Nenia read this book in the comfort of her $25 self-assembly Target chair while drinking a Dr. Pepper Throw Back. She was wearing Mossimo-brand jeans that she'd gotten on 75%-off for $5, and an off-season peasant top from Kohls. As she read, she picked up her drink with a hand ending in chipped nail polish. NYC. The sparkles made up for the cheapness.

She found herself focusing on the brand names of her middle class lifestyle rather than focusing on the book itself because the book itself was dul...more

In the book, “I like it like that a Gossip girl novel”, what kept me reading was the interesting, catty, back stapping, teenage stories. I picked this book because I started watching the series on TV. And it got me interested and I wanted to see the differences. The portion of the book that was my favorite was the part where Jordy and Vanessa were on a date. The book interested me with the sneaky, evil planning, and back stapping things girls do behind even their own friend’s backs. This book ma...more

I would like to recommend this book my close friend Selena Frei. Because I always talk to her about the series and we both love gossip girl. I think the author wrote this book with the intention that this book would be great to young teens. My favorite character would have to be Jenny Humphrey because she is appealing but doesn’t let people walk over her. In the book she is caught between her relationship with Leo and her friendship with Elise Wells. I think every girl has been through that. My...more

Von Ziegesar's series about overprivileged Mahattanites moves location, all the way to the ski slopes. And Georgina Sparks is coming along for the ride, as well as the rest of the GG girl crew: Blair, Serena, Nate, Chuck Bass, etc.
Georgina does not need to be in the books. She first appeared in Because I'm Worth It, since Nate's whole weed smoking incident. He met her at the clinic and she pulled him into her world of self-destruction. Blair grimly calls her the "Miu Miu shorts slut" prior to th...more

My expectations for "I Like It Like That" weren't very high considering I had no idea what would be brought up next. But I was impressed with how, for the most part, all of the characters matured in their own ways (and how certain people are beginning to get closer in relationships-- teehee!)

Anyway, in reference to my last review, where I had begun to speculate who Gossip Girl really might be and Chuck's (view spoiler)[sexual orientation (hide spoiler)], I can now confirm the fact that Chuck is...more

Wow! What an ending! (Although I won't spoil it for those who haven't read it)

This book focuses on our favourite Upper East Siders over the course of Spring break. As always, there are new romances, fights, and plenty of drama. Serena frustrated me in this book, however, due to her constant need for attention and urge to do something wild (which, of course, Georgie catches on to - another character who lacks depth).

The love the reader feels for the characters seems to grow, though, which is quit...more

"I Like It Like That" is about Georgina and Nate getting further apart. While Blair is falling for Nate. Blairs mom is pregnant. Blair and Nate will this ruin there great friendship? Everyone said Blair and Nate are perfect for each other. The internal conflict is based on Nate which is whether he should be with Blair or Georgina. The external conflict is reflected off of Blair which is she wants to not fall for Nate because they are such great friends.
The connection that I have is a Text-To-T...more

Blair is my favorite character in the books, and close to my favorite character in the TV show. What's weird about reading these is that I can't tell if they're actually being written better as the series progressive, or if I'm just more accustomed to it and it doesn't strike me as being as shitty. It has now been a week sense I read this and all I really remember happening in this, in particular, is that Blair almost fucks Serena's brother, who is described as hot. I like that Blair keeps almos...more

After reading on and off relationship of the females character has gotten a little boring, seems as if its repetitive. The plot is very predictable but I do enjoy how the message portrays saying how freindship/love can conquer all. The author shows that Blair and Serena are able to go along well dispite their different personality portraying how oppsites can attract. In this book Blair and Sernea goes skiing, which helps them escape from stress and reality. Which also focus on other characters...more

Senior year, spring break. What other four words do you need to sum up the drama in this book?

This book is full of drinking (as always), drugs (as always), and relationships. As I've said before, I really like that Nate is beginning to mature into an adult. I'm also glad that he finally realized that Georgie is totally not even worth it. She's crazy and not the good kind. Serena on the other hand, she is constantly striving for attention. It's almost to the point where I wish I could slap her a...more

Blair moves in with Serena and they're back to being best friends. But will the love-fest last or will they end up tearing out one another's newly highlighted hair? And speaking of new, Nate is on the straight and narrow way, playing knight-in-shining-armor to his drug-crazy new girlfriend, Georgie. But he will definitely get more than he bargained for when he, Georgie, Chuck, Erik, Blair and Serena end up hanging out together in Sun Valley, Idaho.

Back in Manhattan Jenny is spending time with a...more

How I Came To Own This Book: I generally read all the GG books as they came out...at first.

The Plot: Everyone's favourite private school princesses & prepsters are back and ready for Spring Break! Blair & Serena seem to be on the ins and ready to head out on a fabulous ski trip to Idaho - where they'll tangle with ex-boytoy Nate and his new wacky girlfriend Georgie. Meanwhile back in NYC, Dan is working at a literary journal, Jenny is spending time with her new squeeze, and Vanessa might...more

This book is filled with intense drama!! This book takes gossiping to a new level where the stories barely seem realistic. I really wish I could meet the author of Gossip Girl and see why she would write such a book like this. Hidden within the gossip there is a lot of dramatic stories that seem to me unrealistic. If I were to meet the author I would want to ask her why her books seem to promote teenagers having sex and how she feels about that since she does her own children. In the book for ex...more

Hey all you wonderful Gossip Girl fans, it's Alfreda again, and I am just here to give you the scoop on the latest Gossip Girl book that I have read. Ok well the last book was amazing as many of you know, it had lots of drama and more drama, and did I mention drama? Anyway this book is even more intense then other one I told you about. In this book they had drama with more couples of course, they had drama with themselves too. So if you enjoyed the first essay, I just know that you'll love this...more

I think its really cute that serena and blair are once again best friends but do they really mean it this time? will they do something to simply piss each other off ? i really like this book and this series because blair and serena are such best friends that they will do thingsto hurt each other but in the end of the day, they're still bestfriends. i can relate to that because even though i have best friends i dont feel like we can ever be like blair and serena, having a relationship so true.

The drama was extra crazy in this one and it was really funny. Two people got put in jail because of indecency, and one girl was stranded in a toboggan. There were also some actual good parts, like how Nate quit smoking pot for most of the book to achieve his goal of lacrosse captain and to get into Brown. A surprise was put in the end when Blair's mother asked her to pick the name for the baby girl she is having. Overall, it was funny and entertaining to read.

The first four in the series were total fluffy throwaway, mostly only interesting if you are a fan of the TV series and are curious to see how the show diverges from the books (spoiler - Chuck is recreationally gay!) But this book is just out-and-out boring. Blair likes Serena's brother - fizzles into nothing when she realizes she still loves Nate. Jenny has a mysterious boyfriend - turns out that the only thing interesting about him is that he is not rich.

I had a hard time getting through this...more

These books are still bad but they ARE getting better! I'm obsessed with the show, largely due to the great music and clothes, so I'm determined to finish the series so I can know how closely it resembles the show. So far the series is very different from the show but I'm loving bisexual Chuck and his pet monkey. Some things are actually more fun in the books, I'm finding.

The fifth Gossip Girl novel covers Spring Break for the Constance Billard School girls and their guys. I would recommend this book to anyone that likes drama and a good laugh. The author's style of writing to me is unique and very descripitive. If I were to add anything to this book I would add more funny things to keep me laughing out through the book.

I finally started watching the show Gossip Girl because I figured I am far enough into the books that I don't have to worry about immeadietly finding any spoilers. Well I got super-confused from watching the show with the books. They don't really line up. I do think that they are both entertaining enough though.

This book was about how girls did certain things to get attention and to get recognized for the wrong reasons. what i learned from this book was that i don't have to do certain things just to fit in with the wrong crowd. I also learned that the when people hate on you then you know you doing something.

“Not that she didn't love almost every boy she'd ever met, and not that every boy in the world didn't totally love her. It was impossible not to. But she wanted someone to love her and shower her with attention the way only a boy who was completely in love with her could. The rare sort of love. True love. The kind of love she'd never had.” 271 people liked it
