This is a beautiful book. The artwork and writing are both wonderful and truly enjoyable.
For those familiar with the Accelerated Reader Program, this is a level 3.5 book.

I’ve got to admit that I really love picture books that done by a husband and wife team. The story and illustrations blend together beautifully as is the case here. The illustrations are vibrant just like the feelings about Christmas. The visual details draw you in and you’ll want to study them all as you would a fine painting. There is also something there for the children as well with the artist adding lots of hidden pictures for reader to find. The story itself is quite charming as it brings ...more
This book is cute and the rhyming is fun. We'll read this next Christmas too. It includes the magic similar to toys coming alive when everyone is asleep. There are funny scenes like a snowman Santa and his snow reindeer. Sweet scenes of the snowmen going back home just in time for morning light and re-positioning themselves in their yards with a little gleam in their eyes. And, even a hint of the religious significance of Christmas. A keeper.
The story in this book is alright. It talks about snowmen coming alive while we sleep on Christmas Eve and how they celebrate the holiday. The illustrations are rather nice. Then, at the very, very end of the book where you might miss it, there is a note that says that every painting has five hidden images to look for. Well, that was fun! But hard! I work on it a bit more whenever Natalie brings the book over. Meanwhile, she isn't ready to really listen to the whole thing, but likes it. ...more
I like this book becusa it talks about snowmen and i like making snowmen.MY book is about a kid who makes a snowmen and ask what do snowmen do when were sleeping.THIS book is fantasyand snowmen cant move and have powers.MY schema is that i made a snowmen in WINTER once.HOW do they make the reinders?I recomend this book to stephanie becuse she likes snowmen at christmas.
Buehner's strike again with a Christmas book based upon a child's wonder "how do snowmen celebrate?" The answer is shared with frolic and fun in the spirit of the season. Child love to gaze at the illustrations which give the snowmen personality. My daughters' favorite was the panel with the tired snowmen headed back to their yards with the little ones sucking their thumb and a binky. Another delightful book of snowmen from the Buehner's!
I like this book alot. It is about all these people acually snow poeople who go and have parties in the middle of the night when non of the humans are watching. They go and play with snowballs and they sing around the christmas tree they make little icicle goodies and they all have fun like we do on christmas and in the end they say so if your snowmen has a crooked smile or is slanting a little to the left you'll know why. It was very cute.
A neat rhyming story of what snowmen do to celebrate Christmas. I liked the creativity of the verses and the illustrations are gorgeous, made even more fun because in each full-page painting, Buehner hides a cat, rabbit, Santa face, T-Rex, and little brown mouse. Darned if I couldn't find a few, I'll have to study them when the boys are sleeping.
A wonderful holiday story that I would pick up each year to read!

A fun and imaginative story about what snowmen do at night while we are all sleeping! I especially loved the beautiful illustrations - the way the artist depicted the mix of moonlight and artificial light was just wonderful!
Also LOVE the hidden pictures (mouse, snowman face, T Rex, etc) in each painting - we'll be looking for those for a while to come! :)

Darling sequel to Snowmen at Night. Love the pictures!
I read these books in the wrong order. I read this one to a kindergarten class I was subbing for in December, and I read the first to my 4th graders I'm teaching right now. They had a chance to write their own story about their own snowman and what it would do at night. It was a fun writing project!

My opinion of the book is that i like it because its of christmas. It is fantasy because is not real.It is about a boy how dreams about a snowmenflying in the sky.My schema is that i never had a dream of flying the snowmen. My question is that how can a snowmen be alive.I recommededthis book to MS.YEGGE because she will enjoy it like me.
This delightful story about Christmas and snowmen is told in rhyme. Beautifully illustrated, kids of all ages will enjoy looking at the pictures and hearing about how snowmen celebrate at Christmastime. For added fun, there are hidden pictures of rabbits, dinosaurs, mice and more to search for on each page!

This is the story of what snowmen do on Christmas Eve. When all of the people are sleeping, the snowmen gather together in the center of the town and throw a Christmas celebration. They dance, sing, make treats, and even have a visit from snowman Santa.

This book is fun story to read at Chrismas as the title says. In this book the boy also imagine about what the snowman that he built will do to celebrate Chrismas with other snowmen. This will be a good book to read to the students from Kindergaten to 2nd grade during the Christmas season.
I loved this one even more than Christmas for the Snowmen - it was super cute with great illustrations. These are all great books to have around for Christmas. Every night this year we read the scriptures (per usual) and followed it up by a different Christmas story. Super fun.
In this gorgeously illustrated picture book, while people are asleep on Christmas Eve night, snowmen gather in the town square for dancing and tree-trimming. The snowy scenes glow with light and color, and each illustration has bonus hidden shapes for kids to find.
Many authors destroy the flow and story of their books when trying to employ rhyme. Caralyn Buehner doesn't falter in this at all, and is quite masterful in her rhyming. We also enjoyed discovering "CTR" written on one of the hats in the illustrations.
We got this through a Scholastic book order through my daughter's daycare. It's a great book!
Charming illustrations that have little things hidden in them (a mouse, cat, etc). We love snowmen and seeing them come to life was really fun.

Its fun to think about snowmen coming alive as well as what they would do. In this picture book it is night time and the darkened illustrations gives one that sense of night. This is a delightful read and there are two other titles in this series.
We love the hidden pictures in the book. I also thought it was cute that one the snowgirls had a hat that said, "CTR" for Choose the Right. The pictures are charming. My five-year-old loved the snowpuppy. He gives the book all five stars!
Rhyming books are my absolute favorite for kids, and Buehner does a great job. The pictures are beautiful to the eye with saturated color and hilarity. I got this one in board book format since it is a favorite of Lysander's.
A follow up to the charming Snowmen At Night, in which the secret Christmas celebrations of the neighborhood snowmen are revealed! Look for hidden images in each picture, and watch kids' eyes pop at the glowing color palette!
This book was so adorable!!! The pictures were enchanting and the snowmen activities were wonderfully imagined. My favorite snowmen were the Cowboy hat wearing Texas Snowman and the snowman wearing the sombrero.
A fun story about what snowmen do during Christmas. Kids k-2 will probably love this as a fun read-aloud. This book also has a rhyming pattern throughout the whole story which gives it a nice flow when reading.
The second of the snowmen books, this one talks about how snowmen must celebrate Christmas while we are all alseep. Like the original, the illustrations are superb, and the story is fun. We love it.
My kids and I really enjoy this book. It's a cute story, plus it's fun to find the hidden things on every page. I also love that one of the snowmen moms has "CTR" painted in tiny letters on her hat band.
This is a darling book full of beautiful art work. No deep meaning or moral to the story but it's a really cute read as it talks about the secret life of snowmen as they celebrate Christmas.
Wow! It's great to read a book that doesn't automatically get rid of all references to Christmas and what it signifies. I'm sure my son's imagination will be piqued with this title. Thanks.
Another family favorite. The story is written in poetry and fun to read. There are also hidden pictures on every page, so you can spend more time with this cute book, and cute pictures.
