This is a good chance to learn more about what a first family's life is like. For right now, this book is up to date, but the one problem is that it definitely has a defined shelf life. I enjoyed the book and I learned a lot from it. Also, this is another Obama family biography that AG Ford illustrated and he does a pretty good job at making everything very believable and lifelike. This was an easy read, but challenging to read aloud to my 11-year-old because every paragraph triggered at least one or two questions! "Is Air Force One armed? How many bathrooms does the White House have? Why don't they call the West Wing and the East Wing the left wing and the right wing?" You would think that he was a three year old! Maybe he was bored... Anyway, it was a fine little book, but not one that I would read over and over! One complaint about the illustrations: A

Interesting look at family life in the White House for the latest First Family. I especially liked finding out the Secret Service's code names for the Obamas. The pictures looked a little stilted to me, though.

Athena really enjoyed this one. Was particularly pleased to learn that the White House has secret passage ways, 132 rooms and 35 bathrooms.
