Mon avis en Français

My English review

I do talk about my series OCD sometimes, and here I made a mistake, that in the end turned out great. I thought this was one of those normal PNR series, you know, a new couple in each. Since I did check the previous books, or perhaps I dreamed it. Anyway, my point is that this was book 4, and all the previous books were all about Sarah. Still it worked, cos of the beginning I thought this was her "book 1", and first when something was mentioned that happened 2 weeks ago I thought, huh..that woul ...more

Poor cursed Sarah! Only a vampire for two and a half months and she gets betrayed by a friend, staked, and then zapped by a witch. Not all at once, but still! If the story weren't so good, you would quietly close it in sympathy. Problem is, it is a really good story, so you'll just have put aside your heart-felt feelings, stop cursing that evil author (Yes, Michelle, I mean you), and read on through to the end. Thank the gods that this is a series and we can look forward to Tall, Dark, & Fan ...more

This book was the best one of the series so far! It really shows you why Sarah loves Theirry and it makes the reader fall for him too! There is a clifhanger ending because the last book in the series will be out in the fall! I really like this character, I will be sad to see the series end!

I will have to say that this one was kind of lagging for me a little bit. In truth, I think it was just missing Quinn a little bit. haha.

About halfway through, I was back to giggling to myself every few moments and all was right with the world.

"'Tell me something I don't know. But even with our issues we're still together. Even though everybody and their pet rabbit thinks we're doomed."

He raised a dark eyebrow. 'Who thinks we're doomed?'

'Everybody. And their pet rabbit.'

Inhalt: Das 4.

Well, I sat and read this one cover to cover yesterday. The fourth book in the Immortality Bites series, I had none of the previous books but that had no impact on the enjoyment of this one. Stakes and Stilettos is a good story, though a bit choppy in spots and a the plot was more predictable than I'd like. The heroine, a 10 week 'old' fledgling vampire, Sarah Dearly, who seems to be a magnet for trouble. All she wants is a 'normal' life as a vampire. Her 'boyfriend' is a 700 year old vampire th ...more

However, Sarah's 600-year-old vamp boyfriend Thierry informs her that he knows the real Red Devil and that this one is not to be trusted.

I cannot overly state how amazing this book was. I read the entire series for two days. It was UNPUTDOWNABLE! . Michelle Rowen brings Sarah Dearly back for her fourth book in the Immortality Bites series. Dearly has recently been turned into a vampire and has just started adjusting to things when she stumbles into a witch, Stacy, with a grudge. Stacy decides to make Dearly's adjustment period a bit more complex by placing a curse on her that turns her into a bloodthirsty nightwalker instead of the sweet vampire that was able to drink from the carton rather than the neck. Sarah has to race against the cloc ...more

Sarah Dearly has just joined the dark side as a nightwalker. It happened two and a half months ago. She went on a blind date. Yes, you guessed it a dreaded blind date story. Her date decided to take a bite. Let me tell you it was anything but …dear-ling. Ok, so groan for the bad pun.

All Sarah wants to do is live a normal life but how normal can one really live as a vampire. Sarah goes for an interview, sure she is a shoo in, only to be staked but the interviewers. Talk about willing to sacrific

With this entry in the series, we're back with Sarah Dearly and her master vampire boyfriend, Thierry (and in this one I finally found out how to prounounce his name properly when he enuciated it for someone who said it wrong - note to author, you could have done that in the first book!).

As we know from Sarah's previous book, she has been looking forward to going to her home town to attend her high school reunion. But at the reunion, she is confronted by a former classmate, who she doesn't reme

Sarah Dearly's life sucks, literally.

Newly made vampire Sarah, just wants to go back to the good old days when she had a job and, most of all, didn't have to drink blood. Unfortunately, Sarah knows that the vamp virus is permanent. In hopes of having some normal aspect in her life, Sarah applies for a normal job, only to get staked in the process. Luckily, a masked vampire known as the red devil who just happened to be laying dormant for the past hundreds of years chooses that exact moment to sa

OK after reading the 4th book in this series I finally get it …. The author likes to write romance without sex scenes. Which really kind of irked me, cuz I was use to the writing styles of Katie Macalister and Alexander Ivy. Moving past that, I have to say I really enjoyed reading about the trials and tribulations of one Sarah Dearly, vampire. Yes, I’ll be quite happy when Sarah and Thierry get their HEA and the bad guys get staked; in the 5th and final book in the series…. Tall dark and fangsom ...more

It took me about 100 pages to get into the book, maybe because I haven’t read the earlier books in the series so I still had to get a feel for the characters. Sarah struck me as sort of a ditz but Thierry definitely strikes me as one of those guys you have to sigh and stare at thnking they are hot but you can never get near them. Once the story did draw me in I could not wait until the end only to find it was a cliff hanger. You have to read the next book to find out what happens so of course I ...more

Another great installment in the "Immortality Bites" series! This book is pretty much exactly what I expected from the series. It was easily as good as the first book, better than the second, but still ranks a little lower than the third. There were several plot twists that really threw me off and kept mt interested in reading more, so that was a plus! That last three chapters (technically the last two plus the interlude) were amazing! they were so fast-paced and so much happened all at once! I ...more

To be fair, I didn't realize this was a series when I began reading "Stakes and Stilettos" so I didn't understand the constant references to things that had happened in the last 10 weeks of the often-in-danger fledgling vampire, Sarah's life. Also, paranormal slap-stick isn't my cup of tea.

That being said, this book failed to hold my interest. I found the characters a bit flat, so even though the writing was solid, I wasn't intrigued to see if the heroine would survive her many, many perils, or
This installment goes back to Sarah and Thierry and their new set of problems. On a trip to her high school reunion, Sarah gets lucky enough to bump into a classmate with a long-standing grudge. She curses Sarah to become all the stereotypical vampire qualities. Blood lust, burns in the sun, mind control. This is bad cause it makes Sarah now uncontrollable over her own actions.

I didn't rate this too high because Sarah's and Amy's teenaged mentality in 30-year old bodies finally started to wear
I don't usually read a series out of order, but I happened to have bought this one randomly and decided to give it a try. It's pretty good, if you like chick lit contemporary fantasy/paranormal romance. I'm talking to you - Queen Betsy fans. If you don't like the everyday girl chick lit vibe+vampires, you will hate this. I'm so-so on it. The writing is fine, but I'm not in love with the characters or story, so I stopped on page 105. I just checked, and my guess of who the bad guy will turn out t ...more
Strangely, I had not marked off this book as being "read" but instead as being on my "to-read" list. Upon reading this, however, I think that I have actually read this book before. Some details sounded familiar to me. That being said, I still enjoyed this a second time round. It has a good mix of humour, vampires, and crazy bitch-witches. I love the Canadian setting (Toronto) and how Rowen takes scenes that are cliche in movies/books and turns them on their heads. For example, (view spoiler) ...more

This is the 4th installment in the Immortality bites series.
It is hard to believe that all the books take place in a 10 week time frame!
Poor Sara has gotten herself into a mess this time! All She wanted to do is go to her high school reunion, with her gorgeous 600-year-old boyfriend. Add to the mix a mysterious stranger. Vampire hunters. A angry ex class mate that just happens to be a witch. And her Thierry's wife..
This book is packed full of twists and turns.

Every one of the Immortality Bites series has been a winner for me. I find the humor biting and the writing so clever. They are just super fun books to read when in the mood for something light but not roll-the-eyes stupid. After finishing Stakes and Stilettos, I am dreading that there is only one more Sarah Dearly installment left. I look forward to reading it, however, at the same time, I will miss her. She's a fantastic character, as are her friends and, of course, Thierry. Wish Ms Rowen woul ...more
