I went into reading Her Vampire Husband expecting it to be much like Kiss Me Deadly—not amazing, light paranormal romance. I think my opinion on the book benefitted from this, but I do also believe that it was a much better offering than Kiss Me Deadly by the same author, Michele Hauf.

Blu Masterton is a werewolf princess with her knickers in a twist because her father has arranged to marry her off to old and powerful vampire, Creed Saint-Pierre, in order to form a tentative truce between the wer...more

Her Vampire Husband – Michele Hauf

She may resist his bite, but she can't resist his charms…
Werewolf princess Blu Masterson won't allow her seductive vampire husband to consummate their marriage with his bite, marking her forever. Alone in a secluded estate with her sworn enemy, Blu curses the marriage arranged to bring their rival nations together, especially since Creed Saint-Pierre calls out to her most feral desires.

When Blu uncovers her pack's secret plot to destroy the vampire nation—and C...more

Her Vampire Husband is about the marriage and alliance of two very separate worlds. Far larger than just two people, Blu and Creed's commitment is derived to heal the long time feud between the werewolf and vampire nations. Both parties sign a tenacious peace contract and wait anxiously to see how the marriage will take. Neither Blu nor Creed knows what to expect from each other as a species or as a couple. Both are plunged into an uncomfortable and seemingly hopeless marriage.

I have to admit, I happened across this book by chance and thought ... Why not, I'll give it a go and to my surprise I found myself totally immersed in the book and unable to put it down. I believe I read it in 2 days, I enjoyed it so much. The excitement, the angst, the mutli coloured hair and styles ... It made my day.

The main characters are Blu, a werewolf princess with enough razzed dazzle and attitude you could ever ask for in a female character and Creed, an aged old vampire who likes to...more

c2010. This was another freebie from Kindle and I did not realise that it was #3 in a series. It didn't read as such and I never felt that I was missing out on some of the back story. There are some funny parts (not ha ha) but overall an enjoyable and quick read. I recently took part in a survey about publishers and thought, at the time, that I didn't really have any particular likes or dislikes except for loving Angry Robot. But, when I first downloaded this book, I took one look at the words M...more

When I first saw this book, I was instantly curious. The blurb left me wanting the book, despite the fact I had absolutely no money to spend.
After going home and counting any and all money in my room, I went back and bought the book that had completely captured my interest.
Of course as soon as I got home I began to read it, and was pleasantly surprised. The main character is interesting, to say the least. There simply is no way to explain her without spoiling the book. The storyline had me sitti...more

ust when I think I've read all there is to read in the vampire/werewolf animosity arena, I come across a book like this, which manages to shake up the standard tropes in a really fun way.

I had no idea going into this book that it was actually the third book in a series, which may explain why I did a couple of doubletakes while reading. For those interested parties, here's the series order so far, according to the author's website:

* #1 - The Highwayman
* #2 - Moon Kissed
* #2.1 - "After The Kiss...more

Wow....what an amazing read.

This was my first vampire novel as I've always picked them up and put them down before, not knowing if I'd like them, or not. However after my daughter introduced me to the Twilight series, via DVD's and I found this one FREE for Kindle I decided to give it a go...What have I been missing out on?

I found the story about Creed (the vampire elder) and Blue (the young and apparently rare female werewolf) enthralling and beautiful at the same time. I have read some really...more

Hot is the first word that comes to mind when I think of Her Vampire Husband. Very erotic would be the second. The second reason is what kept me from really liking the book. I prefer my romances with more veiled loved scenes, although throwing in one or two really hot ones is fine. In this book every scene, whether foreplay or lovemaking was delved into in intimate detail. It was too much for me.

The storyline is interesting and original, to establish peace between two rival species Creed, a nine...more

Don't let the cheesy title put you off

Connected to her Nocturne Wicked Games series, in Her Vampire Husband Michele Hauf gives us yet another immortal pairing finding love in the arms of the enemy - a vamp and a werewolf here instead of the earlier vamp/witch couples of the earlier books. This time Michelle Hauf gets just a bit more space to work with than the rest of her Wicked Game Nocturne books to tell her story and she puts the extra pages to good use in developing both her leads and spendi...more

So, I admit, I picked this book up for free from the Amazon kindle store as something to tide me over a bit – and of course, I’m a sucker for a bargain!

Basically, the story is that a vampire (Creed) and a werewolf (Blu) are forced to wed as an attempt to solve the problems between the warring factions. However, both sides are plotting against the other – and the unlikely pair never really intended to fall in love for real. But it happens....more

I got this as a ‘filling in’ book and therefore didn’t have any major expectations. It was however a surprisingly good read.

In this world, vampires and werewolves are trying to bring peace between their 2 species. The Counsel therefore decide a high ranking vampire (Creed) should marry one of the few female werewolves (Blu) to create a show of peace between the species. Neither is particularly happy about the arrangement. Creed does it for the greater good of his tribe and Blu does it because as...more

I have been surprised by how good this book was, as I generally have found that free books I've read in the past are often not very good, I must have been reading the wrong authors!! This book was totally free and a fantastic read, I really loved Michelle Hauf's plain, clear style of writing and it was full of interesting plots, twists and some humour that made me giggle! The underlying romance was lovely and it had a well balanced spattering of steamy, sensual scenes. I loved the wild, rebellio...more

Blu and Creed... werewolf and vampire... impulsive and restrained... both submitting to a mixed marriage in the name of peace between werewolf and vampire, but both communities planning war when the other's guard is down...

Blu, the only female werewolf in her pack, therefore a princess; her father is pack alpha, and he bestows her sexual favors on those wolves he wants to reward; he killed her mother when she fell in love with a vampire, lying to Blu about her mother, and has been fostering a de...more

Admittedly, I read this book out of pure curiosity and boredom. It certainly wasn't one of the best books I've ever read, but it also wasn't a bad way to spend an evening.

The book begins with a marriage ceremony intended to ease the conflict between the vampires and the werewolves. Blu Masterson, daughter of the pack leader, and Creed Saint-Pierre, a 900 year old vampire and tribal leader, are forced to marry in hopes of preserving their kind. Part of this marriage contract dictates that in orde...more

[I didn't realise that this is the 3rd book in a series when I read it, but I found it easy to follow. I believe the earlier books focus on different characters, so this makes a good stand alone story]

The story opens on the arranged marriage between Creed - the 900 year old leader of a vampire tribe - and Blu - a rare female werewolf and the daughter of a pack alpha. The wedding takes place as a show of trust and unity between the vamps and weres and is somehow meant to stop the threat of war b...more

Her Vampire Husband by Michele Hauf is a fun and easy read. If you’re ever bored and feel like sitting in and reading, then this is a book you’d want to consider. This is supposed to be the 3rd book in her Wicked Games series, but you don’t have to read her series. This book can be read by itself.

Creed and Blu must marry so that vampires and werewolves will finally be at peace. Blu’s father forced her to marry Creed, but it turns out that it wasn’t for peace after all… Creed Saint-Pierre is a p...more

I agree'd with most of the other reviewers that the first half of this book was AWESOME but after the half way mark just really lost steam for me.

Very interesting storyline two enemies having to marry to make peace with their clans but of course the marriage was SUPPOSE to be a faux but how on earth do a feisty werewolf and a delicious vampire not fall in love? I really enjoyed Blu's spuckiness but it was hard to see Creed a centuries old vamp talk so modern. I missed the I think I'm all that v...more

Overall I quite enjoyed this one .... and it was different to have Vamp on Were to mix things up.

I particularly liked the two main characters, Creed and Blue and found their loving story quite lovely, especially given that there were forced to marry at the very start of the book.

There were times whilst reading that it simply stopped flowing, and would then pick up.

Happy to say that if there were any editorial/typographical errors in it I didn't notice.

I've added this to my Mills & Boon folde...more

I wasn't sure what to expect when I picked this book up, but now I'm glad that I did. It was an amazing read, and has kept me entwined in the plot since I started it. I was sure that it was going to be another one of those 'vamp meets wolf, vamp tries to kill wolf, wolf fights back, vamp is surprised, vamp keeps wolf prisoner, vamp falls for wolf, wolf finally falls for vamp' books .. but it's not, its amazing and definitely worth the read; I'd definitely be interested in other titles by this au...more

Her Vampire Husband is the third book in the Wicked Games series but the author states that it can be read as a stand alone book. I have not read the first two books in the series myself so I can’t offer an opinion on whether or not that’s true.

Blu, a young female werewolf, is forced to marry Creed, an ancient vampire, in an attempt to bring peace between the warring vampire and werewolf nations. Of course they start out hating each other and then reluctantly fall in love. Even with the paranorm...more

**I received this digital copy of Her Vampire Husband for free via Net Galley in exchange for posting an honest review**

My Thoughts...

I love vampires. I love werewolves. Mix them together and throw in some conflict and you’re always bound to get heated results. Which is exactly what Blu and Creed get as a result of their arranged marriage.

In order to soothe the tensions between the two tenacious races both sides nominate a sacrifice. The werewolves offer one of their valuable females, Blu Master...more

I didn't have high hopes for this book when I saw it was a Mills & Boon as I usually find them quite monotonous. However, this was Nocturne so I took a chance. And I'm glad that I did.

It starts with the marriage of a Vampire Elder and a Werewolf Princess, so straight away you are there in the story. You don't know what has lead up to this point (especially if you didn't realise, like me, that it is part of a series!). The book follows Blu (Werewolf) and Creed (Vampire) as they get to know ea...more

I properly enjoyed this book! I think it was well written and the story was really really good! I loved the way the relationship between Creed and Blu grew and how she opened up to him, which showed alot of her background and give reasoning to her character. I liked the way the book was written from different perspectives allowing me to see what each person was thinking in the situation. I thought the ending was brilliant and how everything seemed to fall into place. I have to say it was quite d...more

Overall, I enjoyed the book but feel that it could have been so much better. I felt that the book lacked plot and substance, more detail could have been added to make things a bit more complex, but it was clear that the main focus was on the relationship between Creed and Blu. Although I loved the relationship and the teasing going on between Creed and Blu, once the sex scenes began they seemed never ending. To be honest, I preferred the deeper more meaningful conversations they had. Would have...more

France, musketeers, vampires and faeries populate her stories. And if she followed the adage 'write what you know', all her stories would have snow in them. Fortunately, she steps beyond her comfort zone and writes about countries she has never visited and of cr...more
