This book hit straight home. I love that it’s has Hispanic culture in it and that it has FLORIDA cities involved! I myself am from Miami and hearing the book name that city filled my heart with joy. The author did an amazing job captivating the food, culture and family love in a Hispanic family. I love every part of that! Another favorite, all the songs she mentioned in the book! WOW. I know of a couple songs, but the ones I did not know I quickly looked up and enjoyed listening to them. It felt

I was really excited to sink my teeth (if you'll pardon the awful pun) into the first of Christy Trujillo's Maldito series, which she kindly sent to me for review.
The story concerns Emmy, an everyday girl attending a performing arts school and hoping to get into Music Therapy at university. She has two friends, Sarah and Chris, who are rather forgettable, as are most friends in YA supernatural romance novels. Cale Cruz comes into town, and following him are the vampires who he actual More...

This book definitely proves the saying - "Don't Judge a Book By its Cover." I don't think I would have picked this one up if the author had not requested it because the cover just looks cheesy. However, after the request came in and I realized that this was a paranormal read with Latino flare, I decided I needed to give it a try. I am always on the lookout for books with Latino characters a More...

Absolutely amazing book! I was just sent these books as PDF's by the author herself and I finished Emmy's Song within one day!
A riveting read that keeps you guessing unlike many similar genre books. Comparable to Hush Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick and The Darke Academy saga.
Fantastic depth to the characters with a complex yet understandable storyline.
I would definitely recommend reading this book! I cannot wait to start the second in the series; Emmy's Heart
