My second Nora Roberts book and I loved it just as much as the first.

The chemistry between Matthew and Tate was sweet (as young adults) and then evolved into something fiery and substantial after they re-united (not without drama along the way, of course).

I liked both Matthew and Tate individually, as well as a couple, and enjoyed reading about their lives during their time apart. I thought this gave a lot of depth to their characters.

I enjoyed the twist(s) in the story at the end (Go Teams Bea
This is probably one of my favorite Nora Roberts books. The villian was certainly a man to fear. I had no idea that this book had 2 different time frames and thought it a bit strange that the story started out with a 19 year old and a 25 year old. For Nora Roberts readers you know that her main characters are generally in their late 20's early 30's. It made sense when the story shifted 8 years later. I really enjoyed this book. The other Nora Roberts books I have been reading lately, although en ...more

I loved all the information about diving/wreck hunting/ and scavenging. The ocean and adventures were beautifully described and it made me want to buy a boat and take some scuba diving lessons. Marla and Ray were a great couple and wonderful parents. Buck was a great crotchety old man and Uncle and I was glad that his character came around after the shark incident. Angeligues curse and the fabled necklace gave the book the right amount of magic and wonder.
Really, the only thing that kept this
I bought this book at the airport because I had finished my other book and had forgotten my second book at home. I knew it wasn't going to be the great American novel, but Nora Roberts, for what she does, usually delivers with a good beach read/plane read.

I have read some Nora Roberts in my day and this was definitely one of my least favorite. Well, of course I had to finish it. I mean, it's so easy to read and I bought the freaking book. But most Nora Roberts books, I want to go back and re-rea
I really needed a mindless break from work and literary reading I have been doing lately and nothing soothes me quite like a Nora Roberts book. The problem? I have read all of her books and don't normally reread....I made an exception and revisited the first ever NR book that I read (stolen off my mom's shelf in 1998 at the young age of 15). The white sand beach and palm tree on the front cover enticed me to enter the world of Tate, a 20 year old woman who is in college to become a marine archae ...more
I don't usually read romance novels, but this was lying around the house (my mum got it for my sister) and I was bored. I'm giving it two stars for the unintentional hilarity; the plot and characterisation get no stars. (Yes, she'd been kissed before. But she knew the difference between boy and man. It was a man who held her, drew from her. It was a man she wanted. [...:] "You want to make love with me." Her chin came up. Her eyes, all at once, were a woman's, and just as mysterious. Don't let the number of stars I gave this book full you - it was certainly a good story and I would recommend it to any Nora Roberts fan. This is the second of NR's earlier novels that I've read recentley, and I have to admit, I find them a bit refreshing compared to some of the books she is putting out now - same plotline, same couple, different know what I am saying if you have read more than one of her books. That's not to say that I don't enjoy her current works, I do, very much. ...more

This was a really nice read by Nora Roberts. All of the ocean imagery was done really well on Roberts's part. The details of the ocean life and diving really made me feel like I was a bystander on the boat watching the characters dive for treasure. Nora Roberts, in my opinion, has never had problems immersing the readers in her stories, fully committing to what the characters do. Now I don't know how a professional diver would feel reading this book, but for an unprofessional like myself (actual ...more

I am not going to review every Nora Roberts book that I have read in the past because she is quite prolific and it would get redundant and I honestly cannot remember all the plots. I think someone finds someone else attractive but at least one cannot admit it so there is sexual tension, then lots of sex, and then they live happily ever after? Sometimes there is some magic , a family legacy, or a mystery. Certainly not great works of literature (however still 100% better than “the grapes of wrath ...more
One of the best parts about traveling for me it picking a book to take along. This time around we went to Hawaii, and I was looking for something good to lounge with on the beach. The Reef was it - a perfect beach read. It is a story set in the Pacific, entwined with murder, greed, passion, piracy, a nasty bad guy, cursed amulets, and romance. All of the elements which make for good vacation reading. Tate Beaumont is a marine biologist with a passion for treasure hunting. She and her family form ...more

Good quick read, focused on St Kitts and Nevis which I'm interested in because of a vet school there.....interesting plot ... Got me thinking, are there really shipwrecks out there to be found? Enjoyed the story

From #1 New York Times bestselling author Nora Roberts comes an exciting tale that takes readers to the depths of the Caribbean…and the heights of passion and suspense.

Marine archeologist Tate Beaumont has a passion for treasure-hunting. I am never a fan of deep-sea diving nor does it interest me to know anything about the world beneath but this book made me see a different world unknown to me and it has given me the most wonderful "deep-sea" adventure ever. Suspense, mystery, romance...all in one. I enjoyed every page! After Morrigan's Cross and now this, Nora Roberts has now become one of my favorite authors.

This is a fantastic book, I think it was the first book that I read of Nora Roberts and it's still a favourite. I love the main characters and how Nora writes it makes the writing leap off the page. I thought that the story had everything you could want, romance, adventure, a bit of a crime/thriller. Set against the Caribbean, just what you need during the winter months.
College student Tate Beaumont is spending the summer with her parents hunting for sunken treasure. They meet salvagers Buck and Matthew Lassiter, and realize they too are searching for the famous jeweled amulet "Angelique's Curse" which went down with a ship. Deciding to become partners and share any treasure they find, the group stumbles onto an old Spanish Galleon with a fortune in gold. As Tate and Matthew grow closer, an evil man from the past may just drive them apart.

This was an interestin
Middle-of-the road NR book about searching for sunken treasure. A lot of similarities to her early "Treasures Lost, Treasures Found," but much more depth and detail, and a truly scary evil villain. Worth reading.
I enjoyed this book! Made me realize how much I miss diving! She did a great job in her description of the undersea experience. Exciting treasure hunting with a love story and action! Easy read!
This book was filled with adventure, knowledge, friendship, greed, and love. It was my first Nora Roberts book and you better believe that I'll be buying more. This book was based in the Caribbean.

Who doesn't believe in curses? The Reef was about Angelique's Curse. You can choose to believe in curses or not. Some of the characters went back and forth with the idea. I believe in curses and things that can't be explained. It makes life interesting!

This adventure with the Beaumont and Lassiter fami
Predictable but entertaining. A nice read for a rainy winter day.
Um livro delicioso para ler no Verão.

I always enjoy a Nora Roberts story line and especially enjoyed the elements of treasure hunting and sea life present within this Roberts tale. And, though, nothing less of a cheesy (yet begrudgingly enjoyable) romance can be expected from this author, I didn't believe this love story. I understand a basis for lust with two young and attractive people out at sea for weeks or months on end, but why do these two characters love each other? Their story line felt shallow, rushed, and unbelievable to ...more

Eleanor Marie Robertson was born on October 10, 1950 in Silver Spring, Maryland, USA. She was the youngest of five children, also the only girl, of a marriage with Irish ancestors. Her family were avid readers, so books were always important in her life. She attended a Catholic school and credits the nuns with instilling in her a sense of discipline. During her

“I'm not asking you for a second chance. I know better than that. But you've got no right to ask me to settle for sex then expect me to give up the one thing that's kept me going. I gave you up, now I'm taking what's left.”
“You didn't give me up,” she tossed back. “You never wanted me.”
“I never wanted anything the way I wanted you. I loved you.” He dragged her painfully to her toes. “I've always loved you. I cut my own heart out when I sent you away.”
“You said we've got a new page. I figure I've got some say in what gets written on it. So I'm going to work on you. Last time around, you threw yourself at me.” “I did no such thing.”
“Sure you did. But I can see I've got my work cut out for me this time. That's okay.” He skimmed his thumb over her knuckles before she jerked her hand free. “In fact, I think I'm going to enjoy it.”
“I don't know why I waste my time trying to mend fences with you. You're as arrogant as you ever were.”
“Just the way you like me, sweetheart.”
