I liked this one better than the first. Something hit home for me on this one. Lucius was HOT!! That man was a jerk but he was so possessive of Eden , how can you not love that?. Their banter back and forth was truly funny. New characters were introduced and I have to say that I wanted to hate Delvyn in the beginning but at the end I loved him . Hope that there is more of him later in the series . Another great book.
Okay.. This book is awesome! I was laughing the entire time while reading this one. But the story has a dept to it as well. The plot, the characters, everything was well written and well put together. I was actually in suspense the last 5 chapters of this one. The Targon King, Devyn, okay Cynthia and Leah, YES HE'S FINE!!! But he was such a Bastard! But the King, U can't help but love. He grows on U immediately. JERK MONKEY! But Lucious and Eden are my Couple. Lucious is my dude.. U really belie...more
I recommend you read the first book in the series, Awaken Me Darkly before reading this book. However, the back story on Eden and the character development were so thoroughly detailed, that this story was complete enough to be a stand alone. I really enjoyed this book and read it all in one day. This series didn't take long to worm its way into being one of my favorite series. This installment started off a bit slow. In the beginning Eden and Lucius seemed to be doing more romancing than investi...more
As far as paranormal romances go, Showalter definitely used a lot of imagination for this series... (it would be promptly obvious that I haven't read the first installment. So there.)
The fact that this story is not another one of those vampire-romances(are we done with those, yet?) warrants a semblance of appreciation for its attempt to be ingenious in matters of plot.
Plus, the sexual tension between the couple is at a healthy level. That's good enough for me if a quick, entertaining romance re...more

Gena Showalter’s “Enslave Me Sweetly” is the second book in her Alien Huntress series. Our heroine is Eden, a beautiful alien, and something like a government assassin. Her boss, who also happens to be her dad, teams her up with cocky and deadly agent Lucius. The pair butt heads, but of course, sexual tension simmers beneath the surface. The two go undercover, to crack open a human-slavery ring and fall for each other in the process.

After many years of war between the various alien races and humans, there is now peace and the races co-exist on Earth together. Despite the harmony there are some aliens who desire humans as slaves.
Eden Black is a Raka, a race of peaceful aliens hunted for their beautiful golden skin and hair. After her parents were brutally murdered, young Eden was raised by Michael, the head of an ultra-secret alien assassination agency that eliminates aliens that prey on humans. Wow, I thought Awaken Me Darkly was a terrific Alien Huntress novel. It couldn't possibly get better, right? Wrong! This is the second Alien book and boy was it awesome!
Eden Black is an Assassin. Also happens to be an alien, from the Raka race -- beautiful, golden skin and hair, sensual and very sought-after since they're rare on Earth. She used to be a spoilt princess but is now a deadly assassin who can definitely take care of herself. Boy can she kick butt! But when her latest target, EenLi,...more

This is the second book in the Alien Huntress series. It doesn't really use any characters from the first book; although it is in the same setting. You wouldn't have to read the first book to know what is going on, but the first book does provide some background on the world in general. I actually liked this book a bit better than the first one.

I really wish goodreads had a half star rating system. I'd give this book 3 1/2 stars.
I absolutely love Gena Showalter. I have found myself engrossed in five different series by her and that is rare.
The Alien Huntress series takes place in a futuristic world where aliens live and are somewhat accepted. The A.I.R. is a division of the government set up to remove rogue aliens. Though mentioned, the characters in this book were not part of the A.I.R. but kinda a black-ops division.

This book was just as good as the first book if not better in my opinion. It's set in the same world as Awaken Me Darkly, but moves from New Chicago to New Dallas with a whole new group of bad guy fighters. This time the heroine is an alien herself though she was born on earth and adopted by a human man.
Eden, contrary to her alien race, is a tough assassin and fighter doing what she can to keep people safe from aliens who seek to exploit them. Eden has been tasked to break a slave ring. Her firs...more

I read the first Alien Huntress book a good while back so when I decided to pick the series up again, it took a little bit for me to remember the universe Ms. Showalter has created. I'm pleased to say though that this installment (as a vast majority of her books) did not disappoint.
Enslave Me Sweetly focuses on Eden, an Earth-born Raka who works as a small-time assassin for the government. With golden skin and hair, she's basically a walking hunk of money so loads of people seem to want a piece...more

It didn't take me long to finish the second installment of Gena Showalter's Alien Huntress series. This story is a bit different than the first book. It thoroughly entertained me and did not disappoint. The way Showalter can make these women into such bad asses is quite refreshing. And other than the whole alien thing, it shows that women can be just of dangerous in a fight than a man if she knows what she's doing. Here is my brief synopsis:

Pheeewweee! I inhaled this book. Glory hallelujah, finally, a good book! The first book was good too. This one just tipped the scales into my top notch category. Dare I hope to have stumbled upon a good series??? About time.
Ok, the book. I was reluctant at first and had pretty low expectations. It didn't have any of the characters from the first book, and I liked all the guys from that one and had even made nice with the heroine. This book had a human as a hero. That didn't impress me much. I li...more

His lips stretched to a full, anticipatory grin. “Agreed. But get ready, cookie.” He lifted up, getting so close I felt the warmth of his breath on my face. “I want your mouth all over me.”
Oh my, Lucius Adaire you sexy man, I want to nibble on you and do other naughty things.
Loved this book, the heroine Eden Black was a kick-ass alien and didn't take shit from anyone. She's determined to stop another alien who is kidnapping humans and selling them as slaves to other-worlders. Her first attempt...more

It was a great addition to the Alien Huntress series and it was a better book than Awaken Me Darkly, with better romance and action. I totally forgot about Devyn, who is the womanizer that ended up with Bride in the fourth book in this series (I already read it:D). I disliked him in here since he almost forced himself on Eden, but he if it isn't for him Eden wouldn't be able to beat EenLi. So afterwards when I found out about this, my heart calmed down, Eden was not the one for him but Bride, a...more
I really like this series. I always read them when I wanna get my reading mode back and they always worked their mojo. I liked the 2nd book better than the first one, just due to the fact that the Arcadian in book 1 was too much of an Alpha, Lucius knows when to bend to a woman. *g* Eden was cool too even if her competitiveness was a bit exhausting at times, but I get where that came from with a father who couldn't let go.

I loved the characters of this book. I even loved the woman collecting Targon King Devyn. He seems like he will be an awesome lead male to read. Eden and Lucius go undercover to bring down a slave trading, person-napping other worlder. At the beginning of the book Eden had the human trafficker in her grasp but misses the shot and becomes injured herself. Eden's father (without her knowledge) hires Lucius (Agent Luscious) to keep her out of harm’s way. From the moment they are put together they...more
My only problem when I started this book is I read it out of order. Be aware that it is the second book in a trilogy. The first is AWAKEN ME DARKLY and the third is SAVOR ME SLOWLY.
That said, the good is not always good, the bad is not always bad. This book has it all.
1) An alpha male with a female to match his temperament.
2) Strong characters that keep the storyline pacing quickly.
3) An element of suspense. Granted, I figured out what one of the assassin's did in the past, but I still enjoye...more

I was not expecting to enjoy this book as much as I did, specially after the first book in the series was ok to me, but I loved this one. Where can I start, the characters were amazing. Eden Back is an otherworlder that has been raised on Earth. Her skin, eyes and hair are gold. And she's an assassin of otherworlder criminals. She is then partnered against her will with Lucius, a human very hot alpha male to kill her target EenLi, an otherworlder who is kidnapping human women (mostly) and auctio...more
The second book in Gena Showalter's Alien Huntress is a bit tricky to review. I liked it...mostly.
Eden Black is a Raka...an alien both prized and hunted for their golden skin and hair. A sensual, peaceful race, the Raka are very rarely found on Earth. When a very young Eden's parents are killed, she is adopted and raised by a Michael Black, a leading operative in the war against violent aliens. To earn her adopted father's respect, a once pampered princess Eden trains with Michael's men, and bec...more

This series is unique, entertaining, and makes for some quick reading. And really, what's not to like?
Alien assassin? Check.
Female lead who knows how to kick some butt? Check.
Steamy romance? Check.
These books contain pretty much all I ask for in a paranormal romance.
The plot was suspenseful and interesting. The story moves at a perfect pace and definitely causes the "just one more chapter" syndrome. I was sad that it Enslave Me Sweetly doesn't have a strong connection to the Awaken Me Darkly sto...more

I love Gena Showalter's LOTU series but so far her alien huntress series has yet to impress me. There is something about reading PNR in first person that just disinterests me.
In this book we have Eden Black, who works for her adopted father as an assassin. Basically, she is sent to kill aliens or humans that other government sects cannot. Like A.I.R. can't kill humans, so she would be sent in. Anyways Eden misses killing her target, EenLi, and instead is injured herself. When she wakes up, after...more

Eden Black is a Raka who was adopted by her human father Michael. She has always been spoiled and getting everything that she wants. As she gets older she started to want Michael’s love and respect. Eventually, she started to want to do missions and it became more about helping humans and aliens, then trying to gain her father’s attention. She starts to work the simple jobs and wa...more
First, let me say how much I loved the world that the author built. Very cool. I hope I can read more of Showalter's Alien Huntress series. The plot was fast-paced and extremely fun with some nice little steamy scenes thrown in for good measure.
The reason I didn't rate it any higher than I did was because the writing seemed clunky. Really clunky. I know the author writes several series, so maybe she's just churning them out a little too fast? I'm not sure, but there were several times that I lo...more

This book was sooooooo much better then the first! I'm so glad I decided to read it! I really would've missed out but thanks to everyone's reviews I decided to stick with the series and try the next book! Eden's character is the best. Her character is so well described on absolutely every level. This story is full of twists and turns and just when you think you have the storyline figured out...it changes! I really recommend this book. The romance also really keeps you on edge wondering what will...more
