His only goal these days was recovering and getting back in the game, not playing bodyguard to the most vulnerable of victims. 8 1/2 months pregnant, Sara Carson awakes in the middle of the night knowing there were intruders in her home. What the intruders didn't know was she had a loaded gun on her bedside table.

Hearing gun fire coming from his pregnant neighbors house made Jake Armstrong go against his normal policy to stay out of other people's business.

By time he makes it in her house, the men are already gone and he's left with a shaky Sara. When the cops arrive, they find no proof and chalk it up to a pregnant w

Sara woke up in the middle of the night to 3 men breaking in to her house. One pulled out a needle, and she pulled out her gun. She defended her unborn baby and herself, against the three men. She thought it was a random act of violence, but later find out they want to take her baby, to sell it. Jake her neighbor appointed himself as her body guard. The birth of the baby was a little hard to believe. Other than that, this book was really good.

I tend to be a bit disappointed by the Harlequin Intrigue titles. The action is good, but the intrigue is very minimal. This title amazed me. It satisfied its dual purposes as a thriller and as a romance.

A really decent romantic suspense that involves romance with a
believable suspense story line. Both Jake Armstrong and Sara Carson are
written with authentic emotions, so that the reader can immediately
connect with the individuals. The storyline is suspenseful and
compelling. Definitely worth going into the cart.
Holy WOW I didn't expect that person to be the BAD GUY, but this was sad even with some happiness in it but still a sad part that makes you realize some of this stuff happens in real life
Neighbours, both guarded, connect and feel attracted to each other because of imminent danger to the pregnant woman in a well written Intrigue.
