A legend/myth brought to life by a madman…

Jeremy Flynn, a serious man who doesn’t believe in what he can’t see or touch, is a private investigator with his brothers’ firm. The middle brother, he was once a police diver but quit when the last straw was when a drunk foster father drove the family into the river, drowning everyone inside. Jeremy had rescued Billy, who had been still alive when found, but pronounced at the hospital DOA. The foster children had all been tied in the back of the van; n...more

The heroine of this book, Rowenna, is described as a "stunning woman. Her hair was nearly pitch-black, her eyes strikingly amber. ... Amber, like gold, and shaded by ridiculously thick lashes. She was both tall and slim, but curved in every place where a woman should have curves." O RLY, Heather Graham? Just this once, you couldn't skip the boobs and hips and make her tall, thin, gawky, and lanky? If all of your book's heroines have bodies like this, why don't they make sensible career choices l...more

A little predictable, but some clever aspects, and wonderful characters with plenty of excitement made for a good read!

Just after Halloween, a woman is found dead in a cornfield, made to look like a scarecrow with a slashed grin and a broken neck. When another woman goes missing just steps away from her husband, who's now crazed with panic, and the local police think he's the prime suspect, he calls on his friend, former police diver Jeremy Flynn for help finding his wife.

But this is Salem, Mass...more

Aidan, Jeremy and Zach Flynn inherited a mansion outside of New Orleans from a great-aunt whom they have never heard of before her death. Aidan, the oldest of the brothers, and his now-wife Kendall deal with their own ghosts that haunt the mansion in Deadly Night.

Deadly Harvest opens in New Orleans just before Halloween as Jeremy Flynn is involved in a series of debates with Rowenna Cavanaugh on the use of paranormal abilities in detective work. Rowenna is open to the possibilities but Jeremy i...more

Jeremy Flynn is a private investigator who is trying to locate his friend Brad's missing wife. Jeremy is a skeptic who refuses to believe in anything paranormal despite his being shadowed by the ghost of Billy, the young child whose death caused him to leave his job as a police diver when he pulled Billy out of the river too late to save him.
Rowena Cavanaugh doesn't see herself as a psychic. She says she just puts herself in the shoes of the victim and can then give probabilities for what happe...more

The 2nd book that I am reviewing is Deadly Harvest by Heather Graham and is the second book in the Flynn brothers trilogy. In Deadly Harvest, Jeremy (another Flynn brother) is trying to help his good friend find his missing wife with the help of a possible pyschic named Rowenna. This was the perfect read for me right now as it was set in the fall and talked about the cooler weather and the leaves changing. Plus, it had the scary legend of the Harvest Man who was thought to be a killer coming bac...more

Heather Graham so far has a double play with "Deadly Night" and "Deadly Harvest", I loved the subtle play with the paranormal during the plot line filled with suspense and mystery. I can't wait till I read "Deadly Gift", (which I get a copy of tomorrow). If the third installment lives up to the first 2, Heather Graham will have reached that pinnacle of praises, it will end up on my re-read shelf which only the best of the best goes! :)

I liked this book more than the first book, Deadly Night. I felt the action was pumped up, the drama was pumped up. I liked the characters more.

Jeremy Flynn, the middle Flynn brother, has come up to MA to help his friend and ex-partner find his missing wife. While there he and the woman he swore to himself that he should stay away from, Rowenna, become involved in an investigation on a larger scale than they had initially expected.

The female lead, Rowenna, who may or may not be psychic. That wa...more

I very much enjoyed this book, so much so, that every time I tried to put it down yesterday, I found myself picking it back up again in a matter of moments. It was nicely creepy, with just the right amount of romance and nice characters.

I did figure out one aspect of the mystery early on, but the author still managed to surprise me with another aspect. And I know that vague, but I don't feel like using spoiler tags right now.

One thing that was a little jarring was the fact that the author tended...more

Jeremy Flynn is in Salem, Massachusetts trying to help an old friend, Brad, find his wife, Mary, who has disappeared. He is joined in his search by Rowenna Cavannaugh, a native of Salem who occasionally aids local law enforcement with her psychic visions. Although Jeremy doesn't believe in Rowenna's visions, he is strongly attracted to her, and together they work to unravel the legend of the "Harvest Man", a serial killer who has visited Salem before and may have something to do with Mary's deat...more

This is book 2 of the Flynn brothers trilogy. It's about Jeremy Flynn, the middle brother. He starts out by fighting an attraction to a woman he considers a flake: Rowenna Cavanaugh, an author who writes non-fiction about all things psychic. Jeremy gets a call from his ex-partner (he used to be a police diver) who is frantic about his missing wife, and he rushes off to Salem, Massachusetts to help. Rowena, a native and sometime resident of Salem, is also on her way home. She's gotten a call from...more

Heather Graham follows Nora Robert's successful formula of writing a trilogy of books, about 3 brothers, with supernatural elements. Felt like I was reading Nora Roberts. Plots of all 3 books feel contrived and forced; characters are interchangeable.

Another fantastic book in this series. This one gave me chills and creeped me out while reading it! I always enjoy when that happens because it doesn't happen enough. The story line is really interesting and the writer does her homework. There were mentions of Paganism and things in this and you can tell she did her homework. Too often I get frustrated with books where they just follow the trend of whatever the popular thinking is, not with this. She goes with the facts and setting things straig...more

This book was very much like the first one in the trilogy. Different characters, different location but same 'formula'. Hope the 3rd is better.

What a suspenseful story set in Salem, Mass. It has the thrill of witches, demons and such after a young woman goes missing the cemetery, with her husband right there. A popular author that is local, meets up with one the Flynn brothers and he is called in to help in finding the missing woman. Little does the she know, the author has some usually powers that she isn't even aware of and she joins in on the investigation to find the missing woman. Unfortunately, the author puts herself in the midd...more

I didn't find it up to her usual standard, guessing the identity of the "Big Bad" at first appearance.

I read Deadly Night back at the end of last year when it came out and I really enjoyed the characters. It was one of the first books I read that had ghosts in it - especially ghosts that help the living. The story stuck with me and when I found that it was a trilogy, I was knew I'd be reading the next 2 as well. The Flynn Brothers are likeable and I like that each book centers around each 1 of the brothers.

Ok. I liked the characters but the relationships were a bit more forced than in the first one. This would have been really great if it had been more focused, many of the characters are just thrown into situations that don't work well and make the whole scene more wierd than the storyline itself. I liked the idea of the book, pegan rites, sacrificial bodies tossed in corn fields, and paranormal activity but it could have been better. I think the first Flynn book was less of a disappointment.

Heather Graham is one of my favorite authors to learn from and as one of the founding members of my local writer's group, it's great to read her work as well. This book is a perfect blend of thriller, paranormal and yes romance as well. The cover makes it appear like a horror novel, but if horror is not your thing I would definitely give it a chance. It's based around Salem and thankfully not witches, but a cooler creepy legend called the Harvest Man. A good read, couldn't put it down in the end...more

3,5.

Kurang serem aaaaaah.....

Tapi brhub buku ini brgenre suspense, tetep aja asik me-nebak2 siapa pelakunya.

Another fantastic read, this is #2 in the Flynn trilogy. You may remember from book #1 that Aidan, Jeremy and Zach Flynn are all private investigators who recently "relocated" to New Orleans after inheriting an old plantation.

This story begins in New Orleans, but quickly relocates to Salem, MA @ Halloween after Mary Johnstone (a friend of Jeremy's) disappears in a cemetery.

It's salem -- so there are witches, wiccan's and more interesting characters to support this story.

The book was well put together, the plot line
was great and the characters were realistic.
Mrs. Graham did a great job...

At first I couldn't get hook to the book, was a bit
boring for my own taste but the more I read,
the more I got hooked a loved the characters.
I still prefer Aiden but I do like Jeremy,
he and Rowenna make a great couple...

The killer was my number one suspect but it
was interesting how everything came together..

The book was great..

I guess when you pick up a New York Times Bestseller, you expect that it's going to be entertaining at the least. I really didn't get into this one. It was written well, I can say that. But really the story was a drawn out who-dunnit for 400 pages, and then everything just "comes together" in the last 20 pages. The heroine just happens to be able to saw her bindings off with a rock. Where did that come from? The love story threaded throughout was believable, but the rest of it didn't work for me...more

I liked this book because they went to Salem and had breakfast a lot at Red's. They do have really good breakfast at Red's.
Also, when the hero advised the heroine to just go to one of the shops and pick up a change of clothes, she laughed at him. I laughed at him. We laughed a lot at the notion that there are no jeans, just silk blouses and some really nice capes.
The details were good.

This book was as good as the first book in this trilogy. The main characters where very believable...the scenes were very well described...felt like I was really there and even got the creeps a few times. I could feel the anxiety and concern in all the characters to find the missing women. Would recombend it to anyone who like a paranormal/mystery with a little bit of a love story thrown in for good measure.
Amy Grossman
This is the second book in her "Flynn Brothers" trilogy, and like the first book, Heather Graham did not disappoint. I love her murder mysteries - they truly do have the scare factor, along with mixing in some romance. She also introduces so many potential suspects, you are constantly guessing who the killer is, but are usually incorrect. I'm looking forward to reading the third and final book in the series!
Salley Johnson
I loved this book....I love how Heather is able to take the history of the place and the supernatural of the area and interweave it throughout the story. The main charters are wonderful and the more that you read the series of the Flynn brothers the more you respect and cherish their bond as brothers and as men.
Deb
I've read a number of Graham's books before and I've never been this disappointed. First, as a "trilogy" ... well, it's not. The only thing tying this to the first book is that the characters have brothers -- but that's so peripheral to the story. This book was formulaic, the characters were two-dimensional (if we were lucky), and full of the "tell, don't show" style of writing. I'm disgruntled enough I might not pick up the third book.
