This is the third book in the Cape Light Series, and I found it enjoyable reading, although not as captivating as book 1. As this book opens, it is Thanksgiving and Cape Light Mayor Emily Warwick is delivering a pie to the would-be man of her dreams, Dan Forbes, who owns and publishes one of the small newspapers that serve the region. As you might predict, that relationship blossoms as this book continues.

Very enjoyable, as with the others in the series, but still some sad doctrinal flaws that are self- rather than God-focused, ex.:

She regrets all the years she spent apart from Sara due to her mother's (Lillian Warwick) influence. Emily, also, seems to be having more...more

I just love this series because the characters and the situations that their lives place them in are so true to life. There is love, anger, heartbreak, jealousy, competition, self awareness, friendship, believing in God, to questioning ones own faith, and having a sense of what family and community is all about wrapped up in one little town called Cape Light!!!! I love how the characters age range from new born, with their whole life ahead of them, to the very old, who are set in their ways and t...more

Thomas Kinkade was known as the "Painter of Light." His works, although spurned by the secular art establishment. were very popular with Christians and many others.
