I received a review copy of Twilight's Serenade from Bethany House, and am under no requirement to write a positive review, just an honest one.

Tracie Peterson is a master of historical fiction and this book is a great addition to her library of writing. I read the first book in this series and somehow missed the second book, I was pleased to see that the third book isn't reliant on the previous books but can stand on its on feet if necessary. Much time has passed since the first book, the infant in book one is now a dad with children of his own. Now his younger sister is the main character in this book and she is returning home after b...more
Having read Tracie Peterson's Alaskan Quest series, I jumped on the chance to review this book in yet another Alaskan series. This is book 3 in her Song of Alaska series, and, though I wish I could have read books 1 and 2 simply because I love to read an entire series, Tracie Peterson penned this novel in such a way that it could easily be a stand alone novel. This is what drew me into Tracie's work with the Alaskan Quest series and it is what will continue to always draw me into her books.

Twilight's Serenade by Tracie Peterson is the third book in the Songs of Alaska series. Britta Lindquist has returned home to Sitka, Alaska, after spending six years on tour playing her violin around the world. She has a difficult choice to make: marry Brenton Maltese and accept his invitation to be first chair in a new orchestra in London, or stay home with her large family and try to get over her life-long love for Yuri Belikov. When she arrives home, she quickly finds herself helping Yuri's w...more
i picked up this book because i cant bring myself to not finish a series..the 2nd book was disappointing for me it seemed the whole thing was basically happy and there were no trials in faith and the problems that happened were not all that trying...im soooooooooooooo happy i read the 3rd book it was amazing! i loved every moment of it.. ~*~* sort of a spoiler gonna happen now*~*~*~*~ when darya (p.s. could not figure out for the life of me how to pronounce that name) died i got wheepy i didnt c...more
I was very anxious to read this one of the third in this series and it was by far better than the
second one and I am sad there is not another in this series. Britta is a very strong willed woman
who also has the patience of Job and it pays off for her. She is such an emotional and caring woman
and I could help but cry at the horrible event that takes place in her life. Lydia's past comes back
again and climaxes once again. The historical part of this book is very captivating too...more

Tracie Peterson is one of my favorite authors. I got to interview her a few years back, and she was pleasant and down-to-earth. Her books are always fun to read. This story was #3 in her series, Song of Alaska. The character's are believable and ones that you become friends with and care about. She makes them so real. Her authentic historical details, mixed with romance and adventure, highlights her writing.

I love historical fiction from Tracie Peterson and I love her books set in Alaska, but I did not love this book. It was okay. It was the third and final book in the Song of Alaska series, not really a generation later, but almost it continued the story of Britta, the daughter of our protagonist from the first book, Dawn's Prelude and the sister of our main character from the second book in the series, Morning's Refrain, both of which I loved. Even though this was not my favorite read from Tracie...more
This last installment of the Song of Alaska series tells the story of Britta Lindquist. She has spent the past few years traveling and playing in an orchestra. She has just received a wonderful offer to be a part of a brand new orchestra, and a proposal of marriage. She is struggling to understand if this is really what she wants to do with her life, so she comes back home to Sitka, Alaska to think through her options and make her decision. Britta wants to know if she is finally over Yuri Be...more

I got this book for Christmas (the 3rd and not the first because I love the violin), but I want to buy and read the first two before this one (duh, that makes sense), but I think this is my favorite book cover...ever, maybe.
I feel like this sped through a lot of plots, and another jumped in about 2/3 through. That's what I get for only reading book 3, I guess, even if the first two were about earlier generations!
This is a really good book, however, there are bible versus throughout it as Tracie Peterson is known for. It gives you plenty to think about when you least expect it.
Starts out really good. The book goes bad after the couple finally get married and their marriage finally gets on its feet. The book just seems to ramble on and on after the marriage.
Third in the Song of Alaska trilogy. I really liked this one, actually better than the second, and almost better than the first book. I wish there wasn't such a huge gap in between the books, but it was still very good and well written.

Felt a bit cliched for most of the book, but strangely towards the end, it actually got a bit better and actually quite enjoyed it. Nicely closed out the series.
Best book of the series!!!

In this third of the series, a younger sister must make decisions about following a career opportunity and settling for a marriage she does not really want or following her heart and finding a way to marry the man she has always loved.
