****SPOILER ALERT****

I started reading when I was about 4 years old. In class, we had the entire set of the “Berenstain Bears” that our teachers urged is to read in our spare time. I absolutely ADORED them (even thinking of them now brings back fond memories).

After a while, my homeroom teacher called my parents and voiced her concerns about my newly developed antisocial tendencies. Apparently, I used to hide out in the corner of the playground and bury my nose in a story More...

Angel Star, oh Angel Star...
Oh...

I never believed in burning books until I read Angel Star. Not only the author copies Stephenie Meyer with all the impertinence she can manage, she also forgot to write a story, along with basic rules of grammar, similes that make sense, avoid constant contradictions, etc.
How many times do we have to be reminded of how beautiful and dazzling Garreth is and how much Teagan is thrilled with her guardian angel? Her best friend die More...

If i were to describe this book in a short sentence, I would say, "I loved every single page i read". And let me just say this, that there are certain points in your life that is defined by certain incidents which can make all the difference in our life.

Let me briefly start with the long journey i took with this book. If you do read this, you won't regret it. The day i got this book was actually rather bad cos i was going though some really bad sit

Must read this, to see if it's really a piece of utter garboid like everyone says.

Let's be real here. This is a YA angel book. With romance. And really bad main character names. My hopes are pretty much in the gutter. It doesn't even have a cheap marketing ploy pretty cover to hide behind.

Honestly?

Honestly?

The Snark Squad may just be back in business. Get your armor, ladies. We are not done with this one yet.

Reworded from my entry on The Screaming Nitpicker. Original review here. Warning: that one is heavily venomous, this one slightly less so.

I always told myself I would never post my full thoughts on Angel Star on Goodreads because it would involve more venom, fire-spitting, and general evil than any review should. Then I remembered what book it was about and I decided to go for it, though I've reworded things to make them fall just under the line I define as the border between "t More...

Angel Star is completely perfect and captivating. I fell in love with it from the very beginning. It swept me off my feet leaving me in a contented feeling of pure bliss. The writing was beautiful, pulling me into the story. The romance was wonderful. I loved all the characters. They had so much depth, and I felt their love and sorrow. Teagen was a great character. I loved her purity and innocence, but also that she wasn't perfect, and has a small portion of the dark side. And I loved Garreth. H More...

I finally found the angel book I’ve been searching for... Angel Star by Jennifer Murgia is a amazingly well written tale about a girl named Teagan, who’s guardian angel temporally hangs up his wings and becomes human to warn her, of the evil lingering in the darkest corners of her life. From page one this story just pulls you in and never let’s go.

The main character, Teagan, starts out as a shy girl. Her best friend, Claire, is a character at the beginning of the book that helps sh More...

I still refuse to accept the fact that someone decided to publish this ... uhm book. It was by far one of the worst things I have ever read, if not the worst. It read like really really bad fan fiction. Lexically it was absolutely simplistic and I believe the vocabulary of a 8-year-old could be quite complex compared to this one. And the plot ... oh my... don't get me started. I was reading, scratch that, breezing through the story and couldn't believe how utterly stupid it was. The main charact More...

I think most people going into the Angel Genre kind knows what to expect and knows what patterns to look for. That being said, I've read this book 4 times now and it seriously gets better every time. Jennifer Murgia has invented a character that is normal enough to connect with, but unique enough to still fall in love with her. The love-triangle these days is pretty much a given but Murgia has managed to make the bad guy, someone to fall in love and root for all while the good guy is still in th More...

Heheeeeeeeeeeeeee, yes it'll happen some day.

Lemme tell ya a story. This cover reminds me of a Chinese throwing star that I found in my school. I promise the story gets better.

Two years ago, during my freshman year at RIT, my fellow classmates and I were working on a class assignment, and when we discovered this thing, we started pretending to be ninjas and throwing the star into the trees. I was the one to hang onto it because I thought it was really cool. More...

I really enjoyed being swept away in wonderful mythology about Angels, good vs evil and the delicate balance that lies in between. That balance happens to be 17 yr Teagan McNeel. Teagan has one friend, lives with her mother and unexpectedly falls head over heals for the hot new, captivating student, Garreth Adams.

Teagan soon realizes there is a lot more to Garreth than she thinks, and Garreth knows everything about Teagan. Their immediate connection was perfect and the closer Teaga More...

Jennifer Murgia’s writing is fluid and all around great. She has an incredible sense of detail that allowed me to see the story and its characters very clearly in my mind. With Teagan, Ms. Murgia has created a wonderful narrator who has an authentic voice and is a character I can relate to. Thanks to Ms. Murgia's talent for characterization, the other characters are well-rounded and believable as well, even the supporting ones.

My favorite part of the novel is Teagan and Garreth’s rel More...

My thoughts...I am going to keep this a short review because I don't want to give away any spoilers. Let me say that this is a great read and I highly recommend it to fans of YA paranormals, especially ones with Angels as the main characters.

There were several memorable characters in Angel Star. Teagan, the heroine, is a typical teen, struggling to fit in and deal with the usual bullies. She has a strong sense of right and wrong. While she is not without her flaws, I like her co More...

Jennifer Murgia has created a unique and beautiful love story. The way the author writes the love Garreth feels for Teagan is WOW! But it's also a story of good vs dark/ evil.
I really loved Teagan and Garreth even Hadrian.
I loved Garreth, he's my favourite character. He was sexy, strong, sweet, caring, . . . Hadrian's character surprised me. I don't want to say too much on him because I don't want to spoil anything.

I don't read many angel stories, but when I do I always end up enjoying them. Jennifer Murgia brings a unique new twist the concept of angels on earth, and I found myself very drawn in to this story and its characters. Teagan's relationship with Garreth begins pretty quickly, and I really enjoyed the mysterious quality here and found him to be a great hero to this story. Teagan's character, as well, was pretty well drawn, and I found myself really loving her strength and straightforward chara More...

After reading a sample of this book, I really didn’t plan on reading it. I’ve never been crazy about books that push angels, at some point they always seem to become more religious than I care for. The reason I ended up with this book was a due to a lack of focus when I was playing with my Kindle. I tend to be believe that things happen for a reason, so I read it, and I am so glad I did. The book was nothing like I expected.

On the surface Angel Star is just like every other teen novel. More...

This was an awesome read. Murgia has created a world that sucked me in and made me wish that I were a part. Teagan is a great protagonist, and I really connected with her. She has such a brave heart, and is self sacrificing, she makes me want to be more like her. Garreth is a wonderful literary crush- he is funny, eccentric, and focused only on her-- what more can you ask for?

Teagan McNeel falls for Garreth Adams, the new guy at school, who turns out to be an angel. The idea of guardian angels and their relationships to their human charges, often unknown to the humans, in this book was original (though at times the writing style tried to be a little too breathy and flowery for me), as was the idea of one of them seeking to take advantage of those bonds for his own gain.

However, too many crucial parts of this book had me saying, “Really?” When Teagan’s fri More...

Angels have become a hot new interest in the literary world and my thoughts are the more the merrier! In Murgia’s novel Angel Star we follow Teagan McNeel on her journey to find love, identity and purpose. While living her life Teagan find her self drawn to the mysterious Garreth Adams. Through these feelings she has for him, she finds that Garreth isn’t just any boy and their relationship becomes far more complicated than she ever planned. Angels seem to be the newest paranormal sensation and it’s easy to see why. They are beautiful, protective, powerful, sometimes snarky and sometimes gentle. The angels in this book fit this description perfectly; if all angels are like this, then more angels please!
