Back to my favorite kind of story! Kathleen Fuller's An Honest Love, is book 2 in her Hearts of Middlefield series and I loved it every bit as much as book 1, A Man of His Word. Tender and sweet, loving and filled with God and humor, this story reaches out to you from the very beginning.

This book was something really different I've read before. I got the book through BookSneeze which mostly offers religious books for review. As I have mentioned before, I myself am not religious but since I am new for open experiences, I wanted to give this book a change.

I really love these Amish stories. These Hearts of Middlefield books are simple, but enjoyable. Like the one before it, there are two stories in this book. The one about Anna and Lukas from the back cover and another one about Aaron (who was a character from book one in the series) and Elizabeth. It seems that all the books center around one family, the Bylers. In this case, Elizabeth and Lukas are both Bylers and then the two people they are involved with are from other families.

An Honest Love is a light hearted, good-feeling sort of read. It’s easy to pick up and exceptionally hard to put down! The book is about two Amish couples: Anna and Lucas, Elizabeth and Aaron. THis is a simple sweet little book. I did not like the deceit that is woven through this book. I understood it and found it to be understandable in context to the storyline. I just found the character to be a little too selfish I understand how human the choices were but I just could not like it when those choices have an affect on someone else who does not have all of the information they should have. I really enjoyed this book. Wonderful read for everyone who loves a light, Amish fiction story. I enjoy romance novels as well as Christian fiction do this book was perfect! I loved that the author not only wrote about Lukas and Anna, but developed all the characters and drew you in to Middlefield. You get to know the community and everyone in it. This book #2 in the Hearts of Middlefield novels. I like how Kathleen Fuller puts two love stories in her books. Anna really annoyed me, but I loved Lucas. I loved how forward he was. One of my quotes at the bottom is an example of that.

I really enjoyed book 1 in this series, A Man of His Word and was excited to read An Honest Love. I really enjoyed the story of Anna and Lukas as well as Lukas's sister, Elisabeth and would recommend it to anyone who is a fan of Amish fiction, however those who are avid fans may have some issues with dialogue between the characters and the plum colored dress worn by one of the characters. I did not like this book as much as the first one in the series (which I loved), but I did like it. The writing was great. The author did a great job of portraying the Amish’s beliefs. I *loved* the secondary character’s romance, maybe even more than Anna’s. I would recommend this book to someone who loves Amish fiction.

Enjoyed it. There was such a substantial subplot involving another set of characters that I felt that such should either have been indicated on the back cover or that the two plots could have been separate books.
I purchased this book when it was cheap for my Kindle and though I don't love Amish stories, this one was pretty good. I won't be looking for other books in the series unless they're free and convenient.
This story let us see that even the Amish have to go through the facts of live even when they choose to be different in this world. But it also show us that love works all problems out, time as well.
Love these because they're so amazingly clean. And Midwestern.
Loved it!! Kathleen Fuller is becoming one of my favorite authors!!

Enjoyed part 2 of the series. Call me mushy, but not sure an unhappy ending would keep me reading. On to book 3.
