There are two questions you need to concern you with if you decide to read this:

1. How can something this offensive be so funny?
2. How are the authors getting away with it?

Cyanide & Happiness is a webcomic, and as far as I'm aware it's been partially printed in the form of two books - Of which this is the first. I would say it's a somewhat offensive, non-PC, no-holds-barred onslaught of jokes, none of which are in particularly good taste. Why did I give it four stars? Ah, yes...

I giggled like a nutter when I read this. Whilst some of the jokes pass me by, a lot of them are understandable to anyone my age and of my culture (i.e. 21 and English; I believe this c...more
As a fan of the Cyanide and Happiness webcomic, it's pretty obvious that I would like this book filled with crude, often disgusting and always non-PC comics, although I would never have spent the money to buy it even with its bonus, never-before-seen comics, (sorry Explosm, I'm happy for you and all, I'm just poor and would rather spend my money on real literature).
However I was super happy to receive this collection for Christmas, so I did enjoy reading the comics, and so I would recommend this...more

A couple of funny strips, a couple of sort-of-okay ones, and the rest pretty much follow this pattern:

"I like butter."
"You like butter?"
"I like butter."

Reading this strip on the web, where you get one every day or two probably helps to keep them fresh, but reading a hundred-odd in a row it becomes very quickly obvious that there is no tone or variation to the comic. Surprising, given four separate creators contribute, but the whole reading experience is very much like hearing the same s...more
An entertaining read, had me hooked from the first minute, great yet simple work, if you love comic strips, Cyanide and happiness is a great read, the right amount of humour and insults, make this one a keeper for the "Win" gags.

Warning : you may go to hell after reading.
A terrible, hilarious comic by a group of friends. I don't like all their jokes, but enough stick to make it worth a read. It's nice to have these in a book, rather than via a hundred clicks of a website. Volume 2 is just as good.

I love C and H but I cannot give it the full 5 stars as I dont agree with the child porn and paedophile 'humour' in this book.
The other pages are funny - there is so much you can laugh about but paedophilia isnt one of them.

Too uneven, mostly uneven toward not-funny.
The good stuff was great but the bad stuff was APPALLING. Jokes about rape, domestic violence and pedophilia are not 'edgy', they are despicable.

I expected a lot more of this. I've read the comics online and loved almost all. There was few comics in this book that made me laugh.

These comics are hilarious. I read them on the website and they're so crude and random it makes me smile every morning.
Read. Laugh. Feel terrible for laughing. Laugh some more. Then rinse and repeat.

Hilarious comics made easy to read in a portable fashion. Brought lots of laughter.

Loved it! Every toilet needs this book :)
