I find it really hard to rate this book mainly because I got it for free on Kindle. If I paid for it, I’ll give it a 2 stars because I would want my money back (not worst $9), but since it was free, I guilt myself into giving it a 3 ½ stars.

Once I got past most of the graphic sex (which is mostly in the first third of the book and I suppose is necessary to the story), I loved this book cuz the story rocks. Kindle freebie. Maybe 1.5 stars, because there were things about it I liked, but I couldn't get past the rapes - forced and coerced sex. I can understand that some readers find rape fantasy empowering but it just made me uncomfortable.

Actually 3.5 stars. Debut novels and free books are sometimes not what they could be, plus the negative reviews didn't expect to enjoy this book as much as I did. I enjoyed both the main characters -- neither were TSTL; the plot twist was a little off the beaten path making it interesting. I was able to overlook the anachronisms with no problem.
