My name is Chloe Saunders. I'm fifteen, and I would love to be normal.

But normal is one thing I'm not.

For one thing, I'm having these feelings for a certain antisocial werewolf and his sweet-tempered brother--who just happens to be a sorcerer--but, between you and me, I'm leaning toward the werewolf.

Not normal.

My friends and I are also on the run from an evil corp

It’s nearly impossible for me to write a review for books that I love. I’m never able to do them justice, but I’ll give it a whirl. The Reckoning is the final installment to Kelley Armstrong’s Darkest Powers Trilogy. If you haven’t read The Summoning and The Awakening, I would advise you not to read this installment until you have. The Darkest Powers’ world is constantly evolving and Armstrong doesn’t waste her time catching readers up to what they should already know, which I have to admit, i...more

Okay, okay, okay. Four stars.

See, I enjoy these books while reading them, and its not until afterwards that I realize their faults. I get sucked into the easy writing and run-and-hide plot. Its certainly a good way to spend a few hours.

This series could have been one book, because really, the plot of these books is pretty much running, hiding, moments of sexual tension, and the occasional revelation. Take a cheese grater to this series, and you might just have one exc...more

The. Best. Friggin'. Series. I've read in a long long long long long (you get the picture) time. I was thrilled. Super-excited. Impressed. So glad someone restored my faith in believing there could still be good books in the world. Thank you Kelley Armstrong. You did great.
I can't express with words how superb this book (and series) was. Everything about this book appealed to me. The likeable characters, the imaginative plot, the way how the love triangle was portrayed, even though it wasn...more

L.O.V.E.D. IT!!!!!!!!!!!

Kelley Armstrong's Darkest Powers trilogy had everything I was looking for in a series... intensity, intrigue, romance and a bit of paranormal horror. What an exhilerating story that Kelley weaved for us!

The Reckoning, the third book in this trilogy, starts off with intensity and ends triumphantly. And all good stuff inbetween!

Unfortunately, it's going to be hard to write a review without some spoilers... but I'll try to keep the majo...more

"The Reckoning" Has not yet been put on the shelves, But my Mother works for a book company and so I have gotten the book early. I am currently reading this book and it is just like the first two books, Exciting. If you have read "The Summoning," and "The Awakening," You defiantly want to read this book! I have just finished this book and it was diligent! I loved it! Suggestion for the ending, don't think "omg, why did hey end it like that, the should have expl...more

Recommends it for: Fans of the first two Darkest Powers books
Chloe Saunders, teen necromancer, will not be leading a normal life any time soon . . . or that’s the impression one gets while reading the third book in the Darkest Powers trilogy, though that “theme“ has run rampant throughout the first two books where I‘m sure people have gotten the message that supernatural powers (even those of raising and controlling the dead) are not quite so desirable as they first appear. Just a note of warning before I jump into the review: this book cannot be thorou...more

I'm not going to spoil the story for you but there are plenty of good bits, in fact I noted down my favourite pages to do with Chloe and Derek: 125, 225, 242, 292, 371-2 and 390. The part in the woods with the werewolves was excellent, my eyes were glued to the pages. I love how Chloe and Derek are determined to protect each other at great risk to their own lives.

This may be a young adult trilogy but it didn't always feel like it, in a good way of course. Derek calling Chloe on her ...more

Ich hätte ja schon nicht gedacht, dass es noch besser werden kann als das erste Buch und dann kam das zweite. So weit so gut.

This book was just the right amount of EVERYTHING. As a matter of fact: It. Was. Perfect.

Action. Mystery. Fear. Romance. Passion. Truths. Not-wanted truths. And Trouble. Lots of trouble.

All of this and more is poured into the pages of The Reckoning, soaking every page of it. This book was a little bit more focused to the relationship between Chloe and Derek, but still keeping up with all the action. It was really fun and tr...more

After finishing up this book i was like: "Wait, thats all? I want more!" This book in the Trilogy wraps up the story with Chloe and the rest of her supernatural friends.

After they are betrayed, again, by the least expected person... again, they are re-captured by the Edison group who originally messed with their DNA and locked them up in the research facility. But also Chloe, who originally though...more

The Reckoning is not the best written YA, and it will never be a YA series that strongly impacts adults. The entire Darkest Powers series is filled with flaws. There is not nearly enough plot to fill 3 books, the kids are constantly on the run while wondering who to trust and where to go, the big action scenes are confusing, conflicts between the kids are very easily resolved ~ in fact, the love triangle is solved way too amicably to be believed, … but even so, this was an enjoyable read.

It is so damn hard to write reviews for books you love, so I apologise in advance for the incoherence!

Where to start? Well, Armstrong successfully managed to include plot twists and turns I was completely unprepared for. Considering I had had a year to think it over, I thought I had a pretty good idea how this book would go. I was so wrong! The action was violent, sudden, and unexpectedly terrifying - and intensely emotional. Chloe and Derek had to do some things they really were...more

Okay, before I get into the review, I would like to just make you aware that there may be some small spoliers, since this is the third book in the Darkest Powers series, however, I will not be posting any spoilers about the plot line etc so do not fear!!  I had the biggest feeling of trepidation when I started reading this book, its always the same whenever I read the last in a series.  A whole load of questions whirl through my mind; will the characters end up where I want them to? will the que...more

In the third and final book in the series we follow Derek, Chloe, Simon and Tori on their quest to free their trapped friends and family and escape well pretty much everyone!!

They think they have found a safe house with the boys friend, Simon - only to find that he to has betrayed them and so once again they are on the run. Unfortunately only to be recaptured and taken back to were they started at.

Im not giving away anything as to the plot but in this novel we see the r...more

I liked it, really liked it! This is an amazing teen read! Finished it in one go (while I was supposed to do schoolwork *oops* whaha)

Everything that I wanted to happen, happened hihi and I really was into the story! It kept me intrigued and it's written really nicely.

No 5 stars because well... to my feeling the story isn't finished, too much mysteries left unsolved and stuff. The story of Chloe is finished tho I think, yet I still have the feeling there could be written ...more

I always like Kelley Armstrongs writing and she's doing an awsome job writing for young adults. It's right on target language wise and theme wise.
In this third and final Summoning series book Chloe and her "gang" face the Edison Group again and also Cabals come into play... see who comes to the rescue. Maybe the ending is a little to easy, but hey, it's a good one...

I find it hard to write a review for a sequel. If you haven’t read this series yet, you can read my review for the first one HERE and for the second one HERE.

I’m going to be completely honest… I liked it! This series gets better with every book. I love the story, it keeps me addicted and begging for more. The characters are just so great. I love Chloe. I adore Derek. Simon makes me laugh. Tori is less annoying. I love how the romantic aspect is included, without making it seems fake....more

In the previous books in the Darkest Powers series (The Summoning and The Awakening), Chloe Saunders and her friends have discovered their supernatural powers, been locked away as mentally ill by the Edison Group (which endowed them with their powers in the first place) and have escaped to what they consider a sanctuary.

They think they have finally found a safe haven with Andrew, a trusted friend of Derek’s and Simon’s father. But not everything...more

Endlich in Sicherheit?

Can I just say I can't believe this is the last one! I didn't realize it was the last book in the trilogy because I thought it was a series, not a trilogy. I want more! This book was the best of all three of the books.
In this one, Chloe gets much better with her powers and gets into more trouble. Her and her pack of friends are on the run and but they can really handle themselves. I feel really bad for Simon because he likes Chloe so much but she doesn't like him. Chloe and Derek get close...more

The end is very near and not all will be there to see it. Chloe Saunders is not your average girl. Sure she's got the usual, friend drama, boy problems, nagging grownups. But she's got things about her that make her stand out from the rest. She's a powerful necromancer, who can raise the dead with a wink, choosing between a misunderstood werewolf "But no one even recognized that. They didn't see Derek. All they saw was the werewolf" and a sorcerer, with a new best friend who may or may...more

Kelley Armstrong has been telling stories since before she could write. Her earliest written efforts were disastrous. If asked for a story about girls and dolls, hers would invariably feature undead girls and evil dolls, much to her teachers' dismay. All efforts to make her produce "normal" stories failed.

Today, she continues to spin tales of ghosts and demons and werewolv...more

“You were just worried about me."
An exhale, relieved that I had understood. "Yeah"
I turned. "Because you think I'm worth it"
He put his fingers under my chin. "I absolutely think your worth it."
"But you don't think you are."
His mouth opened. Shut.
"That's what this is about, Derek. You won't let us worry about you because you don't think you're worth it. But I do. I absolutely do."

“So I was right, wasn't I? It's still you, even in wolf form.'
He grunted.
No sudden uncontrollable urges to go kill something?'
He rolled his eyes.
Hey, you're the one who was worried.' I paused. 'And I don't smell like dinner, right?'
I got a real look for that one.
Just covering all the bases.”
