Duncan is in awe of Lewis and Clark and he openly shows his admiration as he publishes speeches and other writings about the expedition. I enjoyed his thoughts, summaries and analysis as he added a layer to my earlier readings, especially the journals previously edited by DeVoto. With DeVoto's work as a backdrop, these speeches and essays by Duncan highlighted aspects of the Core of Discovery in ways I had not considered.
