This book was for my ABC book. It was about this group of peas and their different jobs that started with each letter. One thing I do like about this book versus other ABC books I have seen is that it is NOT just a book with a letter and one thing that starts with that letter. It has complete sentences and multiple words used in the sentences. One example for the letter G is "We're gardeners, gigglers, givers and takers." It has little pictures of the peas doing each activity and the l

So freaking awesome! This is a bunch of awesomeness! If anyone had ever told me that one day I would wish I was a pea I'd have..... I'd have..... I don't know what I'd have done! I never would have said 'pea' if anyone asked me what vegetable I'd be if I had to pick. But I 100% agree with Baker - I'd be a pea too! Who knew peas were to awesome and so totally cool?!

First of all, I liked this book very much. I thought that the pictures were really cute (loved the peas performing yoga), I thought it was funny, and I thought it was creative. I loved the variety of words the author used to illustrate each letter of the alphabet, and I thought the title was clever, too.
The kids, however, thought this book was "meh." After we read it they did take it and look at the pictures again, but I didn't get any real sense of engagement from them. More...

This is a very cute alphabet book, suitable for the youngest child all the way up to early elementary school age children.
The concept is that peas have a variety of jobs and activities that start with A through Z. Most pages have more than one activity per letter.
The peas are cute, the illustrations are fun, and I love that “We’re readers” represents the letter R. There are big uppercase letters in vivid (though not overly bright) colors, and a lot to view on each page. T More...

Pear-fection? Peas... pretty close. Hilarious peas engage the letters of the alphabet. Fun for adults to read, good for small kids who know their letters and are ready for applying them to who and how we are. My favorite? "We're dancers ---" and the one pea crying out, "Can you dig it?" although the plumbing peas, kayaking peas, and investigating peas all capture my heart. I also love the trio - "we're voters, vets, and volunteers." Who knew peas had so many civic v

This is a cleverly designed and well written book that teaches children not only the alphabet, but about occupations and things they can be when they grow up. Baker uses a vegetable, peas to be exact, to tell his story. The text is written in a rhyming style which children will be sure to love. What child learning the alphabet doesn't enjoy rhyming? Another thing I liked about this book is that the letters are very large and the illustrations are easy to see, which would make this book a good

I loved how the letters were so clearly drawn, this is often the problem with ABC books, which makes it easy for the littlest of pre-schoolers to identify the letters and really get something out of the book. The illustrations were detailed enough in that Richard Scarry style of small characters spread out doing something interesting in the details, but not busy or "Where's Waldo" like. Of course, like most ABC books, the entire narrative was..... secondary but this time it seemed to a

This book is a fun new approach to the Alphabet. Peas are the guides through the alphabet, and each letter features peas, dressed in different occupational outfits. The peas are artists, acrobats, bikers, yogis, etc. My 3 year loves the pictures and now has read it enough times that he can read it from memory. There are a few fun little surprises throughout--such as the K--Kings (an ancient King and a King of Rock and Roll).

An alphabet book filled with veggie tale-like peas. They sing, they dance, they wear berets. They're farmers, explorers, and best friends. They rhyme. Just plain silly. I think a little toddler would have such fun with this book. It may not be the most obvious of alphabet books (some of the pages have more than one letter, so the adult needs to stop and show the child what's what, maybe tracing letters with a finger, showing words that match...) but those little peas are just adorable, and misch

One of my favorite things to do when reading a very detailed book as a child as to discover all of the tiny, clever bits the illustrator put in for readers to find. LMNO Peas provides this and turns it into an all out scavenger hunt! The amusing little peas play out their fun in entire scenes, delighting us as we search to find them. This book relies heavily on its illustrations, but what the text does accomplish very well is to introduce many new occupations and concepts. I feel fulfilled when,
