When their grandfather Darkheart revealed to the Crosse triplets that they came from a long line of vampire slayers, they were shocked. He also revealed that one of them would become the next slayer, one would heal vampires, and one would turn into a vampire. Kat asks him to help her find Cyrus Kane, the king of the local vamps, hoping she could kill him and stop the prophecy ...more
Harper Allen's writing style might be meant to be cool or cute, but I just find the way Kat, the narrator speaks to be cumbersome and uneducated. The over-use of sweetie et al just turns the whole story putrid.
I tried, I really tried but I just can't go on with this. The writing is dreadful.

Darkheart & Crosse #2

A second of the triplets, Kat, shares her story and her part of the prophecy. I had trouble getting past the whining of the sisters. The story was ok, the "romance" was lame, and my favorite character was the gay guy.
This book was ok, but Im really confused by the fact that all of a sudden Megan was back with Mikhail, with no explanation, maybe I missed something? But at the end of dressed to slay she loved another guy... WTF?
