Shelves: romantic, family-saga
I read this book for an English course and at first I wasn't really convinced about this story. However, after a few chapter, I found myself interested in the events.

The novel covers a long period of time, from the main character's difficult childhood to her adult life, through the difficult hystorical period after the First World War.
