This isn't one of Sharon Creech's best, but it was a fun, super-quick read. As usual, the hero has some major life-challenges to deal with (death of a loved one, a bully, being able to communicate with ghosts), but he is able to cope quite well with the assistance of an unconventional side-kick. You can find out more about the story and what inspired it, as well as read a chapter, on the author's website.

I had already read a few Sharon Creech books before I got to this one. This is definitley not her best effort. I could hardly even recognize that it was one of her books. If you like this author you would probably be better off reading one of her other books.

Sharon Creech and a simple kid's book, younger than most of hers. It was sweet and simple, but she still managed to make it interesting by almost making up another language within it. A quick (I'm talking, half an hour) read and well worth that time.

This was a cute book but it kind of ended like a movie with a sequel. I really like Sharon Creech. I wouldn't put this book up with some of her other books, but I did enjoy it and found it entertaining. I would recommend this book to children.

an uncle with unfinished business returns to "haunt" his nephew. It's funny and not dark at all, and may encourage a conversation about death.

I was pretty good. I didn't really think it was going to be, but it was funny, and had a happy ending.

too short. good for younger readers though.
