loved it then. She still loves it now.

Nancy White Carlstrom's Jesse Bear, What Will You Wear? is a exactly what you would expect for a 1986 picture book. In Rachel's mind, that means perfection. While Layla is what you might call a hipster reader, she likes reading picture books from before her time. Great book with adorable illustrations for grades pre-K through 2nd. The rhythm of the text is so catchy and invites students to act out things such as dancing pants. I'd use this as a read aloud to help young students understand daily routine and making choices. This was a favorite of my now 20yr old daughter who particularly loved the pictures of Jesse in his underwear!
