Thanksgiving can't end too soon for Victor Bayne, who's finding Jacob's family hard to swallow. Luckily, he's called back to work to track down a high-profile missing person.

Meanwhile, Jacob tries to find a home they can move into that's not infested--with either cockroaches, or ghosts. As if the house-hunting isn't stressful enough, Vic's new partner Bob Zigler doesn't se...more

Look, I'll keep this simple.

I ADORE VICTOR BAYNE!!!!!

Book 3 has Vic at his neurotic best. And getting to know him better with each book of this series is such a treat. Poor guy is traumatized and the accommodations he has to make in his life because of his "gift" of talking to dead people are exhausting. But, I'm bought in...totally invested in him...and I want to be there with him every step of the way...(What happened to you, Vic, at Camp Hell. I need to know...yet I'm scared to find out!)

In the third installment of the Psy Cop series, Vic and Jacob are spending Thanksgiving with Jacob’s family. Vic wants to be a good boyfriend and tries to wean himself from the Auracel that prevents him from seeing ghosts, but keeps him high most of the time. Their Thanksgiving holiday is cut short when Vic gets a call to investigate the case of three missing people, including an alderman’s nephew.

Once again, I can’t get enough of this series and was flipping pages well into the night. Vic’s qui...more

OMG this serie is getting always better! I'm so happyyyyyyyyyy!

Love the romance (more, now that Jacob and Vic are searching their new house (YEY!!! Moving together for real now!!! YEY)

Love the action (there is a cop scene, with Vic using a ghost to follow the suspect! Incredible!)

And of course, looooooove the humor!

sorry if I can't say more!!! More books of this serie are waiting!!! YEY!!! Starting now the next one!

This book sealed the deal for me: Jordan Castillo Price is a genius. Her stories are fun and engaging, her characters (especially Vic) are to die for! And I love how she manages to add those little details which make her world and characters so true to life and easy to visualize.

This story deserved 5 stars for the opening chapter alone in which we see Vic having Thanksgiving dinner with Jacob’s family. Brilliant!
Besides that we see Vic trying to adjust to yet another new partner, Zigler. Togeth...more

Another fabulous installment to what is fast becoming one of my all time favorite series.

I adore Victor! And I lust after Jacob, with an intensity that scares me. These guys *grabby hands* I LOVE THEM!!!

Flat hunting, steamy hot sex,(view spoiler)[ the kitchen ... unghh, the hall way ... OMG, the cannery ... Oh My, yes, yes, YES!! (hide spoiler)] dirty talk and a whole lot of Victor makes me a happy bunny.

The investigation is so secondary it's tertiary in fact, pish - posh I wasn't really paying...more

I'm completely loving this series. And I'm SO glad that I have the fourth and fifth books to read...and that there will be a sixth book released next year!

1st Read November 2010

Obviously I was too lazy to write a review after the first read...or I was too impatient and in a hurry to start the next book. But my rating tells me I really liked.

2nd Read May 2013

Yummy, lots of Vic and Jacob smexiness in this one! Ha! Plus, it was nice seeing Vic drug-free for a change! I'm rereading Secrets ASAP!!!

Another solid 4.5. These short novels are really addicting. I'm going to take a break now, though, if it kills me.

Vic has another new partner. This one is Zigler, a guy you could peg as a cop from a mile away. A fire plug of muscle with a big 'ol cop-stache and a stoic perspective. It's an awkward match, but they've got a crime to solve.

This book was the best one so far. There was a subplot where Vic and Jacob were looking for a place to move in together and then there was the crime mystery itse...more

I should probably take a break in between reading these as they are beginning to meld together in my head, as least so far as what happens in which book. Obviously though, the series must be good if I am buzzing through it so fast.

Once again, I am unable to rate 5 stars, even though I love this series. I wish the books were longer. I wish the main mystery, the case Vic was trying to solve, had flowed better and had a little bit more depth to it. It also felt too forced at the end.

Yet Price kno...more

This is book 3 in the Psycop series (I should probably slow dow, there will only be 7 and 6 isn't available yet...). This book finds Vic & Jacob's relationship continuing to move forward even though there seems to be a hint of possible upcoming drama for the couple in the form of Crash, of course I may be reading into things, since really he barely made an appearance in this book.

The book opens at Thanksgiving dinner at The Marks' family home. Vic is called back on a case of missing persons...more

Another installment in the "PsyCop" series by Price - and just as amazing as the previous two (published in one book under the title "PsyCop").

In this book, Vic faces a Thanksgiving with Jacob's family, a case of missing persons that have nothing in common, a new cop partner and... house hunting.

This ebook is funny, the case interesting, the characters well developed and the sex hot but not overdone, just a cherry on top of a great novel!

As usual, Price has a hard time with the ending of the mystery portion of the book. I was completely confused when I realized the mystery had been solved. There was no real conflict at the end. There was an adequate chase, but nothing remotely dramatic. Even cosy mysteries have more action and drama than these do.

But as always, the characterizations are perfect. I know these characters, I know what they're thinking and what they're likely to do in a given situation. Each person in the book has h...more

It's the first time I haven't been completely satisfied with a Psycop book. Thanksgiving with Jacob's family was a great start, the ghosts of amputated limbs were weirdly fascinating (phantom limb syndrome takes on a very literal meaning) (view spoiler)[and the "zombies" were interesting too (hide spoiler)] but the action and tension wasn't quite up to par.

Vic and Jacob's relationship progress had me melting until Jacob assumed something which led him to make a very desperate and heartbreaking...more

I guess I just love reading Vic's POV. He is so sarcastic, funny, self-deprecating and sweet! And I don't care that the mystery line is not good - there is hardly any mystery at all. The romance line is very thin..Jacob is just there, and we don't get to know him very much. So it's all about Vic, his thoughts, his fears and insecurities and his feelings, however vague they are. Vic usually is not a talker, he stammers a lot, often doesn't know what to say, he is socially awkward. But here he act...more

I guess it's starting to become clear that I can't stop reading these books!

Vic meets Jacob's parents, it seems like their relationship is moving full speed ahead...and some big words and big decisions are ahead of them. Too bad the ghosts are once again standing in their way, and as if that wasn't enough Vic is starting to dream of things he knows he shouldn't want and is torn when he's offered that very thing.

There's also a new case dumped on Vic, even though he's technically still on medical...more

In this third installment of Psycop, Body and Soul, Vic cant wait for Thanksgiving to be over. Having decided to spend it with Jacob's family, and while it wasn't to terrible, he's very thankful to be called back into work early, to try to track down a "high-profile" missing person.
While Vic's working the case, Jacob's looking for a home for them to move into, one that inst infested with roaches or ghost, or any thing else unwanted. Add to it all Vic has a new partner to deal with, Bob Zigler, w...more

LOVED this! Everything I said I wished had been in book 2 was here, and it was so, so good! We got to see Vic's talent at work under "normal" circumstances, we got to see more of how his talent affects his daily life and his life with Jacob, and we got to understand Vic a little more. And the creepy, perfect-for-Halloween vibe was strong as ever, from the ghost arm at Thanksgiving dinner right up through the amazingly vivid and horrific climax when Vic discovers who's behind the disappearances....more

My favourite from the series I've read so far. While the sex is hot, it's not gratuitous. Don't get me wrong, I love PWP, but in these stories the sex is more an embodiment of the MCs developing relationship, and fits within the overall arc. The mystery was better than #2, but not as good as #1, although, saying that, it was very elegantly constructured, with clues spread subtly throughout the story.

Although the mystery wasn't quite as good as #1, I liked all the other parts of the story more....more
The Flooze
Another solid installment, though I'll admit I wish the wrap-up of the police investigation had been handled with a little more detail.

Beginning with an amusingly awkward Thanksgiving dinner, Body & Soul shows Vic's usual self-deprecating humor as he faces a lot of adjustments. Though the pace doesn't feel overly brisk, a lot happens in this volume and JCP seems to be laying the groundwork for several storylines. It's a fun read. I especially enjoy Vic's growing confidence and his determina...more

My, oh, my, the third book establishes my love for the series. While I think JCP downplays the mystery a little bit (when I found out what really happened to the people who disappeared, I was like, "what, that's it?") -- but at the same time, there is improvement in Victor's relationship with Jacob. It's really lovely to see him opening up to his lover that way, visiting Jacob's family, willing to consider living together, saying "I Love You" -- those are pretty big for Victor. He's such a likea...more

It's official, people in this series are like bonobo, they have sex in the beginning, before and after eating, randoms nights, and the end.

And they don't care where they are, they just have sex. Abandoned old building with ghosts? Fine.

On another note, as much as I like the plot, this book is plot oriented and not sex oriented, but the ending are always so short.

It's like suddenly everything is revealed. The story and suspense builds and build and you end up with a weak squirt.

See my reviews for the first and second novel. This is my favorite case so far, even though I could have used a better reason as for why the bad guys were doing what they were doing. There were still some pacing issues -- the lead up is too long and the resolution is too fast for my tastes, but the author is getting better with every book, which is nice to see. Jacob got creepier and more intriguing in this one -- I did not really care for him before, but I'm starting to like him. I'm also very...more

This was my least favorite of the series to date. Don't get me wrong, Vic was neurotic as ever and I still adore Jacob but, relatively speaking, this one was meh. *wiggles hand* It was slow moving and I wasn't invested in the mystery. (view spoiler)[What was up with the mismatched zombie-making couple?!? I didn't get that. (hide spoiler)]

I have hope for Vic's new partner, Zig. And, I love seeing Vic's relationship with Jacob grow. (view spoiler)[The i-love-you professions were really sw...more

Still light on the relationship/romance (if that's what you want to call it!), but there's a real method to this author's madness (I mean approach.) I have zoomed through these books, each time wishing it were a novel I was reading, not a novella. Over-priced, too, I think, but these characters are compelling enough to make readers pay without complaining. I'm not complaining! But the point is to give just enough to leave the readers happy but slobbering for more. I'm fascinated by this approach...more

I loved the mystery plot in this one. These books become better and better as the series progresses but there's something missing... I don't know what it is and it's driving me nuts.

I think it has to do with Jacob. I can't get into his head since we're stuck with Vic's POV who - let's face it - is not the most confident MC around. I just don't get WHY Jacob is so into Vic, since Vic himself has no effin' clue on the subject.

Also, I know that I'm the minority here but I could do with a little le...more

2012 Review:

Hee. This was a sweet and funny one. Which seems an odd thing to say about this series but I think I misremembered it a little. This really is a relatively sweet series – gruesome ghosts, violent deaths, threats of jealousy, and traumatic flashbacks notwithstanding.

Yep, two years ago I loved this volume. So very much. Most of it was really the mystery, the crime story. This time around I still enjoy it greatly.

The relationship aspects (and did I mention how much I love that the books...more

Paranormal M/M Romance. I continue to enjoy this series about Victor, a medium/detective who works for the PsyCop department of the Chicago PD. I find his job fascinating—talking to the dead to get leads on cases—and all the different kinds of ghosts he encounters, and how they make his life easier or harder.

Victor's starting to pull himself together and even having moments of competence, which I always love. The sex is hot and varied, though I suspect I'd find it even hotter if I was at all in...more

I really enjoyed the first two books in this series but this one felt muddled. The focus was split between Vic's apprehensions over getting a place with Jacob and the missing persons case they're working. In the previous books, this dual focus got equal screen time and played together really well. In this book the case was almost an afterthought to all Vic's domestic worrying. When the case itself was resolved it wasn't satisfying or explained very well.

I still enjoy the premise and will read o...more
