A 4 1/2 star read. I enjoyed this book a lot, it drug a little in spots but was really good from the time the details about Rachel's brother are known until the end.
Also on audio: I wasn't able to finish the audio version....
Renee Raudman's narration of this book ruined the audio version for me. I could not finish listening to Wild Rain because she gave Rio a mean, harsh voice that remained angry in tone for the entire book. I'll give her credit for being so realistic in...more

4.5 Stars.
Very interesting story this
After the meh first book The Awakening, Wild Rain was a great read. Rachael has come to the Borneo rain forest on the run from her past. Trying to stage her own death and begin a new life in the forest, she ends up in Rio's home, thinking its only a dwelling for travellers
Rio is one of the leopard people and has 2 clouded leopards as his companions. He thinks she’s one of the poachers and in the scuffle that follows his snow leopard hurt...more

Well, well, well. My first wallbanger of the year and its from one of my favorite authors.
In a nutshell, this book sucked.
- no character development. if there's a prequel to this book it would have been nice to have read it. apparently it explains a whole heck of a lot of things.
-heroine is stupid. she is VIOLENTLY attacked by the hero's "pet leopards", nearly has her leg torn off, suffers days and weeks of fever and infection and then one da...more

I love a good shifter story. This one had the goods….but something about it rubbed me the wrong way.
The “ Rachel. Rachel. Rachel. Rachel. Rachel.” In every sentence. Yes. We know you are talking to the ONLY other person in the house.
Rachel didn’t seemed bother by the fact that this man could shift, that a huge leopard was walking around in the house rubbing himself up against her naked body. Huh? Wasn’t she just having nightmares about that? All of a sudden she is OK with...more

I am just about finished and have enjoyed it tremendously. I enjoy the Mystery/Paranormal/fantasy format. Christine Freehan is an imaginative author and knows how to grab the reader within the first few paragraphs of a book. I like her work and have read everything she has written EXCEPT the Carpathian series. Vampires just don't work for me.

This author has plenty of action; my only problem with her writing is that it includes too many passionate sex scenes. While passion and sex are great, too much of it takes away from rather than adds to the rest of the action and excitment of the story line. This is true of all the books I have read by her.

Paranormal Romance Fans
Book #2 in the Leopard series and it really ticked me off how this book was marketed. It is not NEW, but repackaged.
Warning A,: If you already have the book "Fever" you already have this book! "Fever" includes: "Wild Rain" (book #2) and "The Awakening" (book #1) in the Leopard Series. It's a large-size paperback.
This copy of "Wild Rain" is identical except the print is very small and it's in a mass market paperback....more

This book was great. I enjoyed the characters and the storyline. Another great Feehan novel not to dissapoint. It was different to read something other than Vampires and Witches...

A review states (and I agree!): "Suspense often takes a backseat to the protagonists’ romantic feelings…" I thought this panther shape-shifter idea was AWESOME! However, there was waaaaay too much sex (aka romance). It really got in the way of the story. You just want them to get over their hormones so you can get to the more exciting stuff.
CF is really good at painting the scenery, as well as the plot. You can easily visualize the rain forest and the story as it unfold...more

I absolutely loved this book. The hero was so cool and awesome. The heroine was neat and definitely not wimpy.

It was a good story but it got very descriptive about the rainforest and to me slowed down the action considerably.

A fellow bookstore employee dared me to read this once. It was not good, to say the least.

Well, I must say that I enjoyed this book. I didn't expect much going in, but I was pleasantly surprised. While Rachel's accepting and understanding nature was a bit of a stretch (damn sure I wouldn't be petting the Leopard that had tried to chew my leg off), I liked both characters, beautiful setting, and different aspect to the shape-changing story. The only thing I might have wished for was a bit more explanation about their past life together. It was never really resolved. Now I am look...more
