This is Sandra Carrington-Smith's first book to my knowledge. It is a little jewel. Told in the voice of a wise woman in beautiful allegory, with autobiography and narrative woven in, "Housekeeping for the Soul: A Practical Guide to Restoring Your Inner Sanctuary" will change you. The way you view your home and your soul has the opportunity to be totally renovated if you follow Carrington-Smith's sage advice. I grew to eagerly anticipate the little gems of wisdom at the end of each chapter where...more

For those of you who have not met Sandra, you have truly missed an enjoyable experience with a genuine person of good will and integrity. Her book, Housekeeping for the Soul, focuses on the need to take a serious look at our inner self. For those who do not take kindly to harsh religious perspectives, this book offers a unique opportunity to discover our spiritual nature without all the baggage and judgment that may come from a fundamentalist view of spirituality. Spirituality, in its simplest e...more

The first time I held "Housekeeping for the Soul" in my hands, I knew that it was special. The title immediately captured my attention. The exquisite cover completely drew me in. Then, as I began to read the introduction, chills traveled through my entire body; I was aware that I was about to embark on a journey unlike any other, one that would deeply touch my heart.

Sandra Carrington-Smith is a very insightful, gifted writer. The stories in this book are not only relatable, but they are also bea...more

The author, Sandra-Carrington Smith is a colleague of mine. That said, I think she has written a very helpful book! The metaphor of housecleaning one’s soul as one does one’s house is an apt one, with the familiar dread at the start of the project, and the growing excitement at having made significant progress, while knowing that the process is never really complete. The comparison of closets, which are accessible, to our conscious mind, and attics, which are less so, to our subconscious mind, c...more

Housekeeping For the Soul is an amazing book. I took a long time reading it as I wanted it to really "soak in" and get the most from it. It makes you really take a long look at yourself and all of your past and present experiences. I am one of the fortunate ones that has had a blessed life without many negative experiences. However, I do have alot of clutter in my mind and soul. This book helped me to sort it all out and realize how truly blessed my life has been. I believe this book by Sandra i...more

This is the first book to combine how-to, self-help and spiritual genres, to address the needs of millions of readers, as they strive to detach from the Culture of Chaos and embrace a life of balance. It is through this inner harmony and balance that one may then create a meaningful, authentic reality. With a down-to-earth approach, the reader is guided through the process of emotional healing and renewal of spirit through the familiar analogy of housekeeping: cleaning, organizing, and 'airing o...more
