Well, I didn't realize this book was at the end of a series, although it isn't included in the call series on Caridad Piñeiro's page. It clearly WAS part of the series. I felt like I was missing something through out most of the book, because so much had already happen. All of the characters had a lot of history with each other that I was clueless about. That aside, I was really attracted to the love story. It would have been like if Edward couldn't have controlled himself with Bella. Blake turn...more
Blake Richards is a vampire haunted by the past.
Four years ago, he was forced to either sire Meghan Thomas, making her a vampire, or risk having her die. So he did the only thing he could do and turned her…and lost the only woman he had ever loved.
Though he is still tortured by his love for her, Blake knows that he will have to make it up to her, somehow. And maybe then, she can forgive him…
Angry at having her life taken away from her, Meghan doesn´t want anything to do with Blake. She misses he...more

This is the fourth on a series called the Calling.
Blake has very few people to call friend and in accidentally turning Meghan, those are even further away.
In the previous books, he starting to redeem himself, but hasn't totally been reprieved yet, and in this book he's still not readily accepted into the community. Meghan is in the wrong place at the wrong time and the whole vampire community knows that something is threatening their chosen lifestyle, but where is the threat coming from.

A very intriguing series. Of course like all the other series I read, I started it from the beginning so some of the back stories mentioned here I was kinda WTF??? But regardless, my curiosity was irked enough that I wouldn't mind buying all books in the series.
What I can say about the author is that she really knows how to write graphic scenes that sometimes made me wanna cringe when she describes them. I've read numerous vampire stories, but this is the first time I actually cringed while read...more

I guess sometimes the best is saved for last (or last for now anyway)!?
This one was great. Lots of action, the emotions elicited were almost overwhelming, Vamps you've had strong negative feelings for all series suddenly become sympathetic allies, and a couple that I personally had been rooting for finally made it work. The ended made known some unrest with our prime couple that had been hinted on in the last several books, so I'm very anxious to see what the deal is in the upcoming books. I th...more
