I think this one was my favorite of the series, thus far. Mostly because I “got” Blayne. I like shiny things, I would totally wear bunny rabbit ear muffs and sparkly red ice skates, I’m the peacekeeper just like her and hate seeing people being rude- but don’t mistake us for wimps because I’ll claw your eyes out if you try to hurt someone I love… just like her.

In Blayne’s story we find her hunting down Bo Novikov, ruthless #1 hockey player extraordinaire. Having locked eyes with him long ago, sh More...

Blayne Thorpe is a spirited wolf dog whose thoughts and actions run a hundred miles a minute. She has caught the interest of Bo Novikov, the seven feet, 400 lb shifter and notorious hockey player who has a reputation of being just plain mean. Blayne decides Bo needs a life and to be happy, this is the opening that Bo needs to convince Blayne he wants her to be happy. Danger lurks in the background though as hybrid shifters are being kidnapped and tortured to fight in the pits until their death, More...

Really... This was just such a weird read... I don't even know where to beguin. I will admit this book was way better than the previous one... still I think that after the first 3 books the series just changed in a way I don't approve of. While I found those 3 first books funny and different from everything else out there, I found this last 2 too predictable and not as funny. I will even admit I missed the dogs a bit, lol. I think my problem was with Gwen and Blaney, I just never really liked th More...

I got this as soon as I could as I love Shelly Laurenstons Pack and Pride books, and once again I wasn’t disappointed. Like all of her books this one is ripe with dangerously crazy females and the most adorably arrogant men.

This book carries on from the “Mane Squeeze” and features Blayne Thorpe (a wolf-dog) and Bo “The Marauder” Novikov (polar-lion). The relationship that blooms between these two is funny, and they definitely come under the heading “opposites attract”, with Blayne being a carefr More...

So .. Am I the only one who wanted to punch Blayne ? For the love of god that character was kind of retarded and seriously annoying. I mean .. if u hit poles and have a memory like a goldfish .. thats not cute, its actually really sad. Other than that she just seemed dumb and ignorant. And yes , the part where she goes off to chase a squirrel in the middle of a conversation just illustrates it( in "The Mane Squeeze")

Well Bo .. as far as I read the book .. was nice. But unfortunately it was REALL More...

To my surprise, this book really worked for me. I didn't read the others in the series, because after Hunting Season I wasn't convinced Laurenstons writing style was a good fit for me. So I kept postponing reading the first book in this series, but wasn't entirely ready to drop it completely, since decent shifter books aren't that easy to find.

Somehow I ended up reading the sample of this one somewhere last week, and found myself hooked, because it was so deliciously funny.

It's a very quirky and More...

Ok...so I gave this book 5 stars because I LOVE SL's Pride series and this one was a great addition to the rest!...I've always loved Blayne, the little wolf-dog has always been hilarious and it was fun to see her end up w/ someone so great. Bo...I LOVED!!! ....a Polar bear-lion who plays hockey..too funny!...and throw in his OCD w/ neatness and lists and time...what's not to love!? This book had SL's signiture "sassy and crassy" humor, which is so much fun and will have you laughing out loud! I More...

This is book number five in Shelly Laurenston's Pride Series and it is fabulous!
Warning!! The characters in this book take some getting used too, they are extreme and take on quite a few characteristics of their shifter animal. If you have not read any books in this series before, I advise you to do so before reading this one, as the world and the characters are special, you really need the full picture from start to finish.

I couldn't wait for this book to come out, and it did when I went away on vacation and had to wait til I came back to the country to read it!!!! AHHHH I love the characters, their relationship, their banter, everything, however I was a bit disappointed that we didn't get more steamy scenes!!!! But it was such a sweet story, I couldn't put the book down once I started!

What happens when you combing hokey, a 7 ½ foot tall sexy shifter - part polar bear, part wolf - and a goofy dog named Blayne Thorpe. You get a happy KC of course. You are guaranteed to crack a smile when reading any book written by Shelly Laurenston. And this one is by far her funniest yet.

In this 5th installment of her Pride series, we meet goofy, wolf-dog, Blayne that is being courted by scary, Pride hokey player Bo Novikov. She might have run screaming in the other direc More...

I gave Beast Behaving Badly by Shelly Laurenston 5 stars because her series is just getting better and better.

Beast Behaving Badly is about Gwen's best friend Blayne and a new character, Bo Novikov, a hockey star.
After I read The Mane Squeeze (Gwen and Lock's story), I thought that would be one of my favorite shifter books. But I have to say, that the Pride series is getting even better and I'm finding myself more and more drawn into the world of the shifters.

And another re-read 22/10/12 just cause I needed to read a good book :)

I decided to do a re-read cause the next book Big Bad Beast is in the mail from Book Depository.

I loved this book, it is #5 in the series and this time it is bears and wolfdog hybrids. Bo Novikov, the bear/lion hockey player everyone wants on their team because he is so mean and Blayne Thorpe, the wolf/wilddog derby player who is too nice because if she lets go people end up dead.

There is a plot by humans to capture hybrids f More...

3 1/2

All her Pride books are hilarious but crazy. This tops it all. I really like this series, but they are not books I ever think about re-reading. They lack the intensity for it (in the pnr I think I read again only a few of the Breeds series), this explain the 3 stars rating.
But I would recommend it if you love fun and cute.

I was laughing by page 4 of this book, and by the middle of it, my husband was staring at me because I was laughing so hard tears came out of my eyes. This is officially my #1 favorite series now. It's a paranormal romance series set in modern day New York City, and I can't rave about it enough.

This particular installment in the series features wolfdog Blayne Thorpe, who is scatterbrained in the extreme and loved by everyone, getting together with Bo Novikov, a famous polarbear/lion hybrid shif More...

Review courtesy of Dark Faerie Tales.

Quick & Dirty: Place an obsessive time keeper and neat freak with a slob that isn’t concerned with time but passionate about people, throw in a little paranormal and presto you have this story.

Opening Sentence: The face slammed into the protective glass, blood spurting out as cartilage was demolished, bone shattered.

I LOVE this Book!!! First off her series is Wickedly Awesome but I am in love with the Characters in this book. Blayne Thorpe is so unusual and eclectic that in some ways you are not sure you will like her because she is so different and yet you fall in love with her quirks and you understand why Bo Novikov does too.. I love how Shelly builds their relationship from mutual attraction to love. The book is funny and in my opinion she is one of the best character writers I have come across.. Bo Nov More...

I really wish you could give 1/2 stars--this would be 3 1/2 because I didn't quite LOVE it but I didn't hate it either.

Now to nitpick...

This is the 5th book, I believe, in a shifter series and at times, I felt like I just 'got' the world and others, I felt as if I needed a paragraph or two to help me understand this world. Nothing major, but it did require a little extra brainpower to figure out what was going on or who people were. It could have been the ARC formatting issues that made it diffi More...

There's something really sweet about this book. There's Bo who is big, bad, and a greedy hockey player with a small touch of OCD (a smidge...really...just a smidge...unless you broke your watch) and Blayne who is sweet and nice. The way she tugs on his tail is fun. He almost seems baffled about why this female keeps dogging his steps, somehow determined to save him from himself though she's the only one who's pretty sure he needs saving.

I did find it a little annoying that she kept trying to fix More...

I just love this series! Thank you SL for making me snort with laughter - and for creating crazy hot shifter men for me to lust after.

" Yeah. Nothing really ruins a romantic weekend away with the boyfriend like cops arresting you both. So no more boyfriends."
" So you're celibate?"

Il libro More...

I checked this book out from the library this week, and I finished it in two days.
This is the first book by Shelly Laurenston that I have read, and I was not disappointed. In fact, I plan on reading the entire series.

Reasons to read & enjoy this book:
The characters are fresh, funny, quirky, and come to life with each page turn [or finger-swipe]. You know a book is good when you find yourself thinking that the characters are your best friends, or at least you wish they were. Thats exactly w More...

Fifth in the Pride paranormal-romance series set in contemporary New York City.

The Story
Most of her adult life, Blayne Thorpe has been running from Bo "The Marauder" Novikov ever since the first time he stared at her from the ice. Now he's back and he won't take no for an answer. He wants Blayne. He wants her in his bed, in his life. Forever. She's his puck off the ice and no one gets between Bo and his puck.

The Characters
Bo Novikov is a 7'-1", 387-lb. hybrid, part polar bear, part lion and he l More...

I had heard so many wonderful things about Shelly Laurenston, that when I saw this book at the bookstore yesterday, I grabbed it up thinking it would sit in my TBR stack for a week or two and I would read it eventually. When I started flipping through it though, I became intrigued, and then enthralled, then just quit pretending and read the whole book. OMG, what a terrific book. I liked this one so much more than I thought I would! It is now up there on my list of favorite manly pnr books! I liked Blayne and I liked Bo. I liked that they weren't your usual interracial couple, with the author focusing more on race, than just writing the story. She just wrote about them like they were normal characters, which is totally cool since you don't see that often. Usually an author will beat you across the head with how they're not white.

Once again I find myself wishing for a 1/2 star system. I do try and save the five star ratings for books that just leave me saying, "wow" and thinking about them for days and weeks to come. Beast Behaving Badly, while not one of the great masterpieces, is so freaking funny it would definitely get that extra 1/2 star. I haven't laughed out loud at a book that much since the early Stephanie Plum books.

Blayne is a hybrid shifter, wild dog and wolf, and she is just off the wall. Cheerful, happy an More...
