Shelves: study-guides
Yeah, this was definitely a necessity when reading Fellowship, especially when it came time for the dreaded Council of Elrond. I didn't like how some of the chapters were combined, but I guess they did it to make things easier. Some of the analysis were fun to read, but others felt like they were reaching a bit. Still, I'm not sure how I would have made it through Lord of the Rings without this.

Many of the editions by this group of authors are actually guides to books rather than the works.

If the author of the SparkNotes is known, they should be the first author. Please leave these SparkNotes Editors as the second author and the author of the original work as the last author. Do not combine with the original work. Do not put the author of the ORIGINAL work first.
