I CANNOT wait for this to be released. It's going to be a winner. BOUND TO SHADOWS(book 8) was amazing. The last chapter had me in tears and begging for more. I cannot wait to see what happens next with Riley and everyone. I highly recommend this series!

I almost gave up on this series after the great “soul mate fiasco” of 2009. But, I am a complete sucker for closure. I will typically come crawling back for a promised finale, especially if I can read said finale for free. Plus, it just seems like so much wasted effort to read eight books out of a series of nine, like running twenty six point one miles of a marathon and then quitting. I have loved this series. From the kick-ass heroine Riley who gets kicked in the teeth time and again and gets back up kicking the pants of her enemies to the multiple layers of love relationships and matings, these books always satisfied. They are full of action, deception, love, lust, anger, family, friendship, murder and mayhem.....what more could you want...oh yeah, you have shapeshifters and vampires and things in between.

I have been a fan of this series since Full Moon Rising. Riley has been through everything imaginable. Some of it was her own doing and some wasn't. She has lost so many people that were dear to her heart and others who weren��t. With Bound to Shadows she lost two very important people to her. Still she came back and started this book off by picking up where BtS left off - mourning her soul mates�� death and feeling the pain of letting someone down and not being able to fix it ever. While she��s trying to decide on how the rest of her life will play out fate steps in to shove her in a new direction. An old enemy has decided it��s time for revenge and Riley finds herself a Hanna and in a new town with a new brother. With memory loss a possible other loss she can��t remember and someone else still trying to kill her or others time has run out. Still she works through it and although she doesn��t get all her memory back this time fate helped her. These events helped her to step forward and do what her soul has needed for a while. She takes back the reigns in this book and finally leads her future instead of letting fate. Her and Quinn finally tie the knot and he as expected was like a brand new bride giddy and all.

I have loved Keri��s writing in this series very much. I feel in love with the storyline and characters in Full Moon Rising and have laughed cried gritted my teeth and held my breath through it all. This final addition to the series was no exception. My only draw back was I wish it was longer or not over. With a sad beginning Keri brings it back at such a great pace and fills in the plot with plenty of suspense and action for true Riley style. It��s a great read and even better if you have read the others. You feel like family almost with how well you know them and this point because you��ve read about all the other things that have developed these characters to who they are.

Certo, ci sono molte serie simili in giro, alcune già le conosco, ma per ora non ne ho trovata una che eguagli la trasformazione della storia e dei personaggi dal primo all'ultimo romanzo. Ad essere sincera non conosco una serie di questo tipo che abbia fine.
Se penso al primo romanzo e all'ultimo vedo chiaramente la strada che la Arthur ha fatto percorrere ai suoi personaggi. Vedo la trasformazione di Riley e mi rendo conto che ogni azione che compie, ogni sbaglio e ogni pensiero hanno lo scopo di farla diventare ciò che è alla fine del nono romanzo. Riley entra in scena come una lupacchiotta libera e spensierata, con un buon lavoro, tanti amanti e un fratello che ama. Alla fine della serie è una combattente, una sopravvissuta, una dampira che ne ha viste troppe per rimanere sorpresa dai tiri mancini della vita e che ha trovato la forza di superare traumi, faide familiari e convinzioni dovute ad una vita da lupa. Riley diventa una persona più equilibrata, decisa e sicura solo dopo una serie di episodi che la mettono di fronte a delle scelte e la forzano ad un viaggio di scoperta interiore. Nel momento in cui capisce qual'è la scelta giusta, ogni pezzo del puzzle va al suo posto. Ogni ostacolo superato significa avvicinarsi a ciò che ha sempre desiderato. Il fatto che i desideri della Riley dei primi romanzi siano uguali nella sostanza ma attuabili - e attuati - in modi diversi dai desideri della nuova Riley ha conciliato le due metà. C'è il lieto fine che tutti desiderano: Riley ha la sua anima gemella - mi è piaciuto molto quando ha accettato Quinn come il suo Amore, abbandonando completamente la voglia di una anima gemella decisa dal destino - e il lettore riesce a leggere la fine che desidera.
Il cambiamento della serie si sente soprattutto a livello di trama. Se nei romanzi precedenti il plot era generalmente circoscritto al romanzo stesso, in questo caso la storia serve a chiudere tutti i conti in sospeso dandoci un'ultima scarica di adrenalina. Ci sono ancora i due casi paralleli, ci sono ancora moltissime scene d'azione e di investigazione ma il centro della storia è la perdita di memoria di Riley. Dal momento dell'incidente fino alle scene finali non c'è stata una pagina in cui non sentissi l'ansia salire o diminuire l'interesse nella lettura. Ogni volta che un ricordo stava per spuntare dalla nebbia facevo uno sprint per macinare quante più pagine potevo prima di dover chiudere il libro, praticamente affamata di arrivare alla fine. Non ha guastato per niente la sofferenza da separazione che, secondo me, ha fatto rinascere dalle ceneri Riley: prima che le tornassero i ricordi, prima che le tornasse alla mente il suo nome, sapeva di amarlo. Non si può rimanere impassibili, non si può pensare che un personaggio arrivi a quel punto e non sia migliorato - nonostante la possibilità che l'autrice abbia fatto scelte anche sbagliate - ma se il risultato è questo, allora accetto tutto. Accetto la differenza tra l'inizio e la fine e accetto il cambiamento in blocco. D'altronde ho sempre apprezzato il ritmo e la libertà di trama e di narrazione.
La Arthur non si è lasciata influenzare dal pensare razionale e ha lasciato carta bianca ai suoi personaggi: in questo modo Riley è veramente una lupa, con tutti i suoi istinti e comportamenti, ma con i suoi continui cambiamenti genetici arrivano anche nuove sfumature, nuovi pensieri meno 'animali' e più razionali.
Solo il fatto che non c'è stato un episodio che abbia reso Riley antipatica ai miei occhi è un giudizio più che indicativo e, se aggiungo tutti i personaggi secondari e tutti gli uomini di Riley, allora ho la mia bella ciliegina sulla torta (con le fattezze di Quinn).
Citazione doverosa dell'ultima scena, la cerimonia di fronte alla Luna: armoniosa, coerente, emozionante e perfetta per chiudere l'intera serie.
Con l'occhietto lucido saluto Riley e mi auguro di poter leggere - un giorno - una serie (completa) che mi soddisfi come questa. Io lo spero, almeno.(less)

I am often disappointed when a main character in a series goes through so many changes and evolves into a different person from the original one that I became enamored with. Keri Arthur wrote a character that was a funny/horny/feminine, tough and loyal damphir that stayed true to herself through 9 books.

Moon Sworn is the 9th and final book in the Riley Jensen series. And boy do I loooove Ms. Arthur's world! She's created one of the most addicting series I've ever read and Moon Sworn is the perfect ending to such a dynamic series. I was most impressed with the characters growth. Ms. Arthur gave them room to evolve without compromising who they've been in the past 9 books. In her heart, Riley is still Riley, straight out of Full Rising, only with more internal and external scars, that even shifting can't heal.

I did have one main issue with this book, that being the removal of Quinn, Rhoan, and Lisander from the bulk of it. I understand the necessity of them taking a back seat to Riley's journey - I mean, it is ultimately her series...however, we have grown to love and build relationships with these characters and being that this was the finale, I just wanted to immerse myself in each and every one of them. Even if Ms. Arthur was able to just add more Quinn to Riley's journey, it would've been a 5 star for me.

In the beginning of Moon Sworn, Riley is reeling after killing her psycho soulmate, Kye, in response to him murdering her close friend Kade. After the loss of both of these people, she is trying to find herself again - her self assurance, a way to heal her broken soul, and how to move forward with Quinn. Riley has yet to give all of herself to Quinn and she is debating whether or not she still wants to be a Guardian.

While this internal debate continues, Riley begins working at the Directorate again, needing to have something to distract her from her emotions and obsessing with her loss. She gets involved in a case where released criminals are getting brutally murdered. During this investigation, revenge is taken on Riley in the most unexpected way - and we may just lose the character we have all come to love. Please join Riley on her journey as she tries find what was lost and faces her darkest demons.

That's all I can really say without ruining this book for you - but man, PLEASE read this series - so you can get to Moon Sworn and reflect on the epic wonderousness that is Keri Arthur's Riley Jensen series.(less)

Yes, this series has a slow start and honestly when I think back to the first couple of books, I'm amazed I got through the series. Around book 3 thing really took off and I was highly intrigued by Riley, her brother and the men in her life whether they are vampire or werewolf.

This book was no different for me. I have had it for a while and have put off reading it for the mere fact that I knew it was the final book of this series. I couldn't imagine it ending or having to say good-bye to charact...more

I've been a huge fan of this series since the beginning. I love Riley's no nonsense attitude, she is who she is and isn't going to change no matter what is thrown in her face. I love the mysteries presented in each book and feel that Keri Arthur is one of the best out there at keeping readers interested in what is going on. I'm so sad to see the Riley Jensen series come to an end. While this book leaves you hanging a bit in the end, all the old problems are wrapped up. Poor Riley had finally come to a conclusion in her life. Too bad for Riley that "fate" has not come to the same conclusion. I love this series. It was one of my first paranormal series and I have stuck with it from the beginning - and loved every twist and turn it has taken. I'm so completely sad that it is over. I'm going to miss these characters like they were friends who've moved away. I'm just glad that the series ended while it was still strong and that Keri really let Riley and company go out with a bang! Such a great wrap up to this series.

Aww... Bittersweet,bittersweet... I am happy with the outcome but am sad to see Riley go. I really loved this series! Can't believe it's over. So much to say but can't think of where to start.
Ugh Kade!! soo sad, the most emotional start to a book i have ever read. I was never 100% sure of both her soulmates but of Kade? Since Riley Jenson is one of my favorite heroines ever and this concludes the series, I’m abandoning my normal review format to discuss Moon Sworn, but I will do my best to avoid spoilers. Moon Sworn picks up weeks after the death of Riley’s friend Kade and her soul mate Kye. While she survived his death, she is deeply depressed and battling the emptiness of his loss. Riley, Rhoan, Liander and Quinn are still awaiting the child Liander’s sist...more Warning: Spoilers from previous books are unavoidable.

Since Riley Jenson is one of my favorite heroines ever and this concludes the series, I’m abandoning my normal review format to discuss Moon Sworn, but I will do my best to avoid spoilers. Moon Sworn picks up weeks after the death of Riley’s friend Kade and her soul mate Kye. While she survived his death, she is deeply depressed and battling the emptiness of his loss. Riley, Rhoan, Liander and Quinn are still awaiting the child Liander’s sister is carrying for them, which gives Riley the will to live. Shortly after saying good bye to Kade, Riley’s boss Jack calls in her help on a murder case. Because of the experimental drugs given to Riley in a previous book, she has developed the ability to speak with the souls of the recently deceased. The soul gives her enough information to figure out this murder was motivated by revenge. As with all the other cases Riley works, she quickly gets the details she needs and solves the case. However, Blake Jenson is still seeking revenge. Blake has developed an elaborate plot to make Riley suffer from memory loss and adjust to a new life before he kills her. Of course, Riley is not going down without a fight, even if she doesn’t know who she is. When she finds herself lost in a small town with a new identity, she somehow keeps being Riley…and being Riley means finding all trouble possible. Luckily another murder case pops up and has so many similarities to the vengeance murders she was investigating, her memory is jogged. Before Blake’s plan comes to an end, Riley must figure out who she really is and take care of the Jenson pack once and for all. That’s all I can really say without giving away the ending so I will move on.

My thoughts on Moon Sworn and Riley Jenson’s journey:
I am literally wincing as I type this, but I did not love this book. Over the past 8 books Riley Jenson has been through some serious stuff. SERIOUS stuff. She has been beaten (a lot), shot (even more), kidnapped, drugged, raped while drugged, genetically altered and forced to kill her own soul mate. So, as far as I’m concerned, being dumped in a small town with no memory was like child’s play for Riley. She also happens to have a crazy lethal twin brother and the most bad-ass vamp boyfriend on Earth who can tear a small town apart. And the case she was working didn’t even have layer upon layer of messed up Aussies to peel away. She solved it with only like 2 gun shot wounds and a dead hooker! So seriously? This was the send off she got? Sigh…I guess it depends on how you look at it. If you were sick of fate kicking the crap out of Riley, then maybe you were relieved that things finally got easy for her. But the reason I love Riley Jenson is how she always gets herself out of trouble on her own, without even relying on all the back-up she has available. She is one of the smartest, sexiest, most kick-ass heroines I have ever read, and I loved every minute of her journey up until this point. But this book felt almost formulaic to me. I was really hoping for something even more over the top than the multi-species fighting ring from Tempting Evil (which is my fav book in the series and has one of the most awesome climactic battles ever!), but maybe it was time for things to calm down for Riley. I am sure lots of people will love this final piece of Riley’s story. And I really did love the ending; it was nice to see Riley finally at peace with herself and her past. I think I was just ready to go on one more insane adventure with my favorite werewolf\vamp\seagull shifter and I don’t feel that I got it. But don’t let my semi-negative review take away from this series. I loved these books. They are so much fun. I will miss Quinn’s hotness, and Rhoan and Liander’s sweetness, and Jack and Sal being super annoying. I will miss Riley being that ridiculous seagull then shifting in midair to break someone’s jaw. I will miss (actually have been missing for a few books now) the horny wolfie full-moon sex clubs and Riley’s unapologetic promiscuity (why the hell couldn’t she hook up with Cole just once?!?). And finally I will miss getting to read all about Australia, which made these books unique for me. Okay, gushing is complete. It feels weird to actually have closure from one of these series though. Especially since book 8 left us with Riley on death’s door, its kind if nice to know everything is good now. So if I can give no other reason to read this series, read it because IT’S DONE.

What can i say....so many emotions are running through me at this moment, utter happiness, to utter sadness, sadness as the series has ended but happiness for Riley. I even cried both with joy & sadness.

wow i am so happy that Riley got her happy ending. Not only Riley, but Quinn,Rhoan,Liander & she's going to be a mom she deepest wish, her dream. They are their own pack, a brand new beginning.

I received this book as a review copy from the publisher and I was so happy I got the chance. I adored the last book and OMG this one was so much better. I just couldn't stop reading. I really wanted a HEA for Riley and Quinn and after the last book I was unsure if that would be so easy.

She lost so much and she still hates to be a Guardian. She not only lost her soul mate, she also lost her dreams of having a normal werewolf life. She tries to be strong but being unhappy with your life doesn't make that task easier. Riley really grew through the whole series and I have to admit that I like her more now than in the first 2 books even if she is a bit broken inside. She is still a strong woman who says what she thinks and does what she wants. I know I am a prude but I especially liked that she didn't fuck around in this book. I never really like that.

I loved Quinn as always. He is ones of the best heroes ever and at some points I would have loved just to put my head on his shoulder like Riley and feel the safety of his presence. He is the rock that keeps Riley steady and he loves her the way she is, without reservations. He is caring and is worried- but not in such an overbearing way that alpha-males usually love. He respects her space and knows where he has to give her space and where not. And he is hot like hell so who could resist? Not me.

The plot in this book was okay. I was a bit annoyed with the whole memory losing at the beginning but it worked after a few pages. I liked how all the little glimpses came back to her and she could finally put the whole puzzle back together. I loved who the story unfolded itself, how Riley made her own decisions even if they weren't in sync with the Directorate.I know it's bad to want revenge but I really really liked the end- it was so what I wanted.

I squeed, I laughed and nearly cried in this book. It was a ride full of emotions and I think it would have even been better if I would have read all the previous books in this series. The story flows through the whole book. Ms. Arthur writes in a way that draws you in after the first few sentences. I caught myself peaking in the book even if I just had enough time to read a page or two. I just couldn't resist the temptation. One thing I know for sure: I have to get the previous books I'm still missing in this series and figure all the small things out.
This book is highly recommended not only for Riley Jenson fans. I know it will probably not be that good without the back-story but it was such a good romance. I loved it to pieces.(less)

From the very first novel in this series I was in love with the protagonist Riley not just because she is a tough as nails female but because she is also a woman who loves family, yearns for true love, and has normal insecurities. As with any Keri Arthur book release I was excited for the release of Moon Sworn but it is bitter sweet as this is the final book in the Riley Jenson Guardian Series. I loved it. I can remember when I started this series and I was like Quinn and couldn't handle Riley's wolfs need for sex. And again like Quinn I came to grips with it.

Keri did an excellent job of closing all the loose ends.

The final book in the Riley Jensen Guardian series and Keri Arthur did a great job with this book. There was suspense that things were not going to turn out as we hoped and it was actually a good story. The quality of the writing continued until the very end.

It's sad to see characters retired that you've grown to like but it's probably better for them to go out while the stories are still good and sharp instead of staying too long. This was a very good series.

For the record, I'd like to give this 4 1/2 stars, because it wasn't perfect, but it was still a really good ending to this series. I'm overall pleased with how Ms Arthur chose to end Riley's story- with one exception. So MINOR SPOILER ALERT- I didn't like that the situation with the experiments done on Riley was left unresolved. However on some level I must appreciate an author that knows when to wrap up the story arc and move on. When to tie up the loose ends, put everything in order and say goodbye. Moon Sworn is the 9th and final book in the Riley Jenson Guardian series.

After what I would call a very emotional and unexpected ending in Bound to Shadows, Moon Sworn picks up with Riley mourning her soul-mate Kye’s death at her own hands, and the death of her long time friend Kade. While she has much to live for she is questioning her future as a Guardian and where her life is heading. She longs to realize her dream of having a family and leaving the violent life of a Guardian behind. However, because of the changes that are occurring in her body due to an experimental drug given to her, she is bound to the Directorate indefinitely.

When it becomes apparent that a killer is at work leaving brutally slain bodies of recently released ex-cons around, Riley is back on the job and deep in a mystery. She is once again the bold, vivacious Guardian we’ve come to know, determined to get the job done. But an enemy from her past is hell bent on revenge and has hatched an elaborate plan to get to her. Riley’s life will never be the same and she may lose everything and everyone she loves if she cannot indentify and conquer the enemy that seeks to take everything from her.

As this series has progressed the stories have become more and more exciting, always entertaining, and I’ve become somewhat emotionally invested in the characters and their lives. Knowing this was the last book in the series I was both excited and a little sad to read it. Without spoiling I will say that Moon Sworn gave me everything I was hoping for, for Riley Jenson. Having seen her struggle and grow throughout the series, I’ve always hoped that someday she would get her happily ever after, but sometimes that comes in ways one would not expect. Moon Sworn offers a thrilling murder mystery as well as a few unexpected surprises for Riley.

There was an aspect to the story that threw me off just a bit. It was the temporary absence of the characters key to Riley’s life throughout the course of the series. I realize this is Riley’s story and so the book should focus mostly on her, however, being the last book in the series I had hoped for more page time for Quinn, Rhoan, Leander and Jack. They do of course get some page time, but for a period of time it just felt like a there was a flat spot in story without them and I really missed Riley’s interaction with these characters.

Quinn and Riley have had a tumultuous relationship and I have not always liked Quinn or his treatment of Riley. But he too has grown with in the series becoming the man and vampire that fully owns Riley’s heart. Although I didn’t think it was possible for me to like him more than in Bound To Shadows, I fell well and truly hard for him in Moon Sworn.

Now that we have to say good-bye to Riley, I look forward to Keri Arthur’s spin-off series featuring Risa, daughter of Dia, another well loved character from the Guardian series.

This was a fairly satisfying end to the series. I must admit that I was getting really tired of listening to Riley whine about soul mates and forego all good sense in the name of her libido. I've enjoyed the world building, the characters, the mysteries, and even the sex in this series, but Riley was actually my least favorite character in the series and very often difficult for me to tolerate. This is the latest book in Keri Arthur's Riley Jensen series. As per usual, I have been jumping around the series rather than reading them in order, thanks to the fact that my library doesn't have all the books and I'm far too impulsive for my own good.
