Martha Crouse
Not a typical year of watching birds, this including lyrical descriptions of bird sightings with meandering reflections on literature of nature brought to mind by the birds, to reflections on self and birding and its place in man's life. I enjoyed some of the description and the little narrative of events/trips for birding, but was often lost in the meanderings especially since I was unfamiliar with much of the writings which were included.

A British bird journal. Overly poetic and sordy. Too may extravagant descriptions and attempts to awe the reader.
