I think this one was my favorite of the series, thus far. Mostly because I “got” Blayne. I like shiny things, I would totally wear bunny rabbit ear muffs and sparkly red ice skates, I’m the peacekeeper just like her and hate seeing people being rude- but don’t mistake us for wimps because I’ll claw your eyes out if you try to hurt someone I love… just like her.

In Blayne’s story we find her hunting down Bo Novikov, ruthless #1 hockey player extraordinaire. Having locked eyes with him long ago, sh

5 crazy stars

Blayne Thorpe is a wolfdog, one of the most unstable shifter breeds, she is also way too nice for her derby team. When it seems like she won't be playing in their bouts because of being too polite she gets Bo Novikov, one of the hardest hockey player in the shifter leagues, to train her.

Bo Novikov, a lion-polar bear hybrid, was fascinated with Blayne Thorpe from the first moment he laid eyes on her ten years ago but she run away from him screaming. Ten years later he isn't about to
Blayne Thorpe is a spirited wolf dog whose thoughts and actions run a hundred miles a minute. She has caught the interest of Bo Novikov, the seven feet, 400 lb shifter and notorious hockey player who has a reputation of being just plain mean. Blayne decides Bo needs a life and to be happy, this is the opening that Bo needs to convince Blayne he wants her to be happy. Danger lurks in the background though as hybrid shifters are being kidnapped and tortured to fight in the pits until their death, ...more

I got this as soon as I could as I love Shelly Laurenstons Pack and Pride books, and once again I wasn’t disappointed. Like all of her books this one is ripe with dangerously crazy females and the most adorably arrogant men.

This book carries on from the “Mane Squeeze” and features Blayne Thorpe (a wolf-dog) and Bo “The Marauder” Novikov (polar-lion). The relationship that blooms between these two is funny, and they definitely come under the heading “opposites attract”, with Blayne being a carefr
I have no real review. But I am giving this book five stars because :

1) I felt great after I read it
2) I wanted to read another book JUST LIKE IT when it was over
3) I laughed a LOT while I read it
4) I wanted to be these characters' friends
5) I went back and read parts of it again right after I finished it

I don't think I've read a bad Shelly Laurenston book yet. She just does it for me.
Yes, I’m on a Pride ride lately, and since books 3 and 4 were sooo good, I went straight with this one. And it was exactly what I needed in the middle of an intense work trip. The heroine was Blayne, the crazy but smart wolfdog that I loved in the previous book. The story had very few scenes, very mild by these series standards, but the love story among such different hero and heroine was such a blast, I was smiling all the way till the end. Loved the secondary characters, the dialogs, the way t ...more

RE READ Was Brilliant!!! Loved it the 3rd time :)
Oh my gosh, this book was amazing. I loved Bo and Blayne - so comical and so right for each other. Now I absolutely cannot wait until Ric and Dee's story comes out!!

Blayne and Bo had met briefly 10 years ago, when Bo had spotted her and she freaked out and ran off. Bo has never forgotten her, nor she him. Blayne was freaked out when she saw Bo again, after all those years thinking he was a serial killer trying to get to her. Bo (a lion polar bear mix breed) known for being The Maurader in the wi
This is book number five in Shelly Laurenston's Pride Series and it is fabulous!
Warning!! The characters in this book take some getting used too, they are extreme and take on quite a few characteristics of their shifter animal. If you have not read any books in this series before, I advise you to do so before reading this one, as the world and the characters are special, you really need the full picture from start to finish.

~V~ I gave this book 5 stars because I LOVE SL's Pride series and this one was a great addition to the rest!...I've always loved Blayne, the little wolf-dog has always been hilarious and it was fun to see her end up w/ someone so great. Bo...I LOVED!!! ....a Polar bear-lion who plays hockey..too funny!...and throw in his OCD w/ neatness and lists and time...what's not to love!? This book had SL's signiture "sassy and crassy" humor, which is so much fun and will have you laughing out loud! I ...more
Omg!! How much do I love this book and the whole freakin series...Seriously, the realtionship between Blayne(who I love in the other books and have been waiting for her story) and Bo was super cute and just like how well they went together even both have serious crazy issues going on. If you haven't read this series yet you MUST-it is so LOL funny!!

This was the first book that I have read my Shelly Laurenston, I had seen this series floating around on Amazon and Goodreads but had never taken the plunge. So when I saw this book pop up on Net Galley I thought I’d give it a whirl. I knew I was picking it up on book five but it looked like it could be read as a standalone. Where I was not incorrect in that, it can be read standalone, I would recommend that you read it as a part of the series. I say this not because it really follows a series t ...more
So .. Am I the only one who wanted to punch Blayne ? For the love of god that character was kind of retarded and seriously annoying. I mean .. if u hit poles and have a memory like a goldfish .. thats not cute, its actually really sad. Other than that she just seemed dumb and ignorant. And yes , the part where she goes off to chase a squirrel in the middle of a conversation just illustrates it( in "The Mane Squeeze")

Well Bo .. as far as I read the book .. was nice. But unfortunately it was REALL
Really... This was just such a weird read... I don't even know where to beguin. I will admit this book was way better than the previous one... still I think that after the first 3 books the series just changed in a way I don't approve of. While I found those 3 first books funny and different from everything else out there, I found this last 2 too predictable and not as funny. I will even admit I missed the dogs a bit, lol. I think my problem was with Gwen and Blaney, I just never really liked th ...more

What happens when you combing hokey, a 7 ½ foot tall sexy shifter - part polar bear, part wolf - and a goofy dog named Blayne Thorpe. You get a happy KC of course. You are guaranteed to crack a smile when reading any book written by Shelly Laurenston. And this one is by far her funniest yet.

In this 5th installment of her Pride series, we meet goofy, wolf-dog, Blayne that is being courted by scary, Pride hokey player Bo Novikov. She might have run screaming in the other direc
It's Shelly Laurenston so it's a fun read. You laugh during it and feel good at the end. Throw in a good plot, fun characters, and a sloppy ADHD heroine and an OCD ice-hockey superstar hero and what more could you ask for?

It's the second bear book - we met Blayne as the heroine's best friend in The Mane Squeeze. DeeAnn and Ulric's non-relationship continues to heat up. The Smith pack and the Kudnezov pack have bit parts.

This author [and her alter-ego G. A. Aiken:] are on my "must have" list...

I was laughing by page 4 of this book, and by the middle of it, my husband was staring at me because I was laughing so hard tears came out of my eyes. This is officially my #1 favorite series now. It's a paranormal romance series set in modern day New York City, and I can't rave about it enough.

This particular installment in the series features wolfdog Blayne Thorpe, who is scatterbrained in the extreme and loved by everyone, getting together with Bo Novikov, a famous polarbear/lion hybrid shif
Blayne and Bo's story is one of my favorites-- as I was buying it I noticed a few so-so reviews about the chemistry between them, but I think that's what makes the story unique. It's not your typical shifter romance-- you've got one huge, serious kick ass hockey player and a hyper emotional kick ass wolfdog-- I loved their progress from strangers to friends to lovers. They may be weird, but they both have heart:) This is a great read if you love your shifter romance with humor and wit.
Another white washed cover, but a wonderful book. The cover girl really should be black.
Actually 4.5.

While I usually like a Shelly Laurenston story over all, there are always issues. The comedy quickly veers into slapstick, almost three stooges territory. And the constant fighting and screaming and battling can get a bit...overwhelming. I am happy to say that that really didn't happen here.

We have met Blayne before. She is a Hybrid, but no just any hybrid, but the unstable wolfdog variety. They are feared through out the shifter world for their unpredictable ways. Blayne is no exce
To my surprise, this book really worked for me. I didn't read the others in the series, because after Hunting Season I wasn't convinced Laurenstons writing style was a good fit for me. So I kept postponing reading the first book in this series, but wasn't entirely ready to drop it completely, since decent shifter books aren't that easy to find.

Somehow I ended up reading the sample of this one somewhere last week, and found myself hooked, because it was so deliciously funny.

It's a very quirky and
And another re-read 22/10/12 just cause I needed to read a good book :)

I decided to do a re-read cause the next book Big Bad Beast is in the mail from Book Depository.

I loved this book, it is #5 in the series and this time it is bears and wolfdog hybrids. Bo Novikov, the bear/lion hockey player everyone wants on their team because he is so mean and Blayne Thorpe, the wolf/wilddog derby player who is too nice because if she lets go people end up dead.

There is a plot by humans to capture hybrids f

When I first started reading these books, people kept telling me, "Wait until you get to the bears." They were so right! First Lock --and now Bo-- are easily my favorite heroes in the series. Bo isn't just a bear, though. He is a bear-lion hybrid, or as Blayne likes to say, a bear-cat. He's socially awkward and OCD, but he's compelling and he's just right for our Blaynie.

I am not usually a fan of scattered, free-spirited heroines, but it's hard not to like Blayne. She is genuinely a good person

This series is such a blast to read. Abundant LOL moments, well written stories, characters that are just freakin awesome, an interesting plot that develops nicely, and who can forget the sexy times!!!

Blayne was a hoot in The Mane Squeeze so I knew this one would be filled with even more Blayne craziness! I was definitely not disappointed either! She is all over the place and we love her for it! And don't get me started on Bo Novikov! I loved him! Big surly mean ass that he w

This had all the makings of another hilarious and original story by Laurenston. The lead H/h are loveable and fit in well with the other pack/pride members. And I hate to say it, but this series is becoming so much like every other pnr series out there, I'm starting to lose interest. It's beginning to go mainstream, I suppose, but the uniqueness is also fading. The crass/crude nature of the wolves in Magnus Pack is disappearing, and I'm sorry, but that was hilarious! I loved how the shifters all ...more
I'll start by saying that I am oficcially in love with Bo and Blayne, I thought they were fantastic!
The beginning of the book skipped straight past funny and into hilarious. Blayne's sense of humour is rediculously brilliant.
I liked that Bo and Blayne had seen eachother 10 years before this book. Bo was playing an Ice Hockey game an spotted Blayne in the stands, he left in the middle of the game to follow her and I suppose to ask her out. But what Bo forgets is that he is absolutely terrify

Great read: terrific dialogue, snarky humor, interesting characters and a fast moving storyline

Blayne Thorpe, a wolf-dog hybrid shifter, plumber and roller-derby player, is best friend to Gwen O'Neill (the main character in the previous book The Mane Squeeze.) Bo Novikov is a bear-cat hybrid shifter hockey player, known as 'the maraurder'. Gwen first saw him ten years ago while he was still with the minors. She didn't want to catch the interest of the intimidating player, but catch it she did--r
