Unfortunately I have more (and stronger) negative comments than positive ones for this book. Firstly the negatives:

1) Despite its name, this manual isn't really about fighting zombies. It reads like it's written with human enemies in mind, with the text changed slightly to cash in on the recent popularity of zombies. For example, why is it necessary to camouflage your position from observation by aircraft? Zombies can't fly themselves or pilot aircraft. An explanation is given, but it's lame and
This book is good for what it is, it is very informative, and a good guide for what to do in case of a zombie situation. It is also very creative. This book tells you how to cover your self and move around in areas that might be encountered in such a situation. The book is very serious on this topic and goes very in depth in the possibility of what could happen. A disturbing trend in zombie fiction is the role of the military in the zombie uprising. It seems to play one of two roles, either the perpetration or bungling idiot failure. Rare is the book that shows the military in a vital role. With this book, which should be a shelf resource for any writer wanting to do more than fiddle about with zombie tales, perhaps that will change.

you know how it's said that an army is always fighting it's last war? yeah.... it's not at all like the zombie survival guide. this was basically a military manual that references zombies. it places more emphasis capture, secrecy (from zeds), intercepted transmissions, and other concepts that equate the zed with true cognizant enemy combatants. overall - it was dense, a slow read and lacked sufficient humor for being a zombie book. not terribly impressed...
this is awesome. it teaches you how to get away from and kill zombies. zombies might not come but if they do this book will prepare you and teach you how to survive during a zombie outbreak.
Although this book is literally a manual for the army with just the word "zombies" added, I still enjoyed learning survival skills.
