I was looking forward to this book, and it began as these things typically do for Terry Brooks.
It is a nice finishing for the series, and there is enough left open for possible follow-ons. But I felt that there were a lot of plot elements that seemed to happen for no reason.
(spoilers alert)
The romance between Logan Tom and Simralin just happened, with little "onscreen" happenings to explain it. (As if Mr. Brooks wanted it to be so, so it happened.)

I did a marathon one day read on this puppy! It's hard for me to give it less than 5 stars because I have loved just about everything Terry has written.
It is the third in a trilogy and you definitely need to read the others to really enjoy it. That said, if you like the others, this will make you happy. =)
Terry pulls all the threads together nice and neat and even threw in a couple of surprises that I really enjoyed.

This was a good ending to the Armageddon's Children trilogy. I want to say a great ending - I really do - but I just can't. There are too many little details that are still kind of driving me nuts, even after I'm done reading.

I've read the other reviews of this book from the many fans of Terry Brooks and his world of Shannara and I have to say I disagree. I am sure I will bear the brunt of their displeasure but this really didn't do it for me.

Here ends the trilogy that started with Armageddon's children but is far from the last foray for Terry Brook's into the realm of Shannara and its origins. We do get to close the book on OUR world, the one from which Shannara springs, with this story, but I leave it to the reader to discover exactly how that happens.

i was disappointed with how this ended.. I kept waiting for soome big connection to the shannara books, but there is still a big leap there. Some stories still let untold. I found the end to be a little abrubt as well. This was also the first book, where he referenced things in previous books where I couldn't remember who or which event he was referring back to.

Since I couldn't get ahold of the first book in this series, I read the last two first, and was consequently somewhat confused for most of them. That aside, i really enjoyed both. Not as much as the Shannara books, of which I have read four, but good nonetheless. So it was nice to finish up the genesis of shannara series. I thought this last book was what it ought to be...the wrap up of several different story lines. An excellent conclusion to a very unusual series. As is the case for Brooks' trilogies, many story lines are tied up very well <spoiler>and often to my satisfaction, as I love good endings</spoiler> while others are left hanging just so.

Terry Brooks continues to be one of the premier fantasy writers with his, The Gypsy Morph book. This is the third and final book in the Genesis of Shannara series and was as interesting as the original series.
