My first 'christian' fiction. Possibly my last. I found the 4 girls to be caricatures, and Megan, as the only active Christian in the bunch, is written as a Mary Sue, the most virtuous and able of the 4 girls, the only one who doesn't have a skeleton in her emotional closet. Kendall is written as her polar opposite. She is a narcissistic train wreck that you can't turn away from. This book wasn't one of Melody Carlson's best, but it was still good. I felt that I need to read the rest in the series (which I will) to get the whole plot. But she still weaves interesting characters together and makes an interesting story. I would have liked to know more details about, well, for example, Lelani's story. But I'm assuming that those details will show up in the sequels.

A fun look at what it's like for four girls who are complete strangers from different backgrounds and with different personalities to move in together.

I Heart Bloomberg is about one obnoxious woman named Kendall whose grandmother gave her a house. She decides to rent out the extra three bedrooms as a way to make some extra money so she doesn't have to work. The house is in pretty bad condition, and the amount of rent she wanted was too high. So the three girls she decides to rent the rooms to talk her down in price in exchange for fixing up the house a bit.

It's classic chick lit, but it was entertaining. I probably like it more because the characters are in the same phase of life as I am.However, it seems to me that the 4 main characters have a little more depth to them then your average chick lit book. And even though it is a "Christian" book, only 1 of the characters is a Christian (that we know of) and she's definitely not perfect, I like that Carlson makes her real. Where to start on this book? It started out as a light hearted chiclit book. I guess it ended that way too, but boy did I HATE this book. Megan was pretty much a mary sue. Everyone except Kendall and her boss thought she was the best thing since sliced bread. Kendall is my least favorite character ever. Actually, maybe she passed Twilight's Bella and is #1. I’ve read two Christian literature books that were available free from the Kindle for iPhone now and I think the low ratings I’ve given for both books isn’t so much because Christian literature is bad as it is that the books that are free on the Kindle for iPhone are bad. There’s no way around it: this is just stupid, not very well-done chick lit. I really enjoyed this book, although I can't say it should be labeled a "Christian" book, as no real Christian values were discussed. One of the girls is a Christian, although that's just talked about a few times but never really acted on.

This is a fun read about four 20 something women who don't know eachother and then choose to live together in an old house in the North West. They are have different backgrounds and interests. The first book was mostly an introduction to the characters. I am anxious to read further books in this series and see how the characters grow and mature.
This book started out a bit strange, I felt..and I am not sure that I ever really came to actually like or sympathize with the heroine. It is not a book that grabs you, that's for sure. That said, I may still check out the second book in the series..we'll see. Probably won't spend a lot of money on it, though! :-)

I only give this book 2 stars because I DID finish reading. The characters were very shallow. I really wonder if the author received product kickback because many products were referenced throughout the book. For example: Clinque, Prada. I will not purchase the rest of this series.
This book was one of the free ebook on Kindle so I got it and finished reading it in a short period of time.
It advertised as something like Sex and the city Christian chick lit. It was definitely interesting to read if you want a light book but it's not great writing or anything.

After reading some 50 pages of that book, I wondered what made me "buy" it and looking at my kindle history, I got it because if was free at the time. A girly book obviously, the kind I just cannot stomach. Certainly happy I didn't buy it.
i wouldn't say the writing is the best but i've not been overly impressed with the characters in ms. carlson's books. however, it at least keeps me reading and is the type of fiction book that is good to kill some time with.

I enjoyed reading the book. It was an easy read and the characters were engaging. I like the fact that the story continues on in the next book and we can find out more of what is going on at Bloomberg Place!
She's a Christian writer, which I didn't know. The book was surprisingly good. There are random mentions of God, The Bible, and Being a Christian which I'm not used to in a book, but the plot was cute.
I had never read this author. It started off slow and I had trouble but then it was a fun read. I really liked all the characters and the content was light and fun. I will look for more books by this author.
How did this book even get into my hands? Why did I finish it? Could've been not wanting to hurt my head thinking too hard when I was sick in bed? Why do I want to know what else will happen?
I was so surprised by this book! A sweet friend sent the four books home with me because she was convinced I'd love them. She was right. Props to Katie.... I can't WAIT to read the next one!
This was a really fun read! Lighthearted and shows how people so different can come together and be the best of friends. I can't wait to move on in the series.
This was a free download on my Kindle. The writing was a little juvenile but I found out later that the author writes teen fiction), but the story itself was interesting, and I find myself wanting to read the next in the series.
This was fun and light. I didn't love it but I didn't hate it. Its a simple becoming friends story. It kind of echos 'sisterhood of the traveling pants' a bit.

Good book! I always loved Carlson's books but they were for teens! I saw this one for more my age (early 30's) & picked it up! It was a good read!
I liked the idea of women and friendships and the Christian aspect of tis book, but it was only OK. Even at the end of the book the 'bad' girl just didn't get it.
Fun and yet somewhat silly. Following the life of these 4 girls reminded me how grateful I am not to be single and in my early 20's. : )
